Hi Guys ! Fascinating question - "what replacement would you buy ?" If it's 50 year's old - then it's an old FJ40 LandCruiser from the '70s. Great choice.

As a general rule I find if there are woopies it's not that soft. Soft sand usually settles. Usually woopies are where people think it's soft and floor it or they have too much pressure and floor it. I usually let tyres down a bit more and just creep up to save the car.

Good stuff mate. Easy drive up big sand. If/When you make it to NT, there are roads you don't want to drop tyre pressures on. The rocks are known for chewing sidewalls out. Not even BFG's are safe from it. Thats some bloody good lookouts you got there. might have to add it to the bucket list.

I was concreting at the time & worked on that swimming pool doing the sculptured rocky waterfall & the tunnelled mountain over the middle section of the pool. It’s sad what has happened at the Iwasaki Resort, its more like Jurassic Park now days.
