Loads of good information there. 👍 One small point - I see that you have a payment card in your phone case. It's safer to add a virtual card to a payment app on your phone. That way, if you lose your phone, you don't lose your physical payment card as well.

Like probably most others I would love to get a bike fit. What makes me hesitate is that I live very far away from any reputable bike fitter and while you can get lucky and get everything fixed in one go, there is a very real chance that you will need a follow-up appointment and/or additional services as e.g. a foot-pedal analysis, new shoes, or maybe a saddle, and it quickly becomes very time consuming not to mention costly too. I better win the lottery I suppose 😂

Both of you need lessons...you have a high-end whip now; half-assed wipe downs will not suffice!!! Please do have to find out the hard way the truth on this. Cheers, Pjw

A word of caution in cleaning your bike and components: NEVER use a citrus degreaser! Because of the acid ph, at the molecular lever it causes hydrogen embrittlement with metals. Two or three TdFs ago a rider was powering up a steep climb and his chain snapped. I did some research and the team was riding with Campagnolo components. I have been in the Campagnolo factory in Vincenza and have seen the exceedingly high quality of the chain manufacturing and 100% Quality Assurance. (No wonder they're so damn expensive!) The chain failure was the result of a team mechanic giving the bikes a quick cleaning and wiping the dirty grease off the chain with a citrus degreaser before regreasing. The chain may have been cleaned this was many times before it eventually failed under max stress. Citrus degreaser will also cause aluminum alloy to corrode. I have a new Dogma F with Super Record wireless and a four year old Grevel with 1 x 13 Campagnolo EKAR. I take very good care of my bikes going all the way back to 1985 when living and working in southern Belgium I put together an Eddy Merckx with Nuovo Record. Check out the SILCA velo videos, Josh who owns SILCA in Indianapolis is an engineer (and a superb business man) and I learnt about hydrogen embrittlement from his excellent explanation. Also, NEVER use a pressure washer hose cleaning the muck off of your bike! The water will get into your bearings and ruin them.

Hi Kyle - helpful comment...... your White-balance is all over the shop mate. It's AWB (Auto White Balance) doing it's best in-camera but it's wandering around massively. For changing light like this (mixture of interior articifial light PLUS changing exterior ambient light) pick a FIXED white-balance setting in-camera (it'll be there in the menu somewhere) and then your color casts won't be changing every time you film a segment and it's much easier to do ONE change in the edit for scenes like this. Best regards ps. to see what i mean look at difference between t=15m30s and t=15m38s. That's the camera's inadequate Auto-white-balance setting.

You can get rubber cleat covers for walking around the cafés and protecting you cleats. They do not fall off and are easy to carry in a pocket. If your shoes are wet, take out the insoles when you come home! This is where 90% of the humidity gets trapped. The insoles and shoes will also dry faster when separated. No need for a dryer; just wear your old pair on the days your main shoes are drying or carry a second pair of insoles if you're on a trip. Heat is the enemy of most sports wear and shoes. Never put insoles or shoes directly on the radiator. Cycling kits, base layers and clothing should never be dried in a dryer on the heat setting. Just hang to dry.

If you decide not to buy a shoe dryer, packing newspaper in your shoes as tight as they will go will dry them out quickly and thoroughly. You may need to change out the newspaper after letting them sit overnight but they will be dry in no time and you definitely will not have to ride with wet, smelly shoes.
