BIG LAP of AUSTRALIA - Top 10 must-see places!

Hey friends, here's our Top 10 must-see places on your once in a lifetime Big Lap of Australia Road Trip. But wait, these aren't the normal tourist hotspots like Uluru, Kakadu, the Great Ocean Road and a list of the best beaches in Australia.
These are those lesser-known places, but places that gave us lasting memories - we call them the "places in-between" the better known tourist hot-spots.
What do you think about this list? Is there anywhere you think we should add?

Great highlight video. I just came back from 5 months in Tassy, got to see it all, loved it. A couple of my favourite parts of NSW are Mungo National Park and Menindee Lake. In WA a great spot to visit apart from all the touristy places is definitely Mt. Augustus, largest rock in the world, almost twice the size of Ayers Rock, a few extras you'll need to do next time.

Hi Nigel and Sue, thank you for reflecting on all these places. I Really love it unfortunately I lost my right leg above the knee in a truck accident in 2018 so I can really travel to these places. Only three your eyes and it’s fantastic. Keep up the good work. Love the video Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺

Congratulations Nigel and Sue on completing your Big Lap - an epic journey. 😊 I have been binge watching your videos of late together with my partner - we have really enjoyed the content, always delivered in a relaxing and insightful manner with an occasional laugh to lighten the unfolding events. We have visited many of the places you have travelled but by no means all and it is wonderful to view places as documented by others - without commercial hard sell. Thank you for your efforts- we look forward to viewing more of your future adventures.

I love your videos! Thank you so much for putting so much effort into them to inform and even entertain us viewers. I've lived with my Aussie husband in Sydney for 2 1/2 years and have only seen a fraction of what you've seen. (We moved to the Blue Mountains last Winter because, like you, I really wanted to be closer to nature.) However, I've seen the "big stuff" down under and am happy that you shared the hidden gems you've found along the way. I'm putting all of them on my bucket list. Cheers!

What a great wrap up of the best not-so-obvious places! I especially loved the long and drawn out Nigel dive (fall/tip??) into the river at the end 😆(must have missed that episode first time around) That was me last weekend in Lake McKenzie on Fraser Island. Got in up to my hips and hubby was threatening to splash me if I didn't hurry up. I could hardly breathe it was so cold, but of course "it's all right once you're in"... Plus there were no showers for 4 days so I didn't really have a choice! Looking forward to hearing what the 'worst' places/experiences were 🤔😉

Out of the 10 places you have listed, if would certainly be hard to just recommend one place to go. You have had an amazing incredible 3 yrs that will last a lifetime in your memories. Australia is truly wonderful, and we thank you both for making the journey enjoyable, full of laughs, highs and lows. You have captured the heart of Australia perfectly. Bring on your next adventures wherever and whenever they may be, you have picked up this fan for life! Your videos should be used as part of educating folks about Australia and what it has to offer!

I think the amazing parts of Australia are good because they are human interactive. Like It's easy to get amazed by massive mountains of other nations, but in most cases you merely get to look. Having interactions like swimming, walking among the forest, and the different environments is unique in the world as the weather suits. Yeah gum tress can be a bit tiring at times.

The best Laksa soup isn’t Mary’s as I tried every Laska soup in Darwin It’s at Coolalinga shopping centre which they also do the Mindel beach Markets Coolalinga are the best for Laska soup in the shopping centre!

Good to know! I'll definitely try that one next time I'm in Darwin. I love Laksa! If you're ever in Melbourne try the Laksa at Chinta Ria - they have a take out near the MidCity centre and a couple of sit down restaurants around the city. That's the first place I ever had laksa over 30 years ago and still my favourite (last visit was in April just gone)

It’s Lerderderg State Park, and the hike is called the Lerderderg Circuit walk. It leaves from MacKenzie Flat which is just outside Bacchus Marsh. Cross the creek several times on the way to Graham’s Dam and then head up the hill (there’s a good signage). At the top of the hill turn right and walk a couple of hundred metres along the fire trail before heading back down and back along the creek. You can see more of this hike in our video called “Back Off the Road”. You’ll also find this hike on the AllTrails app. Hope that helps! It’s a great hike, you can see the city of Melbourne from the top.
