Big Country- Porrohman (Drum Cover)
Музыка
The closing track to Big Country's 1983 album "The Crossing", Porrohman is an epic finish to a pristine debut LP. Mark Brzezicki's performance on this number is one of my all-time favorites. An awesome, incredibly enjoyable song to try to play along to. I was a wee-bit tired when recording this, but hope it serves as some tribute to the Octopus himself. Also, as always, Tony Butler's bass tone is just perfect for the track. Rhythm for Hire really shines all throughout this record.

As a drummer myself, MB has always been a big favorite of mine. It's so nice to see the youth of today still recognising MB's brilliance. Props to you for your time and dedication to authentically recreate these songs. I recently see MB in a small local show. He isn't the dynamic force he once was but, still remains a great rhythmic anchor man and will be always highly regarded in the drumming community. Keep up the good work and love your recreation of MB's drum kit.
I remember listening to this album when it was released, I was mesmerized by the first nine tracks. This one however, made me realize that this band was on a whole other level. Well done, Sir.
That's one of the greatest drum covers ever. It really highlights what a unique drummer Mark B is too. Fantastic playing.
Bloody Hell man that is just brilliant. What a fantastic tribute to the best drummer I've ever seen live.
OMG! That's it. You hit it so hard. One of your favorites too. Excellent job! I mean EXCELLENT!!!
How could anyone give this a thumbs down?
My favorite song from my favorite band back in the 80's. ..the Scottish sound has yet to be replicated. You nailed it!
Watching you makes me appreciate what a genius Brzezicki was to compose these beats.
My Favorite BIG COUNTRY song! Your stellar playing of this song honored it brilliantly! 👍🏾 04:55 - 07:50 - “Pure Mastery of the Material!”

I love that Mark wasn't afraid to throw in a lot of accents and details. I'm sure there are producers out there who would've told him to tone it down. I've always thought that if his style was visualized, it would be very ornate without being overdone, like an old victorian home.
I've been watching this for about a month now and had to finally comment. This is one of my favorite tracks from BC and to finally see how busy the drum work is awesome. It's nice to see the respect given to Mark by doing such a fantastic job covering this. Your drumming is first rate. Great job lad.

Dude that was truely awesome!!! I will never listen to the drums in that track the same way ever again, thank you for enlightening me.
Excellent work. An eye opener to understand More brilliantly the work of Mark B
Very very very well done indeed, hats off to you mr!
One of the finest drum covers I've ever seen.

Absolutely wonderful stuff! Mark B’s drumming is one of the greatest things in music and you’ve done him justice and some with this brilliant take. Awesome drumming, man !

Blows me away every time🖤
Superbly done fella. MB is an incredible drummer and you've done him proud here. Bravo.
The hi-hats in the second part are awesome.
Ambidextrous skill. Great. Toms around a steady beat....always impresses me the way Brezezicki did/does that. A cover of Remembrance Day might allow me to see how the beat in the 2nd half of that was played. Well done again.
Absolutely fabulous, what a performance! Keep up the good, nah... great work!
Excellent....no other words needed! :)
Nothing less than brilliant.

Dude - your drum kit sounds "alive." not flat. not dull. Those skins have such a great sound. Your band? Such a sweet sound!
Incredible cover, so well done, like others have said, younger gen appreciating 80's is awesome !
Great work, matey. It's really heart-warming for us old guys to see you younger guys keeping alive the spirit of this vastly underrated band. You and Andrew Buchan are my fave drummers at the moment!

Fantastic drum cover, you nailed, epic song and you were wearing a legendary PF t-shirt too ;)
Yep brilliant that👏👏👏
Really awesome work. Fantastic.
Musically the song is just magnetic. Genius playing by Mark to make the drums such an integral part of the song, not just its foundation and frame. And of course the roll at 4:08 puts me on the floor. Where's that drum chart?
well it looks like Mark didn't age! ;-) when Mark retires... an everlasting experience of Big Country! well done!
Must be Science Fiction! How is it possible to Cover that complex drum pattern and Hit Every Spot just by hearing? You are a Mashine, just Seen on westworld!

MrPorrohman Haha, thank you very much! If I managed to do this song justice, it had a lot to do with luck. Mark Brzezicki is in a league all his own.
Just Brilliant, you nailed it!.
A wee bit tired were you now? WTF?? You took no prisoners and you made it looked like a walk in the park. Maybe that's where the tired part comes in? Hats off. Outstanding.

poekoelan75 Thank you! I was just off work when I recorded this. I fear I looked a tad bored, which I wasn't. Kinda just zoning out trying to remember all the parts and keep up with Mark, haha.
Now that's what I call drumming 😮
Fantastic
Perfect.
Well done! 👌

I mean 5,35 onwards. ...wtf.....? ??!!!
Are you miking the octobans from the inside?
I'm not a drummer, but I've always wondered, how do drummers covering other drummers' songs remember all the parts ? If it's your own song, you remember it because it's part of you. But other drummers' stuff ? How ? (apologies for using the word 'drummer(s)' so many times in one comment😀)
Very tippy tappy,,
