LOVE old Bibles!!! A well worn Bible was loved, cried over, prayed over, and carried about by a virtuous person. I happen to own several that belonged to grandparents and great grandparents, and even an 1860's hymnal with my great grandmothers favorite hymns earmarked. ❤
The pin is a stick pin. Ladies wore on their jacket lapels. Good finds.

Yes, it is a stick pin. Those were popular in the late 70s, early 80s, and I owned a few of them. My favorite was a butterfly stick pin, which I wore a lot. It seems it's an accessories style that comes & goes through the years!!!

Yes I Get Very Excited to go Thrifting, Estate Sales are my FAVORITE 🤩
Too funny...I had checked out a gardening book months back and could not remember the title, and then you pulled it out while looking for books at the first thrift store! It was the Square Foot Gardening Book; now I can go back to the library and check it out again! Our two Goodwill stores here in Bloomington have been lean pickings as well. Even the bins in a town 45 minutes away have been disappointing. The blue plate is my favorite find of yours! As always, it's a pleasure to watch you share your purchases!

My puppy chewed the corner like that on a hymnal "I borrowed" from our church at the time, (while I went to the kitchen to answer our dial wall phone). Had to buy the church a new hymn book (not under compulsion by them ..ha ha!..but I still have that hymnbook....not the puppy ....long gone❤

Love your haul.
Your nut cracker is actually a crab cracker set. The other pieces in the set are to dig the the crab out of the shell. I have a set. Mine is a wood bowl and has slots for 3 “crackers” and 6 “diggers”. (Yes, technical terms. lol) I live on the West Coast (Oregon) and we go crabbing all summer long. My set gets lots and lots of use. There is nothing better than fresh crab.

That’s awesome info! Being a landlocked southern girl… a crab cracker would have never entered my mind. Thanks!!
@kristinbrown5683
2 жыл бұрын
Well, I researched it more out of curiosity. We have a walnut tree and I thought that “digger” would work great to wedge the walnut out rather than drawing blood. lol I guess I spend too much time on the coast crabbing because I never thought of using the set for nuts. In fact, we really don’t eat the nuts because it’s too much work. It’s making much more sense now. I use the bowl part to hold extra crab crackers and diggers, but it’s actually to hold nuts! Who knew?! I collect them from yard sales and estate sales, that way everyone has their own. I think I have about 14 now. I also collect those small Pyrex bowls so everyone has their own melted butter. I learned that these tools are definitely used for both. Sets like these, with the bowl, are more for nuts…I think! Too funny!
@shoshonnaissachar5927
2 жыл бұрын
I heartily disagree....or perhaps that is what they call it on the coasts, but we had one from Montgomery Ward's bought in the 1950's and here in the Midwest and South, the bowl held nuts of all kinds and the men (usually) sat around at the holidays cracking nuts and passing out the nut meats to the kids. I am 73 and it is one of my "bestest" memories.

Hello, this is my first visit to your channel, very interesting indeed. I noticed when you held up the pretty blue and white plate that you found at the Sally Ann, that the mark on the back said just England rather than Made in England. My Dad always used to tell me that the mark with just England meant that the piece was made before 1921. I am not sure if this is true or not and my Dad is gone so I can't confirm with him, so if anyone knows whether or not that is the case with English china, I would really like to know. Again, very entertaining channel, keep up the good work!!
