I don’t understand how a 92% free throw misses but a 54% goes in….

That’s math ! 92% in the long run you will make 92 of 100 and some player that goes for 54 % makes 54 out of 100 ! In a single observation you have a higher chance of making it ! 1% can make it and 99 % can miss

@@lucasanovaif that’s true, then why have I taken like 40 free throws on my 97 free throw build and have missed a 99%, 97%, and multiple 87%(ish, give or take). The percentages are a complete lie when it comes to free throws. Specifically the high rating free throws.

@@kpeterpm Sure. No problem making it more difficult, but it has swung too far in the other direction this year. I miss wayyy to many 80+% and it’s become damn near impossible to green consistently.

I have a 99 FT. I get so many slightly early/late 100%. But the worst is missing a slightly early/late 98%. I’ve missed like 5

I’m shooting around 80% after shooting in the mid to high 90s on 2k23. Perhaps their goal was to make this more realistic but it seems like they’re either somewhat broken or 2K isn’t telling us something because it has never been harder for me to green a free throw and I have an 80 rating.

They said all percentages were brought into nba real life shooting percentages so it makes sense that the best you could do is 85 to 90% with over 75 free throw rating. Sqaud member with 99 free throw NEVER misses.

You have to hold the shot button super long on some free throw animations also make sure you wait for your stamina fills up before shooting it. Regardless of attribute.

Free throws seem completely random. I use MJ and it was always consistent. Now I probably shoot 70% when I used to shoot in the 90s in previous 2ks

Explains a lot. I switched my que from set point to release a while back and noticed an enormous difference in ft %

Its beyond visual que, I shoot with meter and no matter what railing I have from 82-87 I still miss a lot. The closer you get to the green window the less stable the release is on the attempt.

I was consistently making my freethrows before the big patch now after it i miss the same ones at a higher rate so much i had to change my free-throw animation

I realized this bc I use a slower free throw n get fouled a lot. But even though I’ve noticed my green window is at the release of the free throw, there is still a small amount of randomness of make percentage

Video suggestion: Lakerfan just recently posted a video revealing the changes of attribute cost in the MyPlayer builder. I realized this feature within the first couple of weeks upon release. But didn’t think too much of it because I know 2k was pushing towards diversity and balance. Apparently the attribute costs towards “99” are significantly greater on your build if you are greatly invested in that specific category rather than a category that you have fewer upgrades in. For example if I have an ample amount of upgrades in my finishing category, it would cost more overall to upgrade post control per-say to a high attribute. Opposed to if I have minimal attributes in finishing, and I just wanted to have 92 post scoring it would only cost my build about 1 overall. Your videos are very informing and analytic Hopefully you could figure out how to put all this into numbers. Watch Lakerfan’s video to have a better understanding of what I am talking about

No it’s a consistency or bug issue. I’ll shoot a free throw with 80 percent or more and miss but make one with a 50 or 60 percent. There’s no rhyme or reason to why one goes in over the other it Just happens.

Hey can you do a test on if there is a timing penalty or change for starting the shot before the ball is in your hands

I'll miss a 92% free throw but someone can come in the rec with a low free throw and make both. I've seen ppl hit 27% free throws. Swear it makes me wanna launch the controller threw the tv smh

Been using MJ's free throw since 2K16. Can't seem to green consistently this year but since I release it at about the same point I did in previous years, my whites mostly go in, anyway. Have a 71 Free Throw for the Bronze Free Points badge, which was more than enough in previous years. Seems like 71 Free Throw isn't as good this year tho

Free throw Green Window ist just borderline random. I saw to many 100% timing, without shot meter, not going green. Or very close back to back releases and the % jump wild around. I saw nobody this far who can green consistent free throws even with 80+.

Feels like its more up to 2k this year. What I notice with the guys that make those low percentage FTs consistently is that they are for the most part "bad" players. My theory is 2k wants them to get some easy points so they dont lose motivation

@@conayoll hahaha noticed the same thing. I shoot like 40-43% and its not like im an automatic bucket from 3 but whenever I get matched up against these 20ish % 3 point shooters (even lower sometimes) they turn into Stephen Curry and make every single open 3 they get😂

2k needs to add more attribute category’s, there should be shooting off dribble, lateral quickness, if they really wanna get detailed add in preferred dunk hand etc

@@tidepods2004 it’s actually real basketball analytics and stats, some people are better shooting off dribble then catch & shoot, some people better at going right then left, & for example John wall is right handed but dunks with preferred left

@@lilpronto3627 doesn’t mean it would work well in game It’s like adding a body heat slider The hotter your character gets the more stamina it drains “Oh I invested a majority of my attribute points into my left hand, let me just do that the whole game”. Excessive imo

@@tidepods2004 they shouldn’t do that but they could adjust there shooting by stamina throughout the game the more you score and the later in the quarters it gets itll be harder to shoot, instead jumpshot changing throughout the whole game make it when we’re actually tired down the stretch. If there going for realistic this is what they’ll lean towards
