BIG BUCK Rattled in to 10 YARDS!
Спорт
After tagging a pair of deer in Wyoming, Justin Zarr returns to bowhunt his home state of Illinois. With the rut starting to wind down, Justin heads to a farm he hasn't hunted since mid-October, looking for one of several mature bucks he believes to be in the area. After spotting a big deer several hundred yards away, Justin rattles the buck into bow range and makes a perfect shot at just 10 yards!

Awesome Justin! So happy and excited for you ! Thank you for letting us see your great hunt!!
Man what a lovely episode!! This is why I watch this show!! Thank you very much all the way from South Africa :)
That mustache has a life of its own.
I could here the crowd applauding as you raised your arms! Congrats on the kill!!! You should send me that bow when your done with it, sweet rig!
Justin your reaction after the shot was amazing- hands up!!! I would have taken that shot too, 10 yards, all day. Well done dude!
And yes I did that shot this year but even more away,it went in in front of the hip a and punched it up to the heart 💔, and no blood because of gutts but I knew it was good so gave it 2 hrs and walked 75 yards and recovered him 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I would’ve for sure taken a shot like that especially if it’s 10yds. It’s not believing the equipment it’s about believing the power of the mustache!
J Z ! Much props Sir !
Nicely done, Justin. Congrats on a great buck !!
Congratulations on a beautiful old deer. His face looked like he had a lot of life experience. That was an iffy shot, given the sharp quartering angle; the concern you yourself expressed about it, tells you all you need to know. If you keep hunting that spot, one of those old bucks will turn out to be a giant. Good luck in the future.
2:00 Justin looks like ginger Luigi in disguise.😂😂 Nice buck!
Great shot!! Took the same shot this year on a mature 8 point and he only went 40 yds. Congrats!!
Awesome good shot Bud congratulations nice big buck
Congrats Justin! Awesome buck!
Just got to watch perfect shot Justin! Great deer congrats!!
Really nice shot.
Justin, hell of a shot. well done.
Great job Justin! See ya in Indy!
Another great hunt by Justin congratulations👍
Justin, CONGRATULATIONS,!!!!!! And I would have taken that shot...... I love that Mathews 31.5 and I can't wait for mine to get here. I won't say anything about the moustache, mine is trimmed like Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow........
Nice one JZ 👍😎
Nice buck. Good shot.
Lol. Love the closing clip. It’s tough to hoist a big deer into the back of a truck when you can’t stand up
I’d take that shot all day everyday!!! Congratulations!
Congratulations Justin. I would say something about the mustache, but from what I understand, he's hyper-sensitive on topics of masculinity. Great video.

Hahaha I love the stash, and the banter 😀 and the hunt 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍
That shot is one of the best.... arrow angles right to the vitals every time... besides...good shot executed.....buck dead....that's really what matters. Great job Justin. Congrats.
I AM taking that shot JZ, no doubt, especially if you’re shooting a heavy grain arrow that could stay straight w/ a little buck thorn here and there. If hunts were scripted and out in the wide open every time they’d lose their luster. It’s the unknown and element of surprise that keep you on the edge of your seat. Nice work... #BHOD
That stache tho 😎
Excellent shot Zach. There are some folks who actually prefer that shot choice over other angles because they can land the broadhead between the front legs where the heart is getting liver, diaphragm and sometimes lung along the way. Well done. And yes, as you eluded to, if you don't enter near the last rib you risk simply threading an arrow between the ribcage and one front leg netting a basically uninjured deer. Chill out Todd.

We don't hate you Justin! We just hate the stache you had!
as an 18 year old and only have killed one buck with my bow, i would not even think of taking that shot but only because i am not experienced enough. i dont blame you for taking the shot because you have plenty of experience
I would have taken that shot at 25 yards or less. Great placement and good on you taking a step back and giving him time to expire.
Big body buck.. congrats
I use a wrist sling it is a pain to get your hand in at times but def helps with your shot 100%
Yes I would of shot that. I shot my buck this year hard quartered away I went in right in front of hind leg exit right behind off side shoulder. 30 yard shot. I also rattled him in. I use a wrist sling wouldn't do without.
Everyone is trying to remember which porn flick they saw that stache in, that's why they are staring. I would have passed due to my own limitations, but quartering away is better than quartering to. I also use the gutless method on quartering away shots. Congrats JZ. Nice job. The only disadvantage to not using the sling is that reflexive grab when the shot is released.
Another great video! Love the end.....do you need some help!!! 😂
"See you guys....at the top!" "Proceeds to record himself climbing up"
Love the "DEER KILLIN HAT" 🤣🤣
Is that a push broom on his top lip?
I’ve never seen a year and a half old deer score 100 inches
First! Just started to watch and already know this will be awesome!
"Deer Killing Hat" love the Hat!
Yes at 10 yards if you shoot a lot better cordered away then cordered two nice job good buck
that same shot with a crossbow...should I take it? will that go right thru?
See I said a while back when y’all were out west Justin was going to kill a monster. I got your back brother! Giant!
Great job JZ!! CONGRATULATIONS ON A BEAST OF A BUCK! Todd's stash does QUALIFY for nothin but a cookie duster! It's not even thick enough to QUALIFY as a Flavor Savor! Lmao!
1: nice buck, yes on the shot because I’ve been in thick stuff like that and sometimes that’s the only shooting lane you can make 2: get an old rope or strap and tie half the buck in the truck bed so you only deal with the weight on the other half... looked like you had to clean another mess 3: love the shows and enjoy the content y’all do a wonderful job and My 10 year old and I enjoy watching

