    @@billythekid5196 if I had to guess I would say it is a fuel line or even a pinched fuel line. Can't really give a good guess without looking at it unfortunately. We have the first gen 872 which is the one most people had problems with, not really sure what all those problems were but I believe there were some vids made about that too. Honestly as you can read below some have good experiences some have bad, all of our experiences have been good, but I'm pretty hard core when it comes to maintaining our equipment too. Generally I give everything a good look when it is to be used, not to say that you or anyone else doesn't, I just know I'm ocd about it. I will break the powerheads down to the case and reassemble just to make sure all the bolts a good and tight, maybe not something most will do. I have found doing this you insure your tools are in good order but also you can correct problems from the manufacturer. I work on a tree farm and we have equipment shipped to us rather than picking it up. We had 2 identical kubota rtv1120x's shipped to us this past December. Going over the "PDI" with the dealer rep, they actually sent one unit missing the muffler mounts and the muffler itself only had 2 cap head bolts on the flange. The muffler mount(a fairly large mount mind you)and the 3 mounting bolts were not on the machine and did not have the paint where they typically would have been inspected. The other identical unit had missing seals on the drive shaft going from the pto to the front dif, a nice puddle was on the trailer too but they still wanted to go through the PDI. In the end we took delivery and they sent a field tech and after a little time past we were able to use them! So for all those who believe Chinese products a shit, other "quality" manufacturers make their fair share of shit too. Hope you get the carb sorted, you could always give the stateside store a call or reach out to Neo-tec on Facebook, I know yhey try to handle things that way too.

    G’day Ric, thanks for a great review on this saw. I have a couple of Sthil chainsaws (smaller ones) but can’t afford a larger size one after retirement, but I still need firewood and cutting larger timber isn’t feasible with the smaller saws. Looking at this 872 looks very affordable and big enough for what I need right now to safely and easily cut the bigger timber. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.

    Respectfully, the oil mix ratio has nothing to do with lean/rich. That's all in the carb. By the plug, looks like it just needs an adjustment, and hopefully not a re-jet. Bummer about the air filter design. Looks about impossible to keep debris out.

    Good review Ric, and you went thru this saw pretty good. Did a great overview of it. I'm impressed with how clean it is. Much cleaner than my MS 170 Stihl with approximately the same amount or maybe less hours on it. I bought the 170 about 6 years ago and have used it very little. Mostly because theres no comparison with my old 290 Farm Boss Stihl. Mainly just use it for topping trees and carry it on tractor or 4 wheeler. Thanks buddy.

    Hey Dean! Ya know it is the little things that matter. They seem to have added a couple of processes along with materials here and there(either better material or type change)that make the differences. Surprised would be an understatement I suppose. At one time I expected shortcomings, now it is being surprised by improvement I suppose. I think Neo-tec is raising the bar my friend! Farmertec better watch out, Stihl and Husky too!

    The more oil you put in the fuel that will cause it to run leaner not rich. The reason is oil displaces the fuel being metered in by the jet. This is one of the biggest mistakes I see from people when dealing with a 2-stroke engine. They run 25:1 can't understand why the plug is looking lean.

    Yes it does have a spur on it but it is possible to convert it to a rim sprocket. The ns892 does have a rim sprocket and was actually sent with several spare parts along with 1 extra 7 tooth and(1) 8 tooth sprocket. The tool kit also included an 8mm t-handle and a t-27 t-handle along with several other necessary tools, actually quite nice! Thanks for commenting 👍 and subscribing! Ric

    Jody sorry for the late response, like has been very busy round here... As for the oiler I have it adjusted all the way out before and have adjusted it back in about a 1/4. Seems like it only has one turn on it for adjustment. I know FT has a high capacity oiler which I do have but haven't used. I don't know what type of oil you use but the're are 2 different types of bar oil. Summer and winter. Summer is thicker and winter is thinner. Some people do no know that bar oil is engineered to be sticky as to stay on the chain. But when you use the wrong season oil it my not flow right. This could be one or more of the problems or possibly the oiler or even the rotor has is not connected to the gear or rod which rotates the oiler itself. In the winter I do but a cap full of fuel in the saw oil tank to help thin the oil for better flow. Hopefully this will help with your problem, Sorry for the delay. We haven't really been able to look at youtube for a while now, been very busy round here. Thanks for commenting, Ric

