@@XXX-kl5op I'd go with a Cherokee. They're easier and cheaper to build for off-road use, and the 4.0 straight-6 is super reliable. Check out Matt's Off Road recovery channel to see a Cherokee in action. If you decide to go for a 4Runner, check the frame very well as they tend to rot out.

the big downside of those trepadors is that they fill with mud and it won't come out. unless you have a lot of power to spin the wheels they are worthless i personally have creepy crawlers which are way more open. but the trepadors mud are a even better option but worthless on the road. i think your best option for the wheel archers is to make them your self out of some rubber. all the modern ones are made out of hard plastic and explode. the non painted ones from the old 90's and 110's are also good bu i don't think they will fit your 37''s they just fit my 35''s with some trimming but mine also has some extreme flex

So the eyelets on the front of the bonnet near the fenders, those are for fitting bush wires. At the start of the video when you were going through the branches, those wires will guide the branches away from your windows. Should keep you from breaking tour windshield and wipers. Cheers from the bush of Botswana.
😆😆 well done Kev! Andy is a beast off road. Next, try to low down tyres pressure, you will improve the traction on mud and more comfortable drive
1:00 "look we've got a little bit of tree" and "andy's hungry
When yo have traction problems, as in mud and sand, try dropping the tyre pressure a bit (like half) and you will get better traction..! Just make sure you have some co2 cans or a compressor to reinflate for the trip home...! :-)
Nice Landi ,like your chanel and good off-road ,saludos desde Tijuana BC México 👍✌️
Absolutely solid Kevin, hell yeah! Andy needed a good mudding!! looks good just quietly too...beast of car mate.. Good score there!!
A Jeep Cherokee XJ would be great for that Comes standard with soft suspension And coil overs And also a 6 cylinder engine so that means not to heavy

With the wheel arches get a piece of convauerbelt and cut it to length that works and it flexs against trees so they won't get ripped off
the wash was kinda satisfying to watch.
Bang......smash........creak........ha.....ha!👍👌😁
You need to air down your tires when you go offroad. Replace the steel winch cable by a winch rope, that is much more safe! For your fender flares, you could take the “Bushwacker” fender flares. The are flexible. When you are stuck, don’t use your front locker when you are winching. Especially not when you have still the original diff, axles en joint in combination with the 37” tires. The front drivetrain doesn’t really like that😅 But nice work! Offroading is one of the most fun things to do!
Yes mate that's what a landy is for you need to get a snorkel and get in those big puddles. Top work as usual keep them coming
Yay Andy's back!!!
Here in the states a lot of guys will make their own arches out of old tires, flexible and won't trash your tires if they rub a little once in a while.
I SO WANT TO COME AND DO THIS 🤣 Look at all that lovely mud!!

Those maxxis tires turned into slicks when you got stuck, crazy you couldn't even see any tread just a perfect smooth mid wheel lol.
Im glad Kev can have fun in a real land rover defender
Hey Kev, I didn't scroll through all the comments regarding the tower you saw, but it looked to me like a old WW2 radio tower. Not 100% sure, but that's what it reminded me of.
Nice tires on that Jeep you have I always thought you did some mudding. Seems rain there alot bet it can be fun
Wow, you really need to get some soft suspension in your car! Part: 9:21
Brilliant video Kev, I'm massively into off roading back home in Australia so it's good to see you use your car for what it was designed for. Couple of questions though. 1. What did you let your tyre pressure down to (bias ply Trepadors work best at 10psi and below, but you'd need beadlocked rims for that pressure)? 2. I can't quite tell if you hooked the tow rope up to your tow bar? If so please google what happens when recovering others with one as it's not very pleasant to see (not moaning just concerned with people's health and safety). 3. Did you keep your diff locks on when winching? I've always been told to unlock the diffs as depending on how stuck you are it can put a lot of undue stress on the driveline. 4. What are the laws here in the UK regards covering the wheels with wheel arches? I only ask because I use flexible rubber wheel arches at home on my GQ Patrol 🤔. I hope you put more videos like this up Kev awesome job 👍

