A Big Cypress documentary unlike any you've seen before.
Big Cypress was a new year's event at the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation in Florida, 12/30/99 to 1/1/00. The three-day event had two days of shows, 3 on 12/30/99 and 2 on 12/31/99 with the second set lasting from midnight until dawn.

Cypress was my FIRST show, I was 18 years old, I did not even really know the band or their music. Got dragged down by a friend who promised me it would be a good way to celebrate the new year. Needless to say, this experience turned me into a lifetime fan. I hopped on tour in KC 2000 and rode it til the end. Continued to follow them when they returned; I've at least listened to every show they've played since then. Phish-Hooked for LIFE. Even got a tattoo of the Phish logo so I would never forget that amazing experience.
Another incredible documentary! Excellent work!!

Anyone who was there knows how amazing it truly was. Id bet that for the 70k plus down there, it's definitely w/in best 3 experiences of every last person. Nothing before can compare and nothing in future will come close to replicating.
You can do an entire series just on BC … it was the craziest show and event that I’ve ever been to. The stories are endless ! There has got to be a site where people can share their experiences 😊 Unbelievable! My pictures from that show are so random and special… we were atop our huge RV , guitars , keyboards and amps .. at one point I looked at the amps and all knobs were turned to 11… all of them and we were playing ….amazing 🎉
like Josh, we got down there way early. the 28th at night. parked with a couple hundred folks in the last rest area before snake rd. and everyone had tons of fireworks and we all blew our firework loads that night together in the rest area. and then it was just a couple hours of traffic in the morning and we had basically the best spot in the place right by the concert gates.
The whole year was a great for music. The summer tour was off the hook. Not a dud at any stop. July 4th in Atlanta is still probably my favorite show to date. Was at Alpine and Polaris and Deer Creek. I remember the announcement of NYE in Ohio was super exciting as i was living in Tampa area. Its like 4 hour drive down there. Felt like we were making great time until we got on Alligator Alley. Then it like 12 hours till we got in. It was pretty fun for a traffic jam. Big Cypress was insane and every NYE i was I could go back and experience it all over again. Got home at some point late on the 1st. Next day saw the Dude of Life acoustic set in Dunedin FL at place locally called The Pharm. Bunch of Florida bands and The Dude.
After the show I passed out for 8 hours. Woke up and drank a 12 pack of beer. Slept another 8 and when I woke up the place was empty. Went to fort myers beach and recooped.
Killer episode as always! Was born a couple months before big cypress but would trade my entire childhood to have been there.
@MikeFionna Only time my dad ever got food poisoning was from Miami Subs lol
One of the greatest nights of my life
Well that was a pleasant end to the weekend surprise.
Big Cypress kicked ass! I absolutely LOVE the band The Phish! Edit: I got there a day early and didn't sit in more than 3 hours traffic! #cheesecake #aftermidnight #sunriseset
I live in manatee county. 4.5 hrs north. We left late Wednesday night n got in line early Thursday morning, n it still took us 12hrs to get in.
Awesome series

Thanks!
I rode down with Scott Marks and we rear ended a car in the Bronx. Rest of the weekend was uneventful lol. I can't believe nobody mentioned that SOAM>Catapult
"Say it like your PISSSSED", Trey says to Kev.
I had an amazing time, grateful to have experienced all of the imperfect perfectness, bringing in a new era....love hearing the tales and again, great job putting these into fruition ✌️❤️

Thank you for that! What a life changing experience it was. Just amazing. We were fortunate enough to make a pilgrimage there last month, coming back from the keys just to get a picture at the sign. Really, thanks Wook for this series!

Any deer creek stories? The 3 night runs are legendary. Hope you make it this year 🙌🏻
We drove two loaded down trucks from Texas to Southern Florida. It was a 25 hour drive, and we slowly inched our way down Alligator Alley for 8 hours.

@@clintbullock4772 it reads as laughably passive aggressive and par for the hypocritical course.. I’m sure he was hoping for nothing but the best for people who refused the jab but considers himself an independent and critical thinker..😂😂..
