Big Big Train is the BEST Prog Band in the world!!! Hear all them!!
RIP David, thanks for this beautiful song
That guitar solo and flute run at the end are absolute heart breakers. Time for a manful wibble of the upper lip. Again...
Awesomely beautiful!!!!
This is beautiful and it’s even more so poignant now with the very sad passing of David … this is a beautiful video and really does justice to the beautiful music…and such a beautiful young lady
There has never been a time where I’ve listened to this song and not cried. ✨💔✨
Yes tragic news of the passing away of the wonderful David Longdon. His mellifluous voice will always light up wintery days.
This song is so beautiful, always brings tears to my eyes
I have to say........this is the greatest song of all time IMHO. Wow...words cannot describe.
Rest in peace David.. 😢
So sad today when I heard that David had passed I love this song was supposed to have seen them in Canada before covid stopped it Will have to make do with the records RIP David you left some beautiful music
She likes to walk Down the lanes to the fields In the woods she finds a stream The water feels cold in the cup of her hands Down among the trees She spies butterflies Against the leaves With one brush of her hand They are captured and taken From the top of the hill Looking over the edge So far out of reach Further and further away She likes to see All the colours of the wings beneath the glass Then she turns down the light To keep them from fading away She likes to walk By the stream down to the shore From the source To the sea Looking over the edge Where the sky meets the waves So far out of reach With just one step She'd be free With one bound, with one leap A part we all play Oh, the end is the start Is the place where we came from A part we all play Oh, the end is the start Is the place where we came from Looking over the edge Counting the waves Follow the faultlines Up the side of the hill All the marks of an ancient sea You can see the traces At the end of the hedgerow Out of the field Looking over the edge As far as you can see Under the ordinary light She loved the colours of the wings against the green The first thing she saw and the last she hopes to see The parts we play, the start the end and everything, Everything in between She likes to walk By the stream down to the shore From the source To the sea Looking over the edge Where the sky meets the waves So far out of reach With just one step She'd be free Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Gregory Spawton

Wow! Most beautiful song Ive ever heard.
no other words, just beautiful, thank you xx
Absolute great musician, and a great band! A great teacher to add, Great to work with David on a personal level! Yet to see them live though!
And what a wonderful video it is. Until I had read your comments above, I believed this to be a professional promo by BBT. I hope you produce more of this ilk; simply beautiful, as is the music.
Amazing Job !! Last August, I flew from Mexico to witness the third concert of Big Big Train in Kings Place's Theater, in London. Your job could easily have been show during this song. You made me remember all the emotions experienced during the concert. thank you !!

Good Lord what rock have you been living under? There are far better bands than this. these are just a Genesis style rip-off. and pretty bland to boot.

@@millicent7368 Modern prog rock starting from the 90s is too bland in general, lacks creativity and not so memorable. Big Big Train and Deadsoul Tribe are the only decent bands I've heard in the last two decades. Now going back to the early 70s, there were many great bands but Genesis peaked at Foxtrot, anything that came after that album were utter shit.

Not my preferred type of channel but u deserved like 10 x more subs
😢😢❤️❤️👍🏼
Wonderful song - the video makes me slightly queasy as she goes around catching and exterminating lovely butterflies though!
Muy bueno el video!! ¿alguien podría poner este video con subtítulos en español? (pero con una buena traducción)
It's pretty! But I don't think you've thought about the lyrics: Looking over the edge.... With just one step, She'd be free

@@augustblue5972 Good point. I think I posted this as a response to a since-deleted comment.
It is also one of my top favourite songs by BBT. I do like this type of slower, melancholy songs, with big endings, I enjoy their use of a small brass band too, while I usually don't enjoy brass so much, because it's not in a jazz context, actually... BBT are becoming more renowned at last.... a little bit at least. And the video is really cool. :o)) Where do the images come from ?
Just imagine it. You fly through the wildness of the untamed nature. Wild and free. Then comes some human being, catches you with its tools, sticks you to death and preserves your natural perfection just for the sake of it. So that the human being can enjoy your colors and shapes. For nothing more. Can there possibly be anything more romantic than being tortured, killed and preserved just for the sake of being adored for your visuals? It's passionate! ... Don't get me wrong: I love that song. The music is amazing. But the lyrical topic is just way too questionable if you overthink about it. :P
New; 🇮🇲 Anthem? 👍🏼
To the thumbs down, go & listen to your James Arthur, Lewis capaldi, Ed sheeran records!!!
I love the song, but the video is not for me. I thought the song was about someone who helped butterflies - breed in captivity and then released them "and she is free", but the video is about catching and killing defenceless butterflies to display them as art. Great disappointment. I wish I hadn't seen it.
