Throwback to probably one of my top 5 biggest projects ever! This Mercedes Sprinter van was almost brand new and needed both front frame rails replaced. This one took me a full week to complete so it's alonger episode than normal. I hope you enjoy watching!

I’m gonna keep it 💯, My writers ever hand me that sheet, I’m gonna tell them either find more damage to total it out, or I’m loading my shish! I did one exactly like this about a year ago. Mind you, We have to do our own mechanic work! So I did it from start to finish (while doing other jobs in between) and I told them right then, That I’ll never do another, and I meant every fuggin bit of it….

Hi mate - an impressive bit of metalwork. I owned a shop years ago and watch a lot of KZreadrs - most of them wouldn' know what a measuring system is. Never mind how to use one. Well done & good luck. Will subscribe now.

I've repaired over 20 Mercedes vans with heavy frontal damage, said on and head on. I've never once had to strip frame rails to that extent. Being honest, I dont think I even would. They only bend to a certain length until the structure of the body starts taking the impact, and at times that goes to strut towers. Any further back starts to affect around the A pillers. The time involved starts to question costs. Given you can replace less of the rail while still keeping the job above and beyond safety standards.. You have great patience my friend.. respect.

what grit sandpaper you use when grinding your welds?
Wow, we had to buy a XL Celette for sprinters, luckily they all total. Fixtures make this job much easier.

Assuming you’re flat rate but how many hours did you get for this job? And did you do the mechanic work?
curious as to how many 13 inch belts you went through, and how many days of work this represented?
Insurance would write that so fast here lol
You have to buy your own consumables? (drill bits, sand paper, wire wheels....)
Why is this car not up on dedicated fixtures? Mercedes requires this for all structural work.
Yeah that would be a hell no job,,straighten the legs,repair the damage to them and out the door,,with that amount of strip down your getting into structural integrity
Unless you pocketed $10,000 on your pay check for that part of the repair, it was not worth doing. Let them junk it.

Hurts just watching. Someone doesn't know how to write an estimate for what it takes to get his fixed. Should have been a total loss no matter how new it was.
