Big Blue Motorcycle Lift

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is my 1st product review featuring the Big Blue Motorcycle Lift. In this video I review the basic assembly of the lift and give my first impressions of the motorcycle lift. This product has had a lot of scams. I thought I would share my personal experience of the Big Blue Motorcycle Lift.

    I bought a Big Blue lift a couple of years ago for my 2018 Tour 6MT. Goes together and works just like this video shows. I also use a older and cheaper Dewalt cordless drill to operate it that stays with the lift ready to go when I need it. I bought mine from the North American Distro in Canada and it shipped to me in the USA from Canada. Called Donald at the number on the Canadian website and did the deal. Was a good guy to work with and liked to laugh. Got it shipped out the next day. I think it's better than other lifts out there and it does raise the bike as high as demonstrated. There is some sway when the bikes up high but manageable. If you have never worked with jack, lifts and lift tables with motorcycles it can be a eyes big moment for most. I recently had mine on the lift for just about two weeks while I did some maint. Oil/filter change, crappy Wing air filter change, adjusted the reverse cables, flushed/bled the brakes and clutch, reran the wires for my Twinart marker/signal lights, installed a set of Clearwater Erica driving lights under mirror mount, did a coolant change, cleaned and lubed the clutch, brake, shift and rear brake levers and cleaned her up under her plastic origami. Bike went up and down as I needed and stayed on the lift as it should. I've used it to pull wheels. I do all my on tire work. And use it sometimes for cleaning the bike. It's not a replacement for a lift table, but a useable tool.

    One more question for you, do you use any straps while its up? I don't see any straps loops or anything like that. It must be shaky when you want to remove like a rear tire.

    Yes, I will use straps when I plan to do any real work other than cleaning. The lift is much stronger than it looks. However, I would use straps.

    I agree that this is a very well made lift, everything is 1st class. If the cotter pin that holds the main lift mechanism in place is any indication this lift can be passed on to several generations after I'm gone. I needed 2 pairs of vice grips to bend the pin, I've never seen a heavier duty cotter pin.

  • @GoldRyderOne

    @GoldRyderOne

    Ай бұрын

    Yes, the bottom cotter pin was very hard to bend. I know this lift will out-live me and my Gold Wing. Plus, it has a lifetime warranty. Not sure which lifetime they are referring to... Me, my kids, grandkids or their kids.

    @@GoldRyderOne I was looking at getting a lift but I’m really running out of space in my garage. I purchased my DCT Tour new in July 2023 and I believe I’ve completed adding the optional equipment I want. Now it’s just required maintenance items, so the Big Blue Jack should handle this. My concern is can you lift the bike with the Traxxion Dynamics engine guard installed. I’ll probably reach out to Max and get his input. All the Best, James. PS: What video editing software are you using and is this on Microsoft or Mac machines?

    Well done video. You may mention cost, and delivery time. I have not researched this but is it made in UK, or USA? I appreciate the facts given that it is not a scam. Not much work needed on these new Wings, but so good for any service, like oil changes, but my cleaning efforts will surely get better when I have the lift. I wonder how it fits a 1975 GL1000?

  • @GoldRyderOne

    @GoldRyderOne

    Ай бұрын

    Thes cost was $890.00 total including everything. I bought mine from the UK and it was delivered in less than two weeks. Servicing the Gold Wing with this lift is great, but cleaning under the motorcycle is a major plus. You have a 1975 Gold Wing?

  • @IanM316
    @IanM316Ай бұрын

    I like how strong it is. Made very well. However, how stable is this stand. I get that it won’t tip forward because you have the two steal bars on the floor pointing under the bike. But what about tipping backwards were there is no bars extending the food print in both directions. Also would this work for a 2008 gold-wing?

  • @GoldRyderOne

    @GoldRyderOne

    Ай бұрын

    You can strap it down to the lifting arms for more stability. The support arms are based on the type of bike you have. When I ordered the lift, I had to select the mount that goes with my motorcycle and year.

  • @but_but629
    @but_but629Ай бұрын

    Two questions. Is it possible to jack the bike up with the Traxxion Dynamics engine guard in place and then remove the engine guard with the bike on the jack? If you remove the rear wheel with the bike up on the jack does it change the center of gravity enough to make the bike unsteady?

  • @GoldRyderOne

    @GoldRyderOne

    29 күн бұрын

    No, the right-side lift arm will be on the engine guard. I have not tried to remove the rear tire yet. However, I would strap the bike down before I would attempt any major maintenance that would involve the bike shifting. I have seen a video with the back tire removed from a Gold Wing while on the lift. Since I have not done it myself, I cannot verify that process. The lift also comes with some hook bolts, but I have not used them. I would strap the footpegs to the arms if I was going to remove the rear tire. I think I would be very creative with straps.

    You can strap it down to the lift arms. It also comes with hooks. I would never work on my Gold Wing without strapping it down first. All I know is that the lift is great. I don't work for the company, and they have no idea I made this video.
