Also The result of this research indicates that Bidens pilosa can be utilized as an alternative in the manufacture of natural dyes. The dye produced from this plant can be well absorbed by the cotton fabrics and produces a yellow to brown color, while the Ludwigia octavalvis can be used as a medium for ecoprint with a really clear result and produces black color for the old leaves and green for the younger one.

It also retains much of its colour and makes a nutritious combination when boiled stinging nettle. Lots of iron.

I have these small fresh green plants growing all over my garden beds, literally taking over. I was told they were bidens pilosa. Will they hinder my veggie gardens?

Hi Silv M. Hi Silv m, Biden pilosa are super beneficial for companion planting. The flowers attract pollinators and the spiky seeds deter cabbage white butterfly, due to the potential damage to the butterflies wings. Biden pilosa are packed with nutrients too. leaves are great steamed or fresh or added to stir-fires and soups. The veggies will be greatly benefited by these plants. The Bidens pilosa also makes great trellises for climbing plants like peas and beans. Chewing the seeds is a great jaw exercise and keeps the cheeks healthy. Hope this helps

The name in Indian language is (Kumra, Kumur, Kurei). Not so sure about the spelling just that I lived in India for 6 years
