I've realized that my corporate clients love seeing Easyrigs/Readyrigs during their shoots. It gives them that Hollywood vibe they secretly crave for. Great work filming with the talents with those giant windows behind them. That seemed like a super bright day! Thank you for sharing!

You’re not wrong haha Matte boxes and easyrigs are mostly for optics and occasionally used for their intended purposes

Your improvement with the dialogue was wonderful. I was watching you set up and all I could think was "Wide open area and so many hard surfaces." Nice job one cleaning that up.

I’ll keep pushing to make more videos. My motivation for it is more so for the future me to look back and see progress. But I’m sure some may find these helpful.

Thank you 🙏🏻 It surprisingly takes more effort than I was expecting. Remembering to film everything and then piecing these little videos together. But it’s fun and people seem to like it so I’ll keep going.

Stumbled across your video mate, nice work. Doing more corporate work myself at present so always looking for tips. My instincts would have led me to shoot in the other direction at a diagonal so just wondering if there was a technical reason or aesthetic reason why you didn’t shoot with the large windows as the backdrop and just scene dress behind the talent to give the shot more depth?

The main reason was I wanted to show more context of where we were. The background I chose had their colors, the word “Rescue” on the wall, and some kittens in the glass to the right. The windows were a prettier shot but less context on the location. I also would’ve needed more time to setup lights on the subject to compete with all that window light if it were the backdrop.

Any particular reason you didn’t shoot shadow side/light accordingly? Her face looks really flat, but composition is great!

Love this vlog! Also love seeing another blackmagic shooter! Noticed it was prores and i was curious, is that so their internal team or editors have an easier time? I know braw can be tough for some clients

It was purely their request. I do ProRes only when a client wants it or if I’m doing event coverage. For everything else I go with braw (commercials, interviews, ads, personal projects)

My Cos11 lavs reject really well and pickup great vocals. That or a longer boom with more directional pickup would’ve been better.

Nice work! In davinci resolve the isolation feature for audio works wonders.

That was part of what I used. Voice isolation plus a voice EQ plugin.

They knew I was there to film the event. They didn’t know the real purpose of filming was due to them winning the grant.