I literally be doing this with a front wheel drive 😂
Good mud run!
A nice stainless steel snorkel would look sweet on the Land Rover Kev !
Rock crawling big and small! Love it!
Kev, some advice from South Africa... whenever you use your winch while sitting in the vehicle, please open your bonnet - for obvious reasons especially using a steel wire rope...
And that's why I want a defender when I am old enough

Great video. Having a great time with some friends. Thanks for bringing us along.
Use your old set of tires. Just cut em with a sawzall and use self tapping screws. Google it. Little bit of elbow grease you can have one of a kind fender flares on the cheap.
That looked so FUN !!!!!!!!!!!! What a Blast 😉

Andy the Landy is phenomenal. Great video.
This was awesome, need more like this as well as RC shenanigans!
That was fun. Believe it or not I had a Suzuki Samurai that went almost everywhere and I never got stuck off roading on mud etc. I would even jump it like an RC 🤣
Pretty much any subaru wrx giggling in the backround about ride hight. Honestly these things are street cars that can go as offroad as a Land Rover lmao. I mean their way is just like : send iiiiit. Speeeeeeed and powaaaaa
Kevin. A kind of important question regarding the 200+mph car. Where are you going to test it and where are you going to set the record? I'm asking because if you can find a very flat and smooth road to test on then everything should be ok. But a bumpy road or one with a high crown won't be good. I'm hoping you could use the Santa Pod drag strip to set the record, it'll probably be the safest and smoothest place in England.
Love it mate . Can't wait for some more greenlaning videos . And I can't believe that freelander actually survived !!! 👍👍👍
Use garden edging for the flares thats what we use in Australia

You can, and I used to but when bashed it tends to bend and sometimes break. I bought some of that 50mm rubber arch flare from eBay for about $45 AUD for 2 wheel arches. Looks and works quite a bit better.
I used to have a land rover discovery and it went through anything ...great car! It had full diff lock in there stock and had a button for each terrain you were in.
Kev you can still add a horse for free by tuning the boch pump (screw inside the fuel screw on the boch pump) 😁😁 If you need help just write !!🤘

The tdis are the only reliable engine landrover made for the old defenders. Really wish the rover v8’s didn’t suck so much ass. Also love the fact you got a 180 and not a 90!
Those 2 Land Rovers are pretty sick! That has to be so much fun!
Awesome fun boys 👍👍👍👍
Hi Kevin. My dad also has a landrover defender, It once got stuck and someone stole the battery. But we still made it out somehow
👍nice drifting Kevin
I care if I have an idea on how to patch up the air tank for the air is intake just get some 5 inch bolts and a grinder and you can get an angle grinder and you can easily make a patch out of just regular old Steel
Awesome Rover! You need a snorkle!
Momentum is key, as any zuk off roader will attest. Good effort all the same and entertaining
Amazing video great to see Andy out getting muddy also been waiting for proper deep mud bog with the crawlers 👍
Like RC cars but you sit inside them. Could catch on this 👍 You read my mind when you whipped out the RCs to have ago haha

Nice video, Bro! It's good to see something different than always rc cars! Keep the varied videos going. 👍
Epic. Better than any series of the new Top Gear.
Now I want a defender! Which is weird cause I'm a pick-up type guy. However, great video but maybe throw some weight on the tow lines while winching? At least some t-shirts soaked in water? Saw a nasty video years ago of winch failure. Again great to see you took that bad thing out!!
Awesome. Great to see the real big bigs toy get some action 😁👍
Kev, MORE THIS!!!! This was awesome!!!
It’s ok captain! Those scratches with buff right out?!?!🤣🤣🤣
I love watchin' British guys doin' 'Murica things!
Nice video....I used to do the same with a modified suzuki samurai...had to quit the hobby because of too strict regulations here in Belgium and practically no places left to drive where it was tolerated...Now I have a TRX4 and my 4 year old son a TRX4 sport....enjoying it a lot...also enjoying your videos...watch everyone of it! 🤘🏻
A funnel for the air filter might be a wise idea doing that sort of thing Kev!
Rubber garden boarder from your local garden store(UK?) For wheel arch flares.
Careful snatching off your tow ball there Kev, can be quite dangerous! Other than that, Andy looks tuff on 37s!
