Bike World Used Review | BMW R NineT
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Chris recently rode @PierCityCustom BMW R NineT on track at a DTRA round, he's also ridden a track version around Brands Hatch, so we thought it was time we took a closer look at a used option.

I work at a bike dealership and watching thr smiles on peoples faces when they fire up the flat motor and it jerks sideways never gets old. It has crazy good manners, awesome power and brakes. Jack of all trades, master of none... mods change that quickly. They love wheelies!

Ha! I had a r60/7 years ago. Starting it up, was an experience!
I have a 2014 and I will never sell it. Its a work of art and it can be a rowdy bike to ride or a docile tourer. I've had it on road, off road, traveled to multiple countries, day rides, it handles anything you can throw at it. Its a joy to ride. The euro 3 bikes are delightfully anologue, no traction, no modes etc. Its also surprisingly quick. You're right Chris. It just puts a smile on your face. Great review.

@@davesnowpros6785 that does ring a bell now. Anyway…happy as a clam with what I have and the R12 9T (?) seems like a rather big step backwards…aesthetically and in my eyes of course
I’m lucky enough to have three bikes to play with. My favourite? My R9T Urban, loads of fun at less than silly speeds, sounds great, and fits me well at 6’1” unlike the Triumph Speedtwin I tried at the time of buying the R9T. I wouldn’t want to ride across France on one, that’s what GS’s and RT’s etc are for, but for a blast around the countryside its just fantastic.
Mate I have to tell you, your english and the quality of your reviews are so good even a french guy like prefered leaving aside his own mother tongue. Cheers.
Finally, a proper review of my fav bike and platform, thanks!
Not something I’d buy, but I always like a Bike World video anyway.
I have exactly the same bike - albeit a 2016 model - added a small daytona fairing and raised the bars 2 cm + gel pad on the seat. This allowed me to do a return trip from Montpellier to Norwich with no comfort problems - great bike
Good review guys 👍 one of the big differences between the R nine T and it's derivatives (scrambler etc) is that they have a much cheaper fork. Only the original has that awesome spec RR fork 👍
My first bike was the 2018 Rninet pure customised to my liking and still love it
What a guy! I’m off to the shop!!
I have a 2021 R9T-719 Option in the frost Black/Silver With the Red Frame, looks absolutely stunning, it always draws a crowd 👍😲
I got to test ride one last fall at a motorrad demo day and of the bikes I rode that day including both s1000s this was my favorite bike of the whole day
I just rewatched this video and realised this is my bike per the datatag no. For ref. I switched out the rear spring for Ohlins and OEM headers for catless Ti Akra's and finished it off with a Sargent seat. Loving it.
Completely agree with Chris, they are super fun bikes to ride. They have so much character!
One of my most favourite bikes
Great review- As the owner of a RnineT GS Anniversary, I concur with his assessment. I went from a Water Cooled 1200 GSA to this O.G. oil cooled boxer as I really missed the sound and response of the "old" oil cooled boxer... I wish it had more suspension travel due to our shitty roads, here in California, but it is a BLAST to ride...!

I recently bought an '11 R1200R, and I've already decided that its replacement--after it hits 100k mi--will be some form of RnineT. Same old torquey bulletproof engine in a 10-yrs-newer bike. I'm hooked.
Great review, thanks.
I had a 2015 and I still regret selling it. Amazing bike!
One of my favourite bikes.
Great review, again! Would love to get your opinion on the Tuareg 660 since I've been thinking of down sizing from my 1100GS...
Not quick but great looking bikes, very easy to mod and lots of aftermarket. Still enjoy my 2017 but I did have to add something stupid fast to the stable.
I rode one once (1st gen). I really liked it!
Always had an eye for them.

A legend today and future classic tomorrow. As you say, if you love the boxer character and looks no other retro will do 😊
Saw the new R12 2024 model on the inter webs, can't wait to trade in my super duke!
Loved my 9T for all the years I had it, but I chewed through two rear hub bearings on it because apparently it's NOT meant for track days or aggressive canyon carving? Ohlins front and back, rear sets, Akra exhaust, remap, all the bells and whistles. Too bad that rear hub was such a pain in the butt 😞
Great video. Did you find that the foot pegs/other parts scrapped when pushing hard in the twisties?
My Euro 5 model doesn’t suffer too badly from wobbly clocks, the rear suspension can be harsh on rough roads but the front end is sound. Missing a fuel gauge is not an issue for me, most motorcycle fuel gauges are crap anyway - my MT09Sp was always full until it hit reserve. A cracking bike!

@@nigelfisher3756 perhaps answering my question to a degree but from my perspective the “problem” is that there are very few dealerships and therefore Guzzis around to buy and subsequently service. That and, perhaps unfairly, the fact that they are still perceived as less reliable which compounds the lack of dealerships and available parts problem. They look good and seem to use quality materials though which is more than what can be said about a lot of the plastic-fantastic offered by other brands

I was going to trade in my 2016 Thruxton R for one earlier this year until I discovered that all of the R9T's suffer from quivering clocks. That's something I would have to look at every day and I know it would drive my OCD mad so I kept my Thruxton.

Ride one this week. What a hoot, grab it by the scruff of its neck and it wriggles, barks, shimmies. So much feedback from the suspension and the brakes were awesome. I couldn't get over how good it was.
EAGERLY WAITING FOR BIKE WORLD AND CARWOW COLLAB . TTS SUPERBUSA VS SUPER CAR.
As an owner, i can tell you the clocks wobble badly, the suspension is awful and the lack of fuel gauge is a pain that you shouldnt have on a modern bike. However if you mod it the way i have, its a pleasure to own.
