If that cop successfully hit him with that taser it would have been deadly force. Without a doubt. With no way to tuck and roll during the fall and no way to safely protect himself, the rider could have died easily. Very inappropriate for the cop to try to use the taser. He poses less risk to the public when he is in control of a wheelie than that 400lb bike flying down the road with no rider on it. Absolutely reckless of the cop.

They cannot taze you while driving/riding, they would get fired so fucking quick, that's endangering not only the biker but the officers and everyone around him after he crashes. He should get canned for even attempting to taze.

if you taze someone and they seize up and fall off the bike going that fast they will be terminally injured, plus you have the bike just flying down the road in gear doing like 60...

It was a taser. Secondly, a cop car can't stop a bike like they can a car. They can't PIT or endanger their life by knocking them off. The taser was most likely a threat of force, and doing wheelies in many jurisdictions is construed as reckless driving. Some of these comments, whew.. It comes down to this. They're on public roads, where laws a rules need to be obeyed. The cops are there to enforce them. The comments where "it's only a wheelie", "not hurting anyone", and "a taser to stop a wheelie", I guess just understand society has laws and disobeying them has consequences. If that's ok then do all the wheelies you want, but don't complain there are police to try and enforce the laws. I'm sure I'll get whiners on this comment...

Firstly, apparently it was his firearm not a taser. Secondly, in either case it would be deadly force which necessitates a threat against the officer or public. There was no threat. Therefore the potentially lethal force was unjustified.
