I 100% agree with your comment on the ease of carry. If a light isn't easy to carry it's just going to spend time in my drawer.
Strange that the output level jumps from 150 to 800 lumens. A 350 lumen, 8 hour mode would be useful like the Fenix PD36R Pro has.

I 100% agree with this statement.
Man, Olight is really tough for me. They get a lot of things right, especially size and UI. But the proprietary batteries and the lack of emitter choice really ruins it for me, considering their price. My favorite Olight is definitely the warrior mini series because of how good that tail switch is, and their emitter choice really suits that type of light. My other favorite thing is that they always fit the Tale of Knives sheaths, like you said! Otherwise, I really need better emitters. Great analysis, I've been loving the content!

Brown Warrior mini 2s is my edc, and it is everything I need, but you are right. They just have to fix a couple things. 1) Proprietary charging is the worst, This could be very easily fixed by putting a USB-C port right on the battery (This exists, but not for OLight's proprietary battery). When I would very rarely need to charge the light but not be somewhere my olight chargers are kept (Home/Car/Bag) it would be nice to have the option. 2)Lockout should not ever disable a full tailpress. I should be able to carry it locked and instantly yank it out and blind an aggressor or an animal without unlocking. Hard tailpress is also something that NEVER happens accidentally, so no loss. I would settle for it just not locking out the Hold to activate full tailpress, so even if you do manage to accidentally turn it on, it turns off when you are no longer pressing it. Everything else is just fine. Even having to use a rangerband to keep the clip on more securely...then I have a rangerband at all times, so not even a negative.

@@BrokenCurtain which is nice, but their emitter still isn't super high CRI. I can also get a similarly sized Convoy light which takes $6 batteries (as opposed to $24) for around $20 and pick any emitter I want basically. Olights are good lights, there are just so much better options

@@buckcherry2564 Since I have a large collection of Olights I have invested in many of their charging accessories (yes extra bucks for them!). I have the key ring charging base that accepts USB-C. It's with me all the time! Also the USB-C to magnetic charging connector on a small storage reel. I'll certainly agree that USB-C is the more universal way to go for flashlight charging. 👍🔦👍
I picked out the olight seeker 2 because per output the emitters on it seemed to be the most efficient for how much power they consumed , only reason I wouldn’t switch to the baton or a newer seeker is the safety dimming feature I have started embers with my seeker and like keeping it amoungst my tertiary fire starting methods (need to practice my fresnel lense more)
Like that holster. Will try & make one then. Cheers.!
This is a very well spoken video, I needed to see, not wanted to see, there's a difference. I now know, purchase direction,🔦. Guided, to the lighted truth. Torch on brudder.
I was hoping it would be more of a thrower when I first got it like my mini baton 3 but now I'm loving it's more floody but still throwy enough beam paired with the crazy long run times.
I've recently discovered your channel and its helped me in so many ways to cut down on the number of items I have to take to work with me every day. I'm so grateful for that. The issue I'm running into now, as are my employees, is basic toolkit storage. We've tried everything from backpack tool storage to electrician style tool bags. For the big stuff we use packout obviously but for something to just have in the truck all the time for your basic tool kit I'm at a loss. Do you have any recommendations or advice on this topic? Keep up the good work and just know there's lots of guys out there that really appreciate your channel!

I think a zip pocket toolroll bridges the gap nicely. I've had that recommend to me often. They fit alot.. keep things organized..and best of all is that they are fast to load back up.
I have the baton 2 and the things great. Only problems is the beam looks terrible. Super uneven. That and you need to drop a magnet on your battery of choice to make it work. Other than that, favorite flashlight. Brightness is great and modes aren't annoying to use.
love this video and man i wish i had these lights some real beauties lol
Once again, the only thing holding me back from jumping on these newer lights is the lack of a tail switch. If they somehow had a version that did, I'd be all over them. Until then, Warrior Mini (1 and 2) all the way. I do like that they're making smaller lights for the 21700 though.

I can't stand tailswitch lights for some reason
Something that REALLY bugs me is that I saw a report that the emitter is dead neutral on tint... even rosy on turbo! All the while the original 3 Pro is sitting on the old green/yellow SST-40, and I suspect Olight had better emitters available. I doubt many want to (or can) upgrade so quickly just for a feature or two. (That shake for power level looks interesting though) Side note: is there really that little difference in size? The pictures, and even Olight themselves indicate the Max is significantly bigger... I carry mine directly over my earbuds, so I suspect the half inch increase would be important. One of the reasons I was willing to go with the 3 Pro was because it was similar in size to the i5T.
Where did you get that leather sheath?
I tend to carry 2 baton 3 with 3d printed diffusers, 2 Perun 2 mini and 1 Marauder 2 Mini in my worklaptop backpack.. I like the lightweight lights for general use and I have a couple of 10,000mah power banksin the backpack for recharging phones, headphones, flashlights etc. I was going to buy the NW Baton 3 Pro Max but forgot to checkout. Is the baton 3 pro max capable of sticking to a metal surface at right angle?
Greetings from the UK, I am a great fan of Olite kit and found your review very useful, thank you. Please could you give me details of your leather carrying wallet, and which is you multi tool EDC. many thanks, I look forward to more in the future. Yes I have subscribed, well worth it!
Had I not bought the Pro (Nw) last month....perhaps at the end of the year during the Black Friday sale ...get a Pro Max in CW. :)
What TOK holster was that? I have the Baton 3 pro max and not sure which holsters fit it . They all seem a bit small from their specs .
I gotta be able to carry extra/ change batteries with at least 1000 lumen. I have the streamlight protec. And they just came out with the protec 2. Olney reason I haven't dropped the 130$ on it is the lack of extra battery. It has new inter changeable batteries But they don't have them for sale yet. It completely meets my criterias though. The problem with olight is no interchangeable battery.
I’m torn between getting a higher cri black one and the magnesium one. I wouldn’t dislike the cool white, I’m just torn lol

