Think of why Michael Jackson Thriller album was a big deal. The man sold 70 million copies worldwide. This was in 1983 with no internet and no streaming. The man was put in the Guinness Book of world record 28 times. So the number of Grammy wins don't touch the surface of how big of a star Michael Jackson was. To bad this history maker was bogged down in so much controversy

Thriller didn't sell all of those albums in 1983.... it was 20+ million for a years.... then it passed 30 million....the 70+ million mark is to date, over time.

Because since 2003 grammy has been adding more categories for black music (when beyonce came as solo). The black music including 4 genres : R/B, urban R/B, hiphop & rap. Each category has around 5 category. In 2003 bey got nominee for new category for rap/sung collaboration. In 2005 Mariah also got new category : traditional R/B (song Mine again). In the 90s Rap had only 2 categories but this day Rap has 5 categories. So today all those 4 black music has >20 categories. That's why jay, bey & kanye has many chances to win in such categories

Who cares about the Grammys? They have committed huge injustices throughout the years. As Jay Z said in the 2024 Academy Show, some people were robbed, some don't deserve to be in certain categories, and some don't even deserve to be nominees. We all know the iconic Mariah Carey, who was robbed by the Academy of Sciences and Arts multiple times, just like many others. They don't have credibility anymore!🤦🏻‍♂️ We know so many talent people and bands as Abba, Queen... who never been honored at the Grammys, but Beyonce has 32, and Taylor has 14 statuets, that's is completely insane and inappropriate, it's a shame to them!🤦🏻‍♂️

Michael Jackson won 13 grammys and 8 of them were won just in one night for one album. I think if he hadn't to fight with deceases and allegations through his lifetime. He would have won more than these. He just had so many struggles in his life which were obstacle to him to achieve more than these. As some people said earlier, Grammy is not everything. There is one thing that makes me surprised that even after passing out, there so many million subscribers in his KZread channel and many other platforms, which even artists ,who are live , haven't got that much yet. Always stays in our hearts ❤

Because Whitney, Celine & Mariah mostly did pop in the 90's. Even they only did a few collaborations. Before 2000 pop music had only 3 categories such as male/female pop vocal, pop album, pop duo & group Since 2003 (when beyonce came as solo artist) grammy has been adding many categories in 3 black music : R/B, rap & hiphop. each music has minimum 4-5 categories. Even now R/B has added another contemporary (urban) R/B Well, that's certainly giving many benefits for black music. That's why Jay Z, bey, rihanna, kendrik & eminem got so many nominees & finally can win a lot Honestly, we know actually whitney got so many nominees but she only win 6 ? Then how we see now some grammy darlings easily win ? Isn't it ironic ?

But to be honest, if you really want to be accurate, mathematically speaking, you can never out number your nominations, you can only match them. so even songs that won should still be listed as nominated. because you have to be nominated to win

Beyonce being the highest Grammy winner 32 and 88 nominations is based off her father once being in the Academy Committee. That's the compensation that comes with it. This is just unfortunate, because a lot of artists that deserves the Grammy that was given to Beyonce, ends up having their drive killed when they lose to her. Beyonce is good performer, but i don't really see that IT factor that made her more awarded than MJ or even Rihanna, can you imagine that WHAT'S MY NAME AND WORK both featuring drake did not win a Grammy? Well the truth is bitter and lies is better off for those who covers the truth. But time will tell.

Most of these grammy are in category that has less impact in world entertainment back then ans now. Whitney, celine, Mariah songs has and still impacting lives.