    Good morning sir! Great to hear about your 7.3! Actually just lost a connection on the heater core last week on ours and waiting for repair parts now, truck is great and plenty strong enough to move around things we need moved. I have owned the truck since 2007 and purchased it with 130k , can't complain and don't want the issues of newer equipment or the fuel economy for that matter! As for the 2 companies, we have corresponded with the owners of each company in great detail about many things. We spoke with Farmertec a little over 2 years ago. And Neo-tec this year about mid summer. They both are similar in the sense they have a product to sell and both believe in the product. I think the main difference in my opinion is that Neo-tec seems to work night and day to stay the course and continually develop all aspects of there business to provide all that is needed for all persons. Having said that they both make the equipment pretty much the same way, they use expired patents and build from there like most other business do. But, in our opinion Neo-tec's quality is much better, is it oem quality? I guess it depends on the day you receive the oem saw? For the equipment I can tell you Neo-tec does not want to be similar to Farmertec, they just want to be much better. Hope this helps, Happy new year's and thanks for commenting 👍 and subscribing!Ric

    Honestly I couldn't tell you on that simply because I haven't used the 872i. From what I have seen in other people using the "I" most of them like it better for either power or less quirks. I can say for ours it runs strong and we haven't had any issues whatsoever with it. I wish I could give a better answer for you but I haven't used the "I" or else I could say. Ours runs fine , maybe has 20 hours on it now.

    I saw where a guy bought one and it immediately had gas pouring out the muffler, gas cap had a hole in it, and plastics where already cracked by the pull cord. Deeper inspection of the piston already had scoring in the piston wall and the needle was put in wrong on the carb. My question is are you being positive about the saw because they have you a saw or are you being genuine about the product?

  • @CornucopiaFarmstead

    Good morning Brian. I can only speak for the product I have and the care we take in any equipment we use, but also can speak of my own personal experience with the manufacturer too. We do not own a 70+cc oem saw as the are just over priced and if you see from the other vids they do have there place but aren't the same which is why they are priced the way they are.We do break the saws down once we get them but also try and run them in at least 2 tanks(prior to actuallycutting with them). We aren't paid but in some cases they would send us an item. All that are sent to us are noted as a sponsored vid, those that aren't we have purchased personally. We have, me specifically are honest and genuine with how they run but also how they are received,hopefully clearly people can see through the vid how they run, please note if someone doesn't listen to what I actually say in the vid then they really haven't heard my opinion, just watching the cutting is only half the information. Hope this helps. Thanks for an honest question, Ric

  • @CornucopiaFarmstead

    @CornucopiaFarmstead

    2 жыл бұрын

    Good morning John. I believe the 872 would be fine to mill with and really, if you needed to you could mill some branches with the small saw. I would only suggest keeping an accessory bottle of lubricant to use manually. Your biggest limitation will be in the oiler on the saw. Having said that add a ripping chain, mill frame and this saw would get the job done. The first saw I used for milling(I still have this saw also)was a Poulan 50cc from 1997. Patience wood and a sharp chain you can mill. I use vp racing full synthetic oil in my fuel, I trust it and have used it for years. You need a synthetic oil minimum as the saw runs for longer periods of time. So finally, yes it wouldn't be an issue! Hope this helps. Thanks for commenting 👍 and subscribing! Ric

Might be something you can order through the US and have shipped to your home? I'm not sure how that will work yet. We are developing all of these saws and will likely have a random drawing for one of them in the near future. The plan at this point is to run and develop then tear down and check wear over the course of a years time. It's going to be a little bit unless the manufacturer sends us one to give away? I have ran the husky 372 xp and xt and it does compare very well to both of the Husqvarna saws. As for a comparison against the g372 I don't know. I can tell you we have the g444 and g466. We like the Neo-tec 872 better than both the g444 and g466. The performance of the g saws is good but this saw is just better compared to both of these.
