"It's almost like its own language" - 100% true. I was trying to explain to my brother how excited I was that I picked up a 5-star blessing for my Godseeker Aniri, allowing her and Walking Tomb Dreng to duo Sand Devil Stage 25 and farm oils and chaos dust so that I can ascend my gear... and then I realized I might as well be speaking German, for all the sense that makes to somebody who doesn't play RAID. But if you know, you know.

10:00 Two further ideas 1) Seeing the lifetime stats of a champion shows me part of my relationship to the character over time. Ie: How many enemies killed, how many icegolems killed, how many units revived etc. Sense of pride, sharing with others. I think Dota2 does this really well. 2) Visual effects for stuff we work on. Eg if we are building resistence, to see this visually when something is resisted rather than just the word. Another example would be in warframe how depending on how much critical damage you do, the damage numbers change colour (white -> yellow - > orange -> Red), and "red crits" are really sought after due to dopamine hit.

I think there should be a group of trolls as an easter egg in the new game. One should definitely be inspired by Chosen. Other 2-3 could be other top content creators involved, maybe HH and ASH? They should talk and have visual references to the creators. HH with a bandana, Chosen with a math graph and a cat, ASH with a tank top and a baseball cap.

I've worked with a number of great UXers and it's so interesting that you're having the exact same conversations we have when developing large finance applications. The UX of an app is so important and you know it's great when you don't think about it. Also totally agree that the numbers of heals and damage are super important. It's so satisfying seeing that big crit hit land. Also helps understand where your team might be lacking and how it functions as a whole. Great work as always, appreciate the continued insights into game development.

The best UI I've seen was on desktop Runescape. Jagex put in an editor which allows all windows to be placed anywhere, where they have tabs to enable/disable tabs & move them to other windows, then save the setup. It's possible to have multiple layouts, say 1 for bossing, 1 for skilling, etc. The result, however, is that most players setup 1 layout and then don't touch it every again. So, it was a lot of work to develop but didn't get used much. The main thing was to move the chat box, by default it was at the top of the screen, where I wanted it at the bottom. In fact the biggest UI optimization is to be able to move/resize chat so it can be on screen but not in the way depending on what you happen to be doing.

Games like Neverwinter Nights Online allows you to completely customize the interface, adding or subtracting elements and moving things around. Farbstoff seems to be a master of the user interface experience. Hopefully you can add him as well. RSL Helper is sublime. Regarding story, Raid did give us all yearly recaps, which are cool stories. But I always thought it would be cool to create a video of your game experience, lasting an hour or so, pulling in your characters into gameplay and the cinematics. Would be cool for people to download their stories and watch them.

Tutorials should be ranging between 3-5 mins of core mechanics, but you could also add like raids missions tab to continue the tutorial maybe to help a player get their 1st 6 star, during missions you could show different areas with a mini tutorial as you go, player can do it on their own time if needed but also rewarded at the same time by getting their 1st 6 star and rewards to help on route

One of the things that Raid does right with its tutorial is, when you unlock new features in the game, they give you the OPTION to go check it out now or to skip. To me that is great. If I’m having fun progressing through campaign and you force me to disengage with it to go check out a different game mode, I’m going to be agitated. Also, because you’re forcing me to interact with it now, I’m not likely in the mood to absorb any of the new information you’re bombarding me with. I just want to get through it so I can get back to the thing I was enjoying before you yanked me out of my fun. This was one of my biggest annoyances with Eternal Evolution. I hated how they did it that way. Raid does it right, and you guys should absolutely do it that way too. Give me the tutorial on the new game mode when I decide I’m ready to engage with it, because by then I’ll be ready and willing to learn it and I’ll be much more likely to absorb the information.

Please add numbers into HP bars and some effects stacks. For example, in Raid SL some champs have passives that increase/decrease stats (like Ninja increase own attack, Taras decrease attack of opponent) but UI has no indication how much stack of these effects currently apply( These effects stack also could be visually indication like weapon of the champion start glowing more and more when stack increase

I don’t know how possible this is but if u could add a basic color pallet from which u can customize certain champs or ui ingame and further down the line selling cosmetics as part of the game would help with feeling like it is ur unique character

Other way to deal with cinematic is like you unlock the story and after you finish Play there's a place where all the story are and you can give like some crystals if you watched

@@FatelessGames not at all, i think is more a chore to have to be skipping multiple times just to get to the next fight I play a game were they called Memories or something like that, after you play as much as you want, you finish all dailies then you can go to Memories and watch the cinematics or skipped and you have a little reward for doing so I think is a better way because it's not in the moment when i just want to fight is after when you have more time

You mentioned colors for different things and choices and reasons for using or not, there is also a comment from someone about a basic color pallet to allow players to change colors of champs or the ui if I recall correctly. My thought is about color as well as my eyesight is declining I have trouble most often with text, if there isn't enough contrast between the text itself and the background it can be very difficult or nearly impossible to read, I actually quit playing EE for that reason. Maybe a choice of a high contrast color combinations could be possible, if needed. Just a thought. P.S. For me personally a white background is the worst.

I normally stop instantly playing a game when they overwhelm you instantly with 20 different currencies for each part of the game and its just over complicated for no reason - like collect 10 diamonds from boss 1 and 10 scrolls from boss 2 and 10 wood from boss 3 then you can upgrade your gem core , if you upgrade your gem core 10 times times then you can upgrade your boots to level 2 by using your book of speed.

In Raid I'm beyond tired of the popup to click for combat tips that really only tells you to gear your champions. That wasn't even a good combat tip when I started playing and years later even less so. And that stupid pop-up is right over part of the UI I may need to be clicking on. It makes me want to pull my hair out at times. Fateless, please don't make me more bald.
