As an instructor in Mayrhofen this was daily entertainment riding the chair lift next to the Harikiri. If you can't execute a short radius turn with solid edge set and pressure on the downhill ski you're done for on Harikiri. Lol

I don’t understand Why there is no restaurant with a view there. Eating, drinking and entertainment!

@@FrequenzBlog Are you supposed to lose at least one ski going down the harakiri? Never knew. I always try to keep both on, as I fall over more easily on one ski let alone on zero ski's.

@@davesmulders3931 Well my friend tore her ACL and LCL after she fell with 2 skiis in Austria, i love the healthcare there. In 30 minuetes she was from 2700 meters to the nearest Hospital 20 minuetes away.

Stay on the piste, arrive at the base, gear on, one piece: I render it a controlled descent. Well done!

I saw a guy lose both his skis and then manage to stand up and run down whilst still falling, he then ended up doing to front flips because it was so much speed. he was fine

I've been skiing there 8 years, never have gone down Harakiri, I've done devils run though.

I feel with u brother, fell down 4 years ago, too. But watching this is quite entertaining to be honest :)

Keep that weight on your downhill ski fella, I know it's terrifying leaning down a slope that steep but it's the only way, I did this twice on Wednesday and the first time I fell cause I leaned back up the mountain just a bit and my downhill ski just slid down the ice.

A slip like that could happen to anyone in conditions that meh.

Please follow up the advice from the Mayrhofner-bergbahnen, and try piste 12 before you go down the Harakiri.

true. If you struggle with number 12 you should defenitly avoid the Harakiri

If you are having fun you are doing it right, man.

sharpen the Edges man ! , and trow yourself to the head pressing the front part of the ski and don't cheat on the upper ski :)

We have hills like that here in Denmark.... Not that difficult ;- ))

I worked as a ski guide there. As the instructor said: ‚daily entertainment’. That was the reason why I did not go on the Harakiri. I have the skills, but I don’t want to get injured by ‚Rolling Stones‘ and flying skis as you could see there all the time. My health is more important than taking a steep pist.

Get back on the bunny slope.

This is a very good slopes. But the most insane one in Austria and might be in the world is the streif in kitzbuhl -85%..

Streif is a red slope. Has some short steep passages, but is labelled red as it's wide and flat enough for the most part. The Harakiri is steep.... for almost the full run.

Both skis still on that’s a Win!

thats one way of making it to the bottom... 2015 i made it without falling

78% is like 37 degrees. If you like that then you should try Swedens (where I live) steepest run, Chocken in Idre Fjäll. Its 103% or 46 degrees :)

100% means 90° (vertical) --> 78% is about 70°

I don't understand what the 78% means? 90% from the ground would be vertical....... there is no way a public piste would be that close to vertical........ so what does the 78% mean?

It's the ratio between vertical / horizontal distance. E.g. 1m drop / 1m horizontal = 100%

Hi to people who will see this! I was on this slope with my dad! Im skiiing for 10 years and my dad like for 30 years. It was a really fun slope. You might think: oh you just went on the side and made it like a total loser.. No, we with fast speed and with no timeouts. Im not trying to show off or something like that, I just wanted to say it!

Ok kiddo when you are 38 come to Cyprus and jump on a kneeboard in the sea running and do 360s on 40 knots speed ...then i will tell you know how far you can go...did this on my 8th year keep doing it still 30 years later...you grow up on snow and likely you do your winter sports easily than others..we grow up on the beach here..others grow up neither having both so give them a break..it takes BALLS to go down knowing that probably you will fall...and fall hard...well done mate just get up and do it again

Pavel Dubovsky I did that at Regulator Johnson on Vail. I think I slid down the entire hill. It was kind a fun except the snow inside my underwear.

Maybe you too because you can't know how his skill is, he skied just a few seconds. He is maybe very good in ski but it is easy to fall on pists like this.
