Big Style And Tech Updates for the 2024 Cadillac XT4 | MotorWeek Road Test

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Whether it’s 16-cylinder engines in the 1930s or massive tailfins in the 1950s, #Cadillac has long been an automotive trendsetter. They certainly started something with the huge Escalade sport ute back in 1999, and today are known more for their SUVs than the few sedans still in their lineup. But, keeping pace with the rapidly changing luxury crossover utility trend is a challenge. So, let’s find out if an updated #XT4 is up to the task. #CadillacXT4

You mean like Cadillac has been trying to do and failing to do since the 80's? First with Mercedes and then BMW? Man you don't know what you're talking about at all. Cadillac is shell of it's former self and is a joke outside of the Escalade and Blackwing vehicles. Period. No amount of spin or delusion can change that.

@@MercOne No actually. I'd agree with them. You can keep whining and crying for days long gone but the fact is, not many people want a bloated barge from the 1970's. I think Cadillac played a lot of catching up in the 00's, and maybe tripped up on focusing on performance, though the Blackwing is their biggest success I think. I think Cadillac is finding it's niche again with EV's, escpieally with the Lyriq and the Celestiq (even with the Celestiq's heftyyyy price tag). If Cadillac really is as bad as you portray it in your "they're worthless and can't sell a single thing" delusion, they wouldn't get a single car off the lot, which evidently they can do just fine. But after looking at your continued rant's on other comment threads here, you just seem bitter and unhappy. I wish you luck in finding something decent in your life.

@@khalil9611First of all what are you agreeing with? Do you even know what you’re trying to say here? I have to ask if you read because at no point did I say that they couldn’t sell anything. Not once. What I said was that their XT vehicles are nothing products. They lag behind every single competitor in every single class they compete in. This has been proven in review after reviews. Their engines are from Chevy family vehicles, their interiors are cheap junk. Why would anyone buy any XT vehicle over a competing Genesis, Mercedes, BMW or Audi other than price? Trying to cheaply make it about me doesn’t change anything I’ve said. These are pitiful vehicles for the price and for a once proud brand. They’re for people like you and the other poster that go from one extreme to another because there is thinking in place. You guys don’t understand that the best modern luxury vehicles combine decent handling and a good ride. No one said anything about Cadillac needing to offer a floating barge again. What does that have to do with them not being able to offer what the competition offers in the XT space? Do you guys really not understand what being competitive is? Look at the Genesis GV70 or GV80 and then look at the XT vehicles. Get outta here man. Finding their niche again? When was the last time they found a niche and made something out of it? Their EVs don’t stand out in any way. All they have going is the Escalade and the EV version of that if want a 8K lb SUV. Your analysis on both counts is just plain nonsense. Why is it that GM apologists have to project so much when their fav brand is justly criticized? Man pluhhease.

The German rivals cost a bit more but you get what you pay for. Cadillacs have always felt cheap. The Escalade V is ridiculously priced. I can build a new loaded Porsche Cayenne Turbo E hybrid for less money and it would absolutely spank an Escalade in every performance test. Cadillac was relegated to also ran status in the 80s with that FWD, underpowered junk. A few brilliant sports sedans don't make a brand competitive, a full lineup of vehicles is what is required. @@MercOne …I lived through all of past glory and failures but the question was about being competitive and they have been that just maybe not for you. I’ve owned BMW’s in the past and they were handling sedans but like all European cars, you’re paying a premium for that and the fact that no one can claim they were reliable or cheap to maintain. Anything that requires constant maintenance to keep on the road is and always is a luxury money pit, hence why most people lease them with including maintenance coverage. I love drivers cars but I also love cars that don’t constantly cost me money the more I drive them. Lest not forget the European car companies weren’t that nice until they had to fight for their lives because of Lexus and Acura since they arrived in the early 90’s. @@rlhmarines Them being not for me doesn't make the case for them being competitive, unless you're saying that Cadillac is beneath the average luxury car buyer's standards. You'd paid a premium for a better car, that is what a BMW is. Glad you can actually see that. Saying that BMWs were expensive to maintain and unreliable doesn't change the facts that Cadillacs were cheap junk the drove like junk, felt like junk and were unreliable. That doesn't change. The fact that BMW is a alive and thriving today while Cadillac is lost with a lineup of loser vehicles speaks volumes. Doesn't matter if they lease or buy, they're leasing and buying more BMWs then they are Cadillac. Cadillac doesn't even have an answer for most BMWs today behind 2-3 models. I get it, you want a cheap POS like a warmed over Chevy/Buick pretending to be a Cadillac because it's cheap to fix. That is exactly why Cadillac is not taken seriously beyond one model. The Escalade. You are flat wrong about "European" companies. For one they aren't all the same. A Mercedes-Benz was the best car you could buy in the 80s and BMW was the best driving sport wise which is why Lexus, Infiniti and Acura targeted them, NOT Cadillac with their underpowered wheezy V8 FWD heaps. Then the kicker is that even after Lexus, Infiniti and Acura, where are Mercedes and BMW today? TOP of the market. Where is Cadillac? Towards the bottom. Their customers have died and left the brand in droves in the 80's and 90's and they're down to one relevant vehicle, which itself is a variant of a Chevy/GMC. That the Japanese came along and showed the Europeans something does what for Cadillac? Are you paying attention to what you're arguing? BMW and Mercedes sit at the top of the market along with Lexus. Your reason for bringing up the Japanese only shows how pathetic Cadillac was before and it shows how pathetic they are still today. The XT vehicles are junk. The base CT4 and CT5 are nothing cars. None of these vehicles have anything on the competition and the XT vehicles are not better than the Chevy/Buick/GMC vehicles they share all their DNA with. Try again man.
