His panto/stand-up shows are amazing. Only surpassed by him and Fry together on Qi. Also as evidenced by the clip his appearances with Sean. Such a great pair. I would kill to be at the one dinner at Jimmy's they mentioned can't remember if it was on countdown , cats or another... Sean ,Jon , Bill, Katherine Ryan, Susy and Rachel... Apparently they spent the entire evening picking on Jimmy for his girlfriend who they all adore it seems. Apparently most of Jimmy's dinners are like that since he's so vicious on tv but so nice in person. Revenge for friends if you will heh. To witness that... Priceless.

@@ragzaugustus Fair play to the joke, but gotta say it's hard watching anything with Sean in it right now. Some part of him was so salt of the earth, or the rock that's always there. I had an easier time (relatively) with Robin Williams. It might just have been his routine, he always played the hard done by, or put out character. I'm sure he had a good run really though.

The look Sean gives at 4:11 is really clearly that of someone reacting wearily to their best friend being up to their nonsense again. Like: "...yeah he does this a lot. He'll wear himself out, don't worry."

It is really worth listening to Australian Aboriginal people playing the didgeridoo. It has a variety of sounds and notes from a deep sound to a higher pitch. The Aboriginal people play it along with rhythm sticks and singing while others are dancing around a flickering camp fire. With tall eucalypt trees towering above in the darkness and the sense of the vast bushland stretching behind you, the effect is very powerful. Many Aboriginal people play in popular bands in Australia, combining the didgeridoo with other instruments with marvellous effect.

Yeah, that's not very fair of old B.B. Mind you, I bet he has actually learned to play it at least privately. It looked like a beautiful instrument. Also, the percussion box is very similar to one I was given by Geoff- the father of a friend- in the 80s. He'd been retired from the Tidbinbilla space tracking station & made lovely wooden things including a row boat called Waste Of Time.

This reminds me of when my kids, friend, and I all played Dungeons and Dragons and my friend created three Dwarvish characters that all played musical instruments. Somehow all four of us spontaneously and unanimously decided that all Dwarvish songs sound like "Sixteen Tons." Dan announced that the Dwarves were going to play a Dwarvish victory song and the four of us started in with "Ba da DA DA DA. Dada da dah. Da dada da dada da dada da da!" And we did it every time they played anything. Dwarvish dirge? "Ba da DA DA DA. Dada da dah. Da dada da dada da dada da da!" Dwarvish battle song? "Ba da DA DA DA. Dada da dah. Da dada da dada da dada da da!" Dwarvish love song? "Ba da DA DA DA. Dada da dah. Da dada da dada da dada da da!"

That momnet when I remember that I have seen both Bill, and Jimmy live at shows, all the way down here in NZ. I know they are sort of characters, but Jimmy did a live meet and greet after his show that anyone could attend, with a crowd of several thousands. Amoung many other reasons I want to lose weight in case he comes back again, and then also has a meet and greet after that show. Also you can think of any witty thing you want, you never pull it off in the momonet. I great at banter, even in the face of very challenging opponents I do well, but here, I had nothing, as after 2 and a half hours laughing my ass off I had no reserves. I know it may have been been said before, but both you guys do so much more than you know. Giving people a reason to try tomorrow is a lot. And I used to play that same role in my old job, the grease that goes between the wheels. Live is up and downs, and it makes it so much easier to deal with the downs when you have an up to come back to. I don't wanna say doctor, but it's not that far off in terms of mental health for those extreme cases.
Bill Bailey, a comedy legend... Funny as hell and love the fact he can play any instrument.

@@hissingsidll750 haha, you remind me of my 9 year old self watching Brass Eye on TV and thinking, "OMG, is this real!?'. Any adult with a bit of sense who's watched comedy before knows Bill wrote this, friend. Allow me to briefly explain two of the reasons for this. There's no way that the AA would send a letter like that. They are a large company with procedures that employees must follow. They have standard letters that they send for such purposes. I suppose the odd maverick might diverge, but it would take them a very long time, and if their manager didnt block it before posting, they would be disciplined or fired. Another thing is that anyone familiar with Bill Bailey knows that the words and phrases are so typical of his comedic expression. The over the top, archaic vocabulary and syntax are undeniably his own words. By saying that the letters are from the AA, he's just setting up a comedic premise. If you watch a bit more comedy, you'll see comedians doing this sort of thing all the time.