2 - that's what I ended up doing. Tied his head up to the inside of the bed and then swung the back legs in. Would have been a lot easier if I could stand all the way up but the cap was preventing that. Normally the little ones I shoot are a lot easier to load! :)
That shots money. Your going up through everything vs broadside where you have to be money, 2" can be a fatal vs nonfatal shot.
Where did you get that hat that says “ Deer Killin Hat”?
Nothing wrong with that shot, congrats
No shot! Got lucky.
I have a question about your shot. Just before you release the arrow, it appears that you drop the bow down a bit. Am I seeing something that is not there? Or is that a flinch? Great shoot either way and I would take that shoot at that range any time.
@bowhuntordie
4 жыл бұрын
Definitely a flinch on my part. I have a bad habit of doing that and I'm still working on trying to break out of it. Its a bit of target panic really. Doesn't happen all the time, but it was noticeable here for sure.
9 times out of 10 I'm taking that shot. The 1 time I wouldn't would be because I was eating something and didnt get ready in time
Taking that shot all day everyday!
Oh and i forgot most definitely im taking that shot without a second thought...good call JZ
Congrats Justin! I would've taken that shot also! When the shot presents itself, you must shoot! Thats my modo....
Justins upper lip moves more than the normal human beings upper lip. The jungle on his upper lip accentuates it. There ya have it.

Would it be safe to say I do not have a "stiff upper lip"?
I'd take that shot every time 💲
I’m not taking that shot! I feel like the odds of a bad shot far out way the odds of a good one! But great job Justin! Awesome deer!
Tough shot, Justin. Heck of job executing it. I’d probably take that shot too.
what's it like to go hunting lol? i wouldn't know. everytime i get a chance off from work my wife has to work and i gotta stay home with the little one cause everyone else works on my days off lol
also i seen you struggle getting that deer in your truck.. its best to have a tonneau cover to flip out of the way hahah get rid of the cap :D
@bowhuntordie
4 жыл бұрын
Haha, Justin has had a tonneau cover on his truck for a while, he literally got the topper about a month or two ago.
I'd take that shot!
If your confident, take it, if not don't...simple
I would have taken that shot even at 30 or 40 yards. If you cant make that shot at 10 yards, you just need to give up bowhunting. Nothing is ever going to be perfect in a scenario, but at least you're not like drury outdoors who think you can't kill a deer quartering too or straight on with a rifle. But thats another rant for another time. Congrats Justin!
Love your hat... Terrible decision on the shot. Got lucky
Buckstache" 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Do you actually take the meat from these deer?

I luv ya Justin but Im not taking that shot...He looked to be quartering pretty hard...But thats just me...Congrats!
Who on the BHOD crew would be willing to look at a pic of the land I leased and design a few foot plots size and areas? I don't want to waste time or $ yall have food plot expirence if anyone is willing please let me know and I'll be in contact or I can leave my contact info. I greatly appreciate it. Happy Holidays everyone BHOD
NOT a hater lol but Freddie Mercury wants his stache back LOL
I wouldn’t have taken the shot, but we’re all different.

Agreed. Not the ideal shot, but at ten yards I would have perfect confidence
That was an awesome shot. Take the shot if your confident in your abilities. I'd hit it!
I think it was a questionable shot. I would not have taken it. JZ is a better shot than I, and in this case, it was a good shot for him to take.
Justin knows how to kill a big buck? Haha great job
Naming deer is kinda ridiculous! Trail camera are great but i believe they ruined hunting in alot of ways, too many to type out here.
Mike u never touch another mans deer before he does! Rookie mistake
Nothing wrong with that shot Justin
That's a massive body on that buck. His head gear hasn't quite caught up to it but I'd have shot him without hesitation. Great job!
Justin "Spineshooter" Zarr almost lives up to his name again. A half inch to the left and he would have dropped paralyzed right there or a half in to the right and he would have lived to see another day. Todd would have never taken that shot - NEVER - and that giant deer he passed a few episodes is proof.

@@joshuakerr3291 dude I say good things in the vast majority of videos. I'm happy he shot a nice buck, I said that, even Todd implied his shot was shady.
Heck ya I would've shot.
Great video guys. Justin, for the love of God PLEASE shave that Mink off. Its not you dude. 🐈
I would’ve taken it all the way yes your buddy needs peanut butter hes so jelly of You srry peanut butter boy.
Nice kill. I woulda took the shot.
Congratulations Justin. I dont HATE you. But I would not have taken that shot. I am a very avid bow hunter and if it's not a almost broadside shot I wont take it. Just feel that I need a full pass through to almost insure a quick death.
@JustinZarr

Timothy Miller Totally understandable! We each have our own decisions to make and the only people we really answer to are ourselves. I’ve shot a handful of deer in my day that haven’t had an exit hole. So long as the arrow is in the right spot they die just as quickly as any other shot. When the lungs are gone it’s always a quick death.
@timothymiller1063

I've shot a few deer without an exit. They have died fairly quick. Not saying they will always have a pass through with a broadside shot. Good luck and come to Virginia to hunt some plubic land...
It's illegal to use real antlers for rattling in Illinois.

Are you sure about that Ranger Dan?
Absolutely I woulda smoked that deer also
Please enough with hitting off side shoulder excuse for lack of penetration! It is the broadheads 90% of the time. Really you guys should address this issue with your viewers instead of hiding the facts. Hey you made a great shot and killed a real nice buck, and you made todd jealous so win win!!
@bowhuntordie
4 жыл бұрын
Not an excuse - it's just what happened. The arrow stopped at the off side arm pit/front of the chest cavity. On most quartering-away shots it's difficult to get a complete pass thru unless you're exiting completely in front of the shoulder. Not just the bone, but the full shoulder itself. That's especially true on a 250+ lb animal. I've shot dozens of animals with the same Spitfire broadheads over the years and get a pass through on more than 90% of them.
