Congrats this is probably the first time you've listened to non-shitty music.

I just love the abstract lyricism. Not everything has to have specific meaning, in fact I would argue that can be a detriment at times.

Wow. Good call. On that, love that he (Vernon) always carries all of himself forward. He's trying to get distance on that really acoustic sound, but he still allows it to manifest when it feels right. I think all important musicians do this. They never amputate any aspect of their musical identity.

Vernon writes lyrics in a rather specific impressionistic way, so there most certainly isn't a uniform meaning of the song. The imagery is strictly evocative, never literal. He discusses this way of writing in his 22 a million interview.
