Big Bear City CSD - A Variety of Garbage Trucks in the Snow!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here is a company that has been somewhat shy of the spotlight on KZread over the years, though many of you may remember a few of Bill's videos that showcased their older Pak Mor Front Loaders as well as others. A few weeks ago Marcus (wasteman226) and I made the drive up to Big Bear to check out some residential routes, knowing we could get some unique snow shots (for SoCal at least) as the area had experienced some snow storms recently and was due for a few more.
Big Bear CSD is one of two companies in the Big Bear region, the other being Big Bear Disposal, the two of which are completely unrelated. The main difference being CSD is city-funded while Disposal is private. CSD runs a pretty cool fleet which is unlike any other in Southern California, let alone the rest of the state. For me, their trucks were vaguely reminiscent of a fleet you might find on the East Coast or even Canada. Not shown in the video is another ACX/New Way Mammoth with a carry can and a newer ACX Curbtender. There might have been another couple hiding in the yard that we couldn't see.
0:00 - Freightliner M2/Pak Mor smooth body RL: we found this super chill crew knocking out some residential recycle just before it started snowing that afternoon. The helper was easily the funniest dude I've filmed in a while, and loved the garbage truck paparazzi that was following him for that part of his route.
4:18 - Freightliner 108SD/Rotopac: first Rotopac I've filmed which was pretty cool, not to mention one of very few in California. It was cool seeing them using a side loader on a conventional chassis, as it gave of huge Canadian vibes. It was a little slow but still a really neat truck.
7:18 - Autocar ACX/mini New Way Mammoth FL: We saw this driver also doing recycling in the same area as the Pak Mor. Not the most efficient operation by any means, for instance, it's what could be a low entry RHD truck but instead is a regular entry LHD with a one man crew. It definitely reminded me of the trucks Waste Connections runs in Cayucos. Nonetheless it was a pretty unique truck (being a smaller than average body).
That was the extent of what we filmed, and a huge thank you and shout out to all the friendly drivers who made the video possible. I hope you find the video!

I actually liked the part where the pakmor helper dabbed lol 😄. These toters look fairly new? Did GSD Big Bear ever do a cart rollout recently?
