The speaker cable is the Procab LS40. I ordered them at the bax shop for 4.61 euro the meter. I bought them on advice of a longtime subscriber who told me that this speaker cable is better as much more expensive dedicated high end speaker cable...I wonder how this cable compare to the Van den Hul Magnum speaker cables what Ivar is using with a price of 50 euro a meter.

So what did you think of these amps? I was waiting to hear your thoughts on them but your video ended too soon. Any update?

the number 80 what you saw when turning on the pre amplifier was the volume level. When you turn the preamp out it remember the last volume level so when switching on it start with that volume level

Thats a nice view, thats an even nicer rig your setting up there! Never heard of the amp company either, the specs look pleasing. I could be wrong but thats probably on the borderline of max safe wattage for those bookshelf speakers, id be easy on the vol knob. Great idea on the speaker wire too! Id honestly just go with a pure copper screw on type connector and be done with it.

Hello Mr. Barista, It looks like you are having fun. I love the big blue power meters on the amplifier. Wonder why companies seem to all use the color blue? Blame McIntosh I guess, lol. Google says Advance is from France. Looking forward to your review. Cheers from Canada !

I am having fun 😀 And yes they are from France (maybe that’s why they are called Advance Paris 😉) - Don’t know about the blue color. You would at least expect multiple colors in today’s RGB world 🙂

Grtn Peter

why you not connect the pre amp and the amp with xlr cable? Is it better or no? Thank You

Hi, I tried both and I did prefer the ‘normal’ interconnect. It was an extremely cheap XLR cable so that might have something to do with it also. I have no XLR equipment so I could not try another cable.

Hello ,for somebody who claims to be a audiophile I really cannot understand this fascination with VU meters. In my modest opinion they are rather showy and completely useless.,but I may be wrong of course

Many people like the looks of them. A feeling of nostalgia. - Did you notice that none of my own equipment has them? 😉 - Their purpose is to indicate how hard the power amp is working.

I think this question is for me. I never question another persons taste.....I drink my coffee with milk and sugar, there are people who don't understand that I drink my coffee this way....but about taste there can never be a discussion. If everybody have the same taste it would be a boring society. Why do Accuphase and McIntosh still use VU meters. Why does the new Technics SE-R1 cost 14000 euro and have very big VU meters.....because a big part of the audio lovers do like their amps with VU meters... You think as the designers of Bryston....."All the costumer get from us is the sound and nothing else...I think that 99% of all amplifier builders are totally out of reach what the costumers really want. Even in the 70's we had the possibility to choose between black ore chrome versions considering marantz and pioneer receivers....Accuphase wants 12.000 for a amplifier but you can't get it in black ore chrome???? These companies can do so much better...remember the Willsenton R8, it came for that low price in different colors....If willsenton can do it why a 20.000 costing amp doesn't give you that choice? I hear you thinking...color is not important, looks are not important, vu meters are not important, only the sound.......but that's you

@@vintagestereo Hello Andrew You argue that tastes differ and that that is a good thing otherwise the world would be a boring place . I agree and therefore it is a good thing me NOT agreeing with you on the subject of VU meters. However I do take my coffee with milk and sugar as well . Have a nice day!