I passed on the Baton 3 Pro Max... I was tempted, but I noticed it had the shortest beam distance of all of the lights on the table @ 475ft. (Warrior 3S = 984ft; Warrior Mini 2 = 722ft; Baton 3 Pro = 574ft; Baton 3 = 544ft)

I really like your take on the B3PM. Max, Thanks. May I ask what sheath that is? Ps I know your name isn’t max but it’s your channel name soooo…???
Love all your videos! Even after watching, I think I’ll stick with the Warrior Mini 2. It’s been my edc for 1.5+ years and really fits in the hand and jeans pocket extremely well. I’ve got several Baton 3’s with the charging cases which are great backups, but the thickness of the flashlight in pocket combined with the shorter length isn’t comfortable. In use/hand, I also prefer the longer length plus the pocket clip flipped to the tail on the WM2.

Yep! The WM2 is too close to perfect to buy anything new at the moment in my opinion. A little shorter and narrower head would make it more comfortable it pocket. I managed to get a black clip for mine which makes it even better 😋

I'm still rocking the OG warrior mini in titanium. I keep it locked when carrying because there is no sensor. Won't upgrade until they release a new one in Ti. I absolutely hate the Ti lights olight is releasing with snow flakes on it, looks like it came from the dollar bin at the arts and craft store.

That looks like a nice light, but... Does it use a STANDARD 21700, or is it proprietary to Olight, for example with both conductors on the front, so it can't be charged in a standard charging bay?

Perfekte Backup Lampe!! Grüße aus dem Rheinland Johannes

Fenix has a good thrower, the HT18. If you can find one, it won't break the bank and it isn't big and bulky. 1500 lumens, 214k candela!
Everything's great about the Pro Max, except the beam profile, for me. Love the high cap battery, lumens, side switch interface. However, the extremely difuse beam gets swallowed up quickly on an average dark street or open field. The Warrior 3S, even being a bit longer, has better reach while still having nice spill. Thanks for your review! 👍🔦👊

Since flashlights don't have the same problem as knives if we ever get searched by police officer, I think this size is a good idea. The knife in the other hand I would go 2.75 inches blade length at max.

Why...?
@PowerMadHeadBanger
Жыл бұрын
@@nunyabizness3882 a small flashlight means a small battery which means a short runtime. I like the compactness of small flashlights and I do have them in some small survival kits but they have a very short runtime. Personally I think that having low lumens with a long runtime is more beneficial than having turbo for a short period of time. In other words I put the runtime as most important. A big flashlight delivers a big runtime.

Surefire is overpriced and no more reliable or bright than Fenix or Olight..need I say more? $224 for the Ultra and it uses 123 batteries ✌️ it isn't even rated waterproof or resistant If this light supports rechargeable type CR123 batteries, that helps a little but 1K lumens for this price is not practical for 99% of us
I'm returning my Max. The output does not mean much to me when it's so distributed over a large area. It's like having a more powerful shotgun and shell that spreads the blast and yet so much of misses what you're aiming at. It just doesn't appeal to my needs and wants. I'd rather have a slight spread with focus that hits the target.

hah, good point for those it might concern. I didnt think about that, ive never tried messing with my automatic watches using a magnet, granted they would be on the opposite wrist of my carry side. I do like having a magnetic flashlight on me though. Ive tied a line to mine and used it to grab metal things from the river when out fishing, or screws from behind the toolbench. Glad I swapped away from sensitive/delicate watches for sure!
lol wow so thats why those lights cost more lol
I think In this video you spent to much time focusing on your bias towards the *3 Pro max* because of how it works with "your eco system based around a specific sheith". If you put the *Baton 3 pro* and *pro max* side by side you begin to see that they are less so competitors for each other, and more so catering to different purposes. The *3 pro* has a longer beam distance. And twice the moonlight mode life (120 days) and arguably the biggest point that can be made, The *3 pro* can be pocket carried almost unnoticed still. Where's the *pro max* has now jumped into the category of being to big without the use of an EDC carry case.
Batan 3 Pro has MUCH better throw
Wish the pro max threw a little further. To me flood light is for head lamps.
More Olight junk. Appeals to people that are ignorant of other brands that offer more for less without proprietary garbage that assures Olight that their money train will stay on track. The Wurkkos TS25 shits all over that light and runs same battery size, anduril 2, is .5” shorter, non proprietary and cost 40 bucks with the battery. Olight needs to be ashamed of themselves.
