All of the short combo cancels got patched a while ago unfortunately.

My boy! LLLHH utility is to charge the grynoth gauge more, but like we saw it's faster to use a skill then charged attack for the same results Great guide once again, can't wait for the next one

Today i maxed out Vasy and i made an insane max DMG + Tanky build for him and this quist is the best showcase for him because it's the hardest fight yet and it's super fun i just stand like a monster in front of all the attacks you can easly carry any team 🔥

Love this guide but I think my Vasa is broken as i am able to gain my SBA gage filled immediately by taking hits during his undying active skill. during some boss fights i can Do my SBA move 4 or 5 times assuming the fight last that long.

4 seconds into the video I said "Thank you!" and liked.

what do i get for his over masteries? or is it the usual normal cap up > skill dmg cap > skill dmg > crit rate?

Normal cap yes for his charge attacks. skill damage no because none of his skills are good for damage, all his best damage is just his charge attacks. Crit depends. You can cap crit for his charge attacks with one lucky charge sigil, which saves you the hassle of needing crit over mastery + crit wrightstone + crit sigil. But if you use lucky charge youre losing out on crit for sba. So ideally your probably want to use the normal crit setup but lucky charge is a good holdover until you can get the standard crit setup.

The problem with the “infinite immortal pain” is its not practical. In a real boss fight against a real boss, its never going to be still long enough for you to get all those charge attacks off. Its either going to move, get knocked over and out of range from getting link attacked or entering break mode, push you away with the pushback from overdrive, go into an untargetable phase (ex: managarmer), wind pushback (furycabe, wind dragon) or tremors (quakadile, golem) that interrupt you even when you have stout heart, or something else. And because the timing is so strict (even with an ideal scenario, immortal pain comes off cd RIGHT before undying falls off) there is no wiggle room. If you lose any uptime, you lose undying. And because of that, it really isnt worth giving up a bunch of stuff for cd sigils. Youre better off building without them and just using immortal pain situationally. Honestly his personal sigils dont feel worth using either. Several bosses have downtime phases so long that the gauge falls off even with the sigil, and his cds arent important enough to warrant using the cd sigil over using more damage to hit cap or getting more utility.

2 weeks later and it turned out this comment is the optimal way to play Vaseraga. Immortal pain as the only skill with "Less is more" and no character sigils because both suck.

Imo just like Ghandagoza, Vaseraga is suffering from this stupid damage cap mechanics. His super charge move should be doing a lot more damage considering the risks you take. I still very much enjoy playing him and I do think he's still pretty solid but he needs some fixing!

Do you think they will remove skill canceling in the next patch? Surely it isn’t intended tech

I believe it should be removed when it retains a special property of the attack without using the cooldown.

I want to main him, but those combo rotation seem kinda hard to do lol

It would be better if Vaseraga gained a significant increase in the charging speed of his charged attacks during Immortal Pain.

Does quick charge work on him?

Glad to see the big man gettin some attention. Hopefully some of his wonky nonsense gets patched later but at least the Relink version of him is doing way better than his Versus version lol. I'll still main him regardless!

After helping with the guide and having to leave im glad to see how the guide turned out. Some more tips for anyone wanting to get into the nitty gritty of vaseraga that want to squeeze the most out of him as possible you want to run the sigil "Less is More" with no skills equipped the tldr reasoning behind this and as to why we have so many atk and orange skills is because how how insanely hard it is to cap his first heavy without outside interference is. with the discussed 2 lights being dodge cancelled for his bread and butter, you can do the same for his gap closer. Its simply, gapcloser- (buffer light attack)- dodge roll- 2H.

I really love how it takes like 5 years to charge his triangle hit but then it absolutely obliterates everything in front of him. Wait for it…waaaait for iiiiiit…waaaaaaaaaait for iiiiiiiiiiit… **SCYTHE NUKE**

Nice Guide, but why no Quick Charge if you only use Charge Attacks?

Quick charge is pretty good, but difficult to slot in without really good sigils. Vaseraga's slots are super contested though so its up to if you think its important or not. Quick charge is also in the most contested slot (orange) for a sigil. We actually tested it and it is a bit faster by 0.36 seconds with max quick charge.

@@LeaflitAsari I haven't played him myself so i dont know how easy it is to hit his DMG Cap but i thought with his DMG Buff it might be easy with just 1 or 2 DMG Slots. Without godlike Supp V+ it's a tradeoff if you wanna hit maybe more often (Boss moving) or harder but fewer

Best bet is getting it on your wrightstone. I can't remember if she tested it, but perhaps you could still cap with a crit rate + q. charge as it does give a small atk boost. Other than that you have your character sigil that needs to roll any of the red traits shown on the build to free up a slot (or q. charge).

@@i_am_AcTive actually, if you can get a decently leveled lucky charge on your wrightstone (6-7ish) you can cap his charged attack crit rate and free up a sigil slot that would normally be dedicated to crit rate. Since vas pretty much exclusively uses charged attacks, I think that's the way to go
