Metroid Prime 4 premiere gameplay, a new 2D Zelda, or a new DK game (2D or 3D) will make Nintendo steamroll right over these presentations... at least for me...

I just hope it comes out this week. I don't want to wait until after Sunday 16th, which is Father's Day, to get the Direct on say Wednesday 19th. Xbox has had there Showcase and Sumer Games Fest has happened. We need the Nintendo Direct soon rather than later in the month.

I do think a new DK game is actually likely as whenever a new Mario vs DK game released it was usually around a new DK series game, and would you like at that a Mario vs DK released this year…

A DK "Odyssey" would be Awesome

With how Nintendo likes to hold onto finished games until the most opportune time, it's highly likely they got something up their sleeve. Nintendo doesn't just have their philosophy be, all our games are to be released as soon as they are done! I don't think Nintendo is saving big titles for Switch 2....they have their Switch 2 exclusives that they are not going to show yet obviously. But they have had devs working on multiple projects, some on Switch 1 and some on Switch, much like in the past where they had their devs making handheld games and home console games. There is still games that have been in the works for 3 years or so that we haven't seen yet. Nintendo's wheel is always spinning. What could the big surprise be? Who knows. But they still have A tier games coming. Prime 2 and 3, and stuff like Pokemon Z-A and Professor Layton and a new Mario Party. And a hot take, that people will disagree with but I don't care, Prime 4 doesn't need the Switch 2. It will release and be running the best it possibly can and look the best it possibly can on the Switch. People are never satisfied and want MORE, always MORE. It being on Switch 2 wouldn't actually effect anything other then loading times being a bit faster. The art style determines the final look. So Switch 2's power wont effect the final visual look.

Switch 1 doesn't need any more big games it's got enough over the last 7 plus years

A new DK game would be great but imo they can’t achieve their sales targets without a console price drop. At this point, everyone who can afford a Switch already has a Switch, it’s time to unlock a whole new customer segment.

I'm surprised you didn't mention mario galaxy 2?

That would be a remaster and not a big new game for Switch 1. Maybe we could see it sometime though.

My ultimate wishlist for the remainder of Switch 1: -Metroid Prime 2 Remastered (& perhaps 3 as well) along with the first gameplay/release window of Prime 4 👾 -New or Remake of 2D Zelda (or Wind Waker and/or Twilight Princess) 🏰 -New 3D Donkey Kong (similar to Mario Odyssey) with King K. Rool & the Kremlings 🐊 -New Mario Baseball ⚾ -New Mario Party 🎉 -Mario Galaxy 2 HD🌠 -Star Fox Adventures and/or Assault Remastered 🦊 -F-Zero GX Remastered -Kid Icarus: Uprising Remastered 👼 -Updated NSO Roadmap for N64 & GBA (would love for GCN to be added but don't see that happening until Switch 2) 🎮

The only big game/project I can think of is Metroid Prime 4

Not sure why people think switch is getting cut off. Switch 2 is backwards compatable and our accounts are just moving forward. If Nintendo can 30fps a game for Switch they will. 😊

Ngl Andres, I'm sure Mario Party is a big title compared to what might be left in their current Switch 1 backlog. The last one sold 20 mil, so I think another one might do better than some of their smaller series. That being said bring on Metroid Prime 4, and hopefully new 2d Zelda and something Star Fox related pls.

I just don’t see Nintendo over complicating themselves more over making dual versions of Pokémon Legends ZA. It’s stated for 2025, I would be okay with just a switch 2 version if game freak had a dev kit for switch 2 for making the game why use more resources to make two versions. Also Pokémon company usually doesn’t give updates on announced titles in Nintendo directs it’s saved for Pokémon directs later in the year. Lastly i think legends Za comes out in spring 2025 there’s no rush to make it for switch 1 , i would think as a investor you would want to build sales and copies for a shiny new game just do it on the successor.

I'm one of these people that still expects Metroid Prime 4 to be on Switch 1. Its why i bought the Switch to begin with.

Some times the hardware capacity makes for level design and gameplay elements that aren't possible to keep on another less powerful hardware. So I prefer for them to focus on a switch 2 release with amazing level design and gameplay. Nintendo didn't promised it would be released on switch, they said they were working on prime 4. At no moment they said it would be a switch game.

