She's a woman who is truly alive and she nourishes my soul
As a younger mother, this really goes to my heart. Trying to do the best for your children and feeling like a child. The way Adrienne describes the inner monologue of her mother makes me cry every time. What insight, what empathy, what beauty ❤️
I heard this song for the first time smuggling illegal fireworks into the inner city driving the highway for the first time ever passing through the country side with a 6 pack of tall boys, I will never forget that day.
I think the complexity of their music is the thing I like most about them. It's so easy to do just simple, sweet sounding folk music but their songs are layered, intricate like connected bridges that aren't level.

EXACTLY!!! Keep it simple but put some decor on it. 😄
I'm gonna scream violently because this is such a beautiful song
I have decided to only listen to their albums for a period of time so I can dwell in captivity
I think this is the greatest live performance The Current has ever caught.
I know I will cry when I hear this one live. What a band.

still crying to this 4yrs later, such a beautiful piece of art❤️
I already loved this song on the album but hearing it acoustic like this I love it even more. The lyrical storytelling in this blew me away the first time I heard it ; it's rare to find a song like this with such vivid and emotional , raw storytelling. You can feel all the emotion in it and its just so beautiful in every way. And hearing it acoustic . Wow she hits every note impeccably . She has such a great control and tone . Love love love
i’m so so in love with adrianne

you have a mythological beauty you have the eye of someone i have seen outside of ordinary situations even outside of dreams you lie in bed at night and watch the lines of headlights through your screen there is a child inside you who is trying to raise the child in me if you wanna leave you just have to say you're all caught up inside but you know the way you cut the flesh of your left thumb using your boyfriend's knife seventeen you took him home and you gave birth to your first life you gave andrew a family who you thought could love and take better care i have an older brother i don't know he could be anywhere if you wanna leave you just have to say you're all caught up inside but you know the way you're all caught up inside but you know the way rented a house in niswah, minnesota, shrapnel, and oil cans, rhubarb in the yard i built a ladder out of metal pieces father was working hard standing beneath the oak tree by the front door you were inside baking bread sister came out and put her arms around me blood gushing from my head you held me in the backseat with a dishrag soaking up blood with your eye I was just 5 and you were 27 praying don't let my baby die if you wanna leave you just have to say you're all caught up inside but you know the way you're all caught up inside but you know the way you're all caught up inside but you know the way

Mohammad Samman i always thought it was supposed to be intentionally jarring that way. Kindof a detached or disillusioned perspective comes out when its said so candidly.

I heard this song for the first time yesterday but I wasn't really paying too much attention. But I've been listening to THIS version on repeat for about 8 hours now and I would have had no idea about the difference until I went to listen to another version, so thanks for the heads up lol

@@jakehoff52 I agree. I always liked how raw that line was, it fits the story and the grittiness of the experience shes telling . It's not meant to be romantic or anything .

At some point she always looks at James because she knows he is devoted to her. Impeccable vocal. Btw does anybody know the make of the guitar Buck is playing? (it's Adrienne's)

@@soozm8520 As far as I know Adrienne likes women, but it is James who admires her, and she, aware of this, always rewards him with eye contact. Musical respect and more, he knows she has greatness in her.
