Harry Hill - another favourite of mine, along with Bill Bailey. His early stand-up was pretty surreal, and of course he was fantastic hosting TV Burp. Another show that deserves more reactions.

Pigs used to be let into orchards to eat all the fallen apples and/or fed the crushed apple waste from cider making which changed the taste of the meat it tasted amazing you could taste the apple in the meat and it was always served with apple sauce on the side. These days most mass produced pork is fed fish meal which is why it has a fishy taste.

That was a funny video. Selling doors, door to door. Hilarious! Starsky and Hutch was great back in the 70's. Famous also for their car - not conspicuous at all...nooooo. Haha. Bill is so good at combing music and comedy, never a dull moment. Great reaction too Mandy, couldn't agree more with what you said before the video and loved the 'see you again next time you tune in, because that's how this works' sign-off. Nailed it.

Pork or hog roast with apple sauce. Not like sweet apple pie, more made from the tarter rather than sweeter varieties of apples. Can add sweet onions and various ketchups etc when served in a roll at an event. On plates for family dinners... Pork with apple sauce Lamb with mint sauce Beef with horseradish sauce Duck with orange sauce No idea about goose and in the UK, swans are protected.

You're absolutely right. Bill Bailey is brilliant. If you've haven't seen it, you should watch the TV series Black Books. He's great in that, as in everything. And if you can find it, he had his own TV series called Is It Bill Bailey? back in the late 90s. You see him young like this with his long hair then, so I guess this stand-up clip must be from around that time.

*Classic British Food:* Pork with Apple Sauce. Chicken with Bread Sauce, Beef with Horseradish Sauce, Fish with Parsley Sauce, Lamb with Mint Sauce. Probably a few I forgot. But don't buy the Apple Sauce full of sugar. Real Apple Sauce should be made from tart cooking apples so that when you eat it, it makes your mouth water from the tartness. These days you probably have to make it yourself.

Great Choice! 👏I lurves me some Bill Bailey. It's always a joy to hear you giggling, cackling and guffawing non-stop. 😂 Pork and apple sauce is 'a thing' in the UK _and_ parts of the USA. The UK has specially bred Bramley 'cooking apples', for making apple sauce and apple pie. It's deliberately quite sour, or 'tart' to complement savoury food, and you can add sugar to suit your taste. They're *Much* better than starting with apples that are already too sweet. Best Wishes. ☮

Now.. I have BARELY started to watch this video, so I may have more to say, but.. They rarely say nice things.. positive things.. it MAY be because the panda (as you used as an example) is STILL at great risk of extinction.. and.. The amount of rain-forest that has been saved is SO much smaller than the parts of the rainforest that gets chopped down or ruined in one way or another is still minute.. I know you were just TRYING to figure out something to say as placeholders for what a good news MIGHT be.. And.. What I REALLY wanted to say was that.. News-reporting has changed.. in my mind it relates to the "TL;DR" culture.. where people hold the people who tell them things to actually tell them in a way that they CARE to listen to.. NOT that they provide the ACCURATE information in the RIGHT way..and.. This comes from how the culture have always been focused on.. marketing.. as in.. IF you have a product and want to sell it you are supposed to.. be able to catch someone's eye, make them want it, and so on.. It's.. why American schools DO have "debate clubs" instead of "proper logic club".. to be able to "convince" is often more /effective/ than to have the best ACTUAL real reason. Debate clubs is "how to best utilize logical fallacies".. And in today's world where people think they are ENTITLED to think whatever they like REGARDLESS of how wrong they MAY be.. it's the people who have the better understanding that is OBLIGED to be able to convince them by presenting their view in a convincing manner INSTEAD of YOU being obliged to actually stand for your own views and therefore is OBLIGED to actually LEARN stuff.. That shift.. comes from the "commercials".. and people thinking of this format as "normalcy". There USED to be GOOD reporting.. Today it's ALL about pleasing funders and viewers.. giving people "what they want". Even when the reporting was good there were STILL different news outlets that DID have their own poligical affiliations and so on, so.. it STILL could be left or right leaning in their ideologies, BUT at least they were following an actual "standard" of what it meant to do reporting. Today fox news best excuse for LYING is.. "oh, but we aren't a news organisation.. ".. But.. regardless of the FULL story about this that I might WANT to debate.. what I WANT to point out is that.. a LOT of news outlets USED to have the actual idea that.. We should CARE about our readers/watchers mental health.. So they DID feel like they had a FULL "report".. about MANY topics.. in just the one "edition".. (one news-program).. and there should be AT LEAST!!! one feel-good story in there... PREFERABLY at the end.. So people could walk away.. having learned horrific things that may have happened (Let's be fair; the bad things ARE the most important because those are the things that actually would require people to figure out how to do things better.. the things that DO work are already fine).. However.. as things gets.. "Refined" (also known as: Less diverse).. WHEN news started to become about telling people what to do instead of telling what happened.. When it became a tool to influence.. Yeah.. if looking short term goals and what may or may not be easily quantified and measured.. then.. yeah.. The feel-good stories.. FIRST started to be difficult to find because things working well aren't things that people want to shout out of the roof-tops, so it started being degraded from ACTUAL news-stories.. to.. like.. cute stories.. "Water-skiing squirrel" comes to mind.. So.. they aren't even news any longer.. and after KZread appeared where ALL these cute things appear BEFORE they may be sent to an actual television network.. then.. Airtime is expensive and people are fickle, would YOU put on a video that you assume MOST of the viewers ALREADY have seen- or at the very least something REALLY similar?.. The "Slippery slope" is a logical fallacy, but it is an informal one.. and the reason it is a fallacy is because it IS true.. it DOES happen.. and because of this it is easy to believe it if someone use it as a "reason", but it isn't a "reason".. it doesn't "motivate" or "prove" something.. it is the thing that requires to be "proven" and if we are talking about how news-media have changed and evolved.. then.. me saying that it IS a slippery slope that we have gone down.. isn't a fallacy, it isn't an argument it is a description of how I think things have gone down.. there have been a system of.. people trying to "refine" what they do.. some random events happening that have also put things more and more closer to an edge.. and.. The "feel-good" story had it's run.. Starting with news-papers and other media always TRYING to find something positive to report on.. and.. the desire to influence becoming stronger.. and.. it being more difficult to get to good feel-good stories.. and.. in the end it being replaced by more.. "This is just nice, people will have their heart-strings tugged in a positive direction" than ACTUALLY being a news story.. and so on.. it's.. devolution.. Because of a slippery slope... (Ps. This is inductive reasoning- of course- So I may be wrong, and if you have a better argument I'd love for you to explain it)

OH!.. Pig with apple sauce.. Yes.. In Sweden we have the traditional "Christmas ham" (also we also have "Easter ham".. same food different time of the year).. The ham is served as "cold-cuts" to be put on different types of bread.. and.. there are two acknowledged condiments to go with it.... Either Mustard.. OR apple-sauce.. We don't NORMALLY eat "pig" with "Apple-sauce", but.. it is a very very holiday themed way to eat ham.