Yea I’m thinking prime 4 is going to be on switch 2 if ppl have been paying attention metroid prime 4 has been a nightmare of development for Nintendo they had to start all over way back when they announced it in 2017 and had to do a full redevelopment so I doubt it’s coming on the Switch it’s probably 2025 on switch 2 imo

@@outright4697 I agree, and added to the Metroid development hell, consoles take time to develop, it's probably they already had an idea about the next system at some point after they restarted the project, if the project was still in middle development or early, it was probably easy to start focusing on what the next system would be, like how multiple N64 games became GameCube games middle development. If we look at the older games development window and compare to Metroid prime 4 at first it doesn't add up, prime 4 was in development at the peak of switch popularity. But modern games take much more time to develop, it wouldn't be strange if they thought "oh shit this game still needs 4 or 5 years to develop, it's better to look where Nintendo hardware will be not what we have today."

@@outright4697 and as a Metroid fan I'm not even mad, I want the best game they can make, if the new hardware will allow they to make a better game, I'm in favor of it being a next gen game. I saw someone commenting about an insider who saw something about the game and he said the levels were vast almost like an open world game. If they are doing it with graphics like Metroid prime remaster or better then the switch wouldn't be able to run the game, to make a version that could run would be necessary to do extensive extra work and downgrade, I don't think it worth the effort. Also we got an amazing remake of prime 1, and Metroid dread. At this point I just wish we would get a prime 2 and 3 remaster too (I doubt) and an amazing prime 4 on the next system.

Didn't the Odyssey team worked on 3D World + Bowser's Fury?

For those that have said that Nintendo have cancelled Metroid Prime 4 for the switch and only for the next console. That doesn’t make any sense. They did not spend all that money and time just to cancel the game for switch. That’s like saying Nintendo canceled Zelda of breath of the wild for the Wii U and only for the switch even though it was for both consoles the Wii U and the switch. At the point, I believe the next 3d Mario games and probably a new Mario kart is probably going to be for the next console. I once thought that an another 3d Mario game until Mario odyssey was going to be on switch until 2020 and I realized that I was probably wrong. I believe if there is new games for the switch than it will probably be one of their small franchises like the new peach game or more remasters and remakes not that that’s a bad thing since usually when a console is at the end of its life, more remasters and remakes tend to happen and as well as smaller games and not necessarily the bigger franchises. But as for the next console, I somewhat always believe that the next console would be or come out in 2024 or 2025 since 2020 or 2021 and not 2026, 2027, or 2027 like some people believe.

I bet Next Mario Party will be a Sequel to Mario Party Superstars or Deluxe Edition of it that will get Announced in the upcoming June General Nintendo Direct along with Nintendo Switch Sports Sequel !!!!!

I think a project X zone 3 would be a perfect way to end the switch.

The most interesting news today is that *Perfect Dark* got the first gameplay reveal, more than three years after it was announced. I actually did not recognize that it was Perfect Dark because the graphics look so utterly different from the original N64 game. I wonder if the Metroid Prime 4 gameplay reveal will have the same effect, considering it's been over 16 years since the release of Metroid Prime 3.

Not gonna lie both ps direct and xbox direct were fantastic so many amazing new games were shown. Hopefully, Nintendo direct won't disappoint. Out of the big 3 Nintendo is the one that's so far behind in term of AAA games.

Well the Xbox one was excellent. The PS showcase was really mid. Actually really lackluster with only 1 or 2 standout games shown.

Waaaaaa? Sony's was a big old flop lol. The only thing they had was AstroBot at the end.... Sony's State Of Play gets a 3/10. Xbox's Showcase gets a 5/10. It was 85% all games that look the exact same and are next year or later lol. Doom and the Gears was basically the main things there. I give credit to Xbox for not having stupid filler babble of diversity talks lol. Xbox's show was okay, it was watchable, but by no means was it good.

Most games looked the same, had no release date or were next year, and were the usual CGI trailers with no gameplay....Doom and Gears was about it. And Gears had no date, not even a 2025, which means it's 2026 lol. Frankly Gears should have ended after 3.

They like to pretend to be a Nintendo fan, but always says stuff like, "Poor Nintendo, they're way behind on AAA games, and the Switch is dying." This took says the same crap over and over. Also, why did the diversity talk bother you? Different people do deserve games.
