A full year of farming at Slätte and Storkila Gård in Västergötland, Sweden. Slätte operates on 1750 hectares of organic farmland, using a wide range of machinery.
This video is a cooperation between us and Slätte Gård, with Slätte filming the material and us doing the editing.

THIS IS SO KOOL TO SEE THE FARMING FROM MY HERITAGE LAND, MY GRANDPARENTS BOTH IMAGRATED HERE TO CANADA FROM THERE. oop soory for caps i was doing work and foregot, i never knew there was such large farms there, nore had no idea they run same equipement as us here in canada. I wanna say sorry at this time i have never reserched my family back ground more. maybe this will encourage me to do so.

I am asking because Scandinavia/ Nordic Countries receives s lot of snowfall. So I guess it is difficult to cultivate at the time of snowfall. I am just asking to enlighten my knowledge.

I would quess around late August to early september, because that is usually when the harvest starts in Finland

Is investment in agriculture sector in Sweden profitable? How much the R O I? Return on assets or return on investment? Is it 20%? How much the price per hectare in South areas, around Malmo? What is the profitable crop? Wheat, oats, sugar beet... Etc?

The hectar prices was between ~230 000 kr - 550 000 kr in south of sweden(so like 36k dollars per hectar in average). The ROI is not that great, except for bigger farms(or machine-stations that rent out their services to a lot of customers). A "normal" farmer with around 100 hectars usually have more eggs in their baskets to get profit(like plowing roads during winter, selling products directly on the farm, renting out machines, a second job etc). Many smaller farms rely, sadly, on grants from EU(instead of raising the value of their products on the market). For example, of ~9000 farms in Skåne county, only ~3300 is fulltime farms(the rest rely on different jobs also). The biggest cash-crops in the south is barley, weat, canola and sugar-beats. Followed by potatoe and green-peas and then regular veggies. Of course, there are some animal-farmers to, bu they are rarer in Skåne compared to the rest, thanks to the excellent soil for growing Grains etc. North of Skåne have more dairy and meat farmers. cheers
