Was a pleasure to witness. The fish all came within a mad short spell of feeding. Gary made the most of it, that’s for sure. Awesome fishing. 🎉

my own PB is 2lb in a match ...just happened to catch it....and a very memorable moment for me i used to fish river eden in kent when i was 17 yrs old... last hour of daylight a roach surfaced in my swim briefly... it musta been 3.5lb easy it was massive... it wasnt a chub... the fins were incredibly Red.. beautifull... 40 years later im back fishing.. and have more patience.. and a desire for a 3lb perch or roach.... extremely rare.. but a nice dream to aim for... nice one

Great video! but just a thought though, you don't want the hook length to close to the feeder because the feeder could damage the fish during the fight.

Brilliant video,, had a 2,5 n 2 on ribble one on feeder in extreme cold which seems to get big fish,, would maggot bolt rigs work on rivers, , still waters up here don't hold meny unless it's syndicate n then they are pike with no bait types, , made it very hard for the average anglers a bit sad .

Setting the bobbin to help indicate the drop backs. He literally tells you that in the video. 🤷‍♂️

Doesn’t look fish safe to me. Not free running if you snap your main line. A float stop and a back lead to pull through.

Float stops pull of easily if done properly.

Mmmm - This rig is no less safe than a typical float rig where the float is locked with shot, with further shot below down to the hook! Also, It is certainly safer than any typical lead clip type carp rig. Incidentally, I’m not saying there is anything wrong with the examples mentioned but I do think people need to be sensible and not just jump on the fish safety bandwagon at every opportunity.. Use balanced gear for any given circumstance and break offs should be minimal AND accept the very fact we stick hooks into fish and then remove them from the water isn't exactly good for our quarry!
