Big Flies for Big Fish

Спорт

Host Phil Rowley travels to Labrador as the guest of Crooks Lake Lodge to chase huge brook trout and pike on the fly. These apex predators prefer large food such as mice, voles and each other! Phil shows you the equipment tactics and flies necessary for using large mice and streamer patterns. This episode includes some spectacular surface takes and if you want to learn how to tie the Morrish Mouse pattern, go to: • Less Mess Morrish Mouse

Man, I love Phil's work so much. Never met the man, but I basically learned everything I know from him and Brian Chan.

If you can get to one of the Fly Fishing Shows, Phil is usually there running educational sessions. His knowledge level is astounding and he is a heck of nice person!

You showed one of my first & go to flies, the Purple Wooly Booger w/o bead head. I also tie them in hot orange because nothing drives a bass madder than goldfish. Happy Fishing.

I usually use 6 pound test to 4 pound test leaders I make myself with either a surgeon knot or any other knot that will hold strong and had a low profile will work. But I fish for smallmouth in indiana usually. You want to have a taper in your line even if it isnt a drastic taper. Hope this helps. Tight lines
