Putting back to work this 80kg (176lbs) cast iron swage block.
Stand design to use the swage block in both orientation is based of many other I've seen on-line like@skullandspade to name one: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oZOVpZqGYbnVkbg.html
Retractable wheels is my design, so of course it could be better, even just by spacing out the wheels a bit more.

Between the lifting/rolling mechanism and the quick turn for use of the sides, this was ingenious! Well done

I'm not expert on that but I would imagine if you would have used wood it would have been more effective at vibration control it appears that your platform is shaking too much and making a great deal of vibrations and wood is a very good at stopping such things from happening

I worked in healthcare for 32 years, the last half in clinical research; even got my name on a couple research papers. But if I had it all to do over again, I'd be a Blacksmith.. I'm serious.

Grass is always greener on the other side. Haha I know what your saying though. But you probably wouldn't have made the difference it sounds like you have had as a healthcare researcher if you had been a blacksmith. Not saying a blacksmiths work isn't important...

I'm a retired heavy equipment operator, made myself a brake drum forge (with the help of some youtube videos) a few years ago and with a chunk of iron my father gave twenty five years ago for an anvil, I started heating and beating iron. You can too.

Seems like you're tig welding in such a way that you chase the torch hand with the filler hand... Try doing the opposite, lead the puddle and move from right to left, holding the torch in your right, adding filler as you go 😁. I'm sure it'll greatly improve the look and quality of the welds

Soaking it in Muriatic acid for an hour or two is faster & less work. Or you can always use molasses (10% + 90% water to your container size& its safe to put down the drain) & let it sit for 2-3 weeks....rinse of & use a toothbrush. It'll come out black as coal but the rust will be dead forever as long as you protect it from moisture.
