I lived in Enid...twice.

Never knew why Thora Birch didn't become a bigger star. There was this, and the next year there was "American Beauty", and that was more or less it. As for the tune, well, I'm glad the younger sorts are discovering cool tunes from their dads' generation. Yay music!

all yall from mocie but that movie is rrly bad. im so sorry but what. the entire movie is so cliche. the problems they addressed were really important and they did that very well but bc of how much of a joke the rest of the movie was, i feel its hard to take the important bits seriously. i love the story its just too cliche. the mom is relatable. i hate how they had the love interest be a feminist and thats it. like thats the basis of his appeal. its like if ur a male feminist ur automatically an amazing guy and women owe smthn to u now also the fact that yall never heard of rebel girl, bikini kill, or just this type of music in general into now is baffling. not gatekeeping just an observation

Yeah, Lost in Translation was from 2003, but Ghostworld was from 2001... of course Johansson blew up after Lost in Translation.

I have zero problems with songs about lesbians. Not just lesbians, but the entire LGBTQIA+ spectrum. There's no reason why we can't have more of them. Representation is awesome! Bit of an elder punk, here, chiming in. I've been in the scene for years. I thought the movie was... pretty mediocre, very middle-of-the-road. Not horrible, but not great, either. But when I watched it, I thought about how much I really hoped it opened the doors for a new generation of zine-making riot grrls and punks. To all you new kids just discovering zines and punk through the movie: welcome! Raise your fists up high and make yourselves heard! The scene absolutely thrives on new blood, so don't let any of the elitist gatekeepers shut you down! Vegan leather jackets are to the left, handmade Bratmobile tees are to the right.

A "punk of a certain age" myself.Guess I would have been second generation L.A.punk,though I don't like to categorize.Bands like the Linda Lindas and Amyl And The Sniffers instill a little hope for the future.And if you're young and don't have to resort to Black Flag incontinence pants,you kids have fun,but get off my fucking lawn.

I found this the other day on amazon prime and saved it. It's next to watch.

I don’t understand why people are putting moxie down. I think it’s a great movie to introduce younger people to feminism and standing up for yourself. You shouldn’t be putting the people down that are here because of moxie either, you should be welcoming them and showing them how much more there is to learn about feminism and female empowerment. If you want change you shouldn’t gatekeep. If you’re here from moxie then WELCOME TO THE REVOLUTION! 🤘
