My neck hurts just watching this. I've raced in a couple of enduros that were a demolition derby disguised as a race, but these guys take it to a whole nother level. Great video.

It's funny to think that the GoPro might be the most expensive component of some of these cars. I love every single one of these maniacs that decide to take old junkers out to ram into each other.

I'm going to make a trip across the pond to watch a few Banger races live.

Most of these clips are from the Netherlands, the only other country crazy enough to host these kind of events! UK races run the other way around for obvious reasons...

Serious injuries are very rare. Worst I've seen myself is a few broken bones. Thats in 11 years.

Big disclaimer you have to sign you have to have a special cage in the car. Don’t skip on the supports, and Gusset’s.

@chapel976 they do loads to their cars to protect themselves such as h-frame, doorplate, floorplate, roofplate, welding etc etc.

@Oz_Darkr1d3r no, serious injuries are a rare thing. People have died racing bangers but last one was in 2011 i believe because het got out of his car during the race and accidentally got hit.

Meeste wat hierin voorkomt is op Speedway Emmen en Speedway Warneton. Die laatste is helaas al een paar jaar gesloten nu.

I still wonder how many banger racing drivers die each year. Some of the wrecks are insane. Im a big demolition derdy fan here in the states. But they dont hit near as hard or let the dead cars left to be hit will a driver still in the car. And they use big American cars not thin English metal cars. They even beef up cars in certain classes. I do know these bangers do build a roll cage around the drivers but the cage is not build to a nascar type standard.

Serious injuries are very rare these days. Nobody has died for more than 20 years because he was stuck in his car. You dont want a nascar cage in these cars as bangers are designed to take most of the impact. If you weld up a car too much the driver would take most of the impact.

@AutorodeoNederland I have never seen one up close so I have no clue to what it looks like inside. I understand the Nascar cage is different and not the strongest to these. It's just a simple example used. I would be writing a book if I went into my full thought. The welded cage it still collapsible to a point. The welded classes in demo derby helps to save a car for more then 1 event. There's more but I'm glad that it's safer then some of those collisions look. Because I'm a car guy and would do a demo derby without hesitation but banger race I'm not to sure about. Lol

@2dogslarry393 worst thing ive seen in over 10 years myself is a few broken bones. They normally walk away from wrecks you cant imagine someone can get out of it alive. Bangerracing exists for more than 75 years so a lot of improvements have been made over the years.

There is a h frame behind the driver that gies from b pillar to b pillar. Also doorplates, floorplates etc.
