Sadly, I am still in the dream stage of yacht owning, but since falling down this rabbit hole I have learned quite a lot about the yachting world from you, Nautistyles, and Aquaholic....you guys really know your stuff and make dreaming seem almost like, "Well, maybe next week."

The side decks are intriguing. It looks like they are still there, the space has not been used in the saloon, but they are still covered from the side. An interesting design choice.

Still madly in love with Pershing but with the current day fuel prices, one can hardly afford a full speed trip to Porto Cervo or St. Tropez anymore (even if you are loaded).

What is the thickness of the hull of luxury yachts: steel, aluminum and carbon? 4. Which engines are more durable and generally better in operation: MAN or MTU? 5. How do Italian yachts outperform English and Dutch manufacturers? 6. Why are all the floors on yachts made of teak and not white marble with engraving for example? 7. Are there any large 50 m yachts for sale that are allowed to go to the open sea without a hired crew, so that only the owner is the captain and that's it? 8. What is the average cost of a yacht staying in the port for one day? 9. Is it possible to refuel a yacht directly on the high seas? 10. What is your most beautiful yacht at 50 meters long? Hmm. I'm not into modern and fast boats at all, but I readily admit, that for this kind of boat, she's extremely well laid out and very pretty :) Will be interesting to see a live walkthrough from this one (I bet we will?).

Awesome review ... was wondring if the Pershing GTX can be fitted with hybrid propulsion technology or install solar panels on the roof for maximum range and longer stay at sea... I was wondering the same thing as MAN recently introduced their hybrid drive system. Adds another 500hp to the V12-2000.

Beautiful !!! Love the stern Area !! Drawing shows jet drives not surface drives - BOOOOO ! The fluter stem not so nice. It needs a trio of CAT 32B @ 2,400 HP EACH !!! Maybe 40+ Speed. Thanks David for a great video.

You should see if Pershing are going to offer the MAN powered yachts MAN’s new hybrid drive system. The hybrid drive paired with the MAN V12-2000 is good for another 500hp. Plus you can tell everyone your helping save the planet or something.

Love the GTX116 and looking forward to the new videos. Any more news on the Silent 120?

Have to agree with other comments, looks stunning

I've watched so many yacht videos that I had guesstimated the power output at 6,500+ hp to reach the 40+ knots that Pershing consider so important to the brand. I was not (knot) far off. arf arf. Physics hath no myth, and hull design is nothing but a series of compromises so 6,000 hp to 35 knots is not bad. It'd probably need a gas turbine to hit 40+ but even yacht owners have their limits.

How many cabins/people are accommodated?

We're editing the Numarine video today...it's going to be quite a long one so make sure you have your popcorn and Coca Cola ready!

Aft configuration makes me think of PJ120, and forward windshield design looks a lot like the new SP110 by Sanlorenzo. Don't you think ?

This would be an excellent yacht if it had a travel range of 6000 KM not everyone wants a short range go fast boat. The mix of sporty lines and long range would really be on the button. With a interior by Lambo or Pagani heavy on the leather and woods giving a classic gentleman's sports car feel with enough modern touches to make it a must have yacht. The GTX 116 would be a great starter yacht with the range going to GTX 205 would be just the ticket for fast boat guys and gals and cruising guys and gals that want to cruise the world in sporty style.

Since YT introduced me to yacht channels (not sure why) I am still trying to catch up with their current episodes. Just found this one on the new Pershing Yachts GTX116. I have a question for Pershing stylists: If the Ferrari name (mentioned by David Seal) is associated with this model/series then should surface features be as "authentic" as on the cars--avoiding fake grills, louvers, intakes, etc., that abound on wannabe sporty brands? For example, is that shiny grill at the tip of the bow functional or can it appear less fussy (because the verticals suggest Daimler to me).

So where do you stick the tender

I wish you would have got that exclusivity with bearing yachts I kind of like Alexi Mikolov and his designs

Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Aston-Martin (you forgot Porsche)are all exotic car makers, so I don't classify Pershing in the same category. But some things that I wanted to ask about the yacht is, and please forgive my tangents, how many state rooms will there be, and since it's an SUV yacht, will we have some of the space saving but transferable furniture that we find on like Riviera SUV yachts. Riviera makes an impressive 64.5' SUV yacht with loads of storage options hidden away and pull out tables and chairs, all to save space so that more stuff can be hauled. Like a dive compressor and a healthy dive bottle storage area. Will this yacht have that or is it just getting the standard garage/lazarette area that holds the ever present 'Williams 325 jet tender/and 1 Sea-Doo Spark'. In that case why is it an SUV and not just a regular yacht? The new Sunseeker Predator hold the Williams jet tender and a sea doo, but on the swim platform. So it's holding the same equipment, and is 75 feet, comes in at 2.2M euros or 3.1 with all the options, will do better speed and only carries 2 crew. I imagine this will have 4 crew, maybe 5 and will cost a lot more. Probably sleeps more too. But again...why is this an SUV? This doesn't sound like an SUV, but sounds more like a faster, smaller but more grander version than the 140. I love Pershings, but just like the Porsche GTX115, it wasn't marketed as an SUV but a fast express yacht meant to get you there and into the next port to go explore, not carry all the stuff to have fun on the water really. Correct me please if I'm wrong.

Question for Pershing: Have Tier III IMO regulations affected the performance of Pershing yachts?

MAN hasn’t had to hard of a time as compared to other engine manufacturers but they are getting to the point of adding after treatment systems to the exhaust as they have got all they can out of performance/tuning. As for power MAN are making more than they ever have. To compare MAN’s first generation common rail engines to they current second generation. The V8 and V12 were maxed out at 900hp and 1550hp respectively. The new generation makes 1300hp with the V8 and 2000hp with the V12. Lowest fuel burn and power to weight ratio in the industry.

@@theislandsc Interesting facts. I'm interested in what space existing designs are using to add SCR systems and if the changes to tune mean that boats produced before IMOIII of the same model would be faster.

I don't quite understand the difference between this and the regular line, say the 9X. Does it have longer range, more area for toys, more room for luxury features?

I believe you have some facts mixed up (PERSGING) is not the same as (PORSCHE) Porsche is a German auto maker they do have a yacht Called GTT 115 built by (Dynamicq yachts). This is different from (Pershing yachts) GTX 116 has nothing to do with Porsche the auto maker. This is based on my research

This one was a disappointment to me, but I have never been a Pershing fan anyway. The design is just too busy with lines going all over the place, and why not connect the 2 lower platforms to 1?

I don't like it, it has no class.
