The NRP/Mariest poll out today has Biden up 2 points and the reason is exactly what voters continue saying even if the pundits are not listening .....In that poll 64 % thought Biden should drop out , many out of fear he can not win....However when asked what was more important as a dis qualifier , age , health or honesty.....and 2/3 rds chose going with an older candidate vs someone who is dishonest and it is easy to know which one of those they mean....)

I respect his service but he is being a stubborn old fool. He, and his family care more about their ego and their cat-bird seats than they care about the good of the country. Biden's decline is painfully obvious even to a first grader, as it was during the whole, hour late press conference. It's awkward and troubling - especially when he shouts to simulate vigor and slurs his speech at the same time; he sounds like a drunk, and it's really sad that his family is letting him, and enabling him to, humiliate himself.

@@Touti2423 I don’t think that democrats are wavering, regardless. If it’s Trump vs Biden, Biden ALL the way. But I think that all his public appearances are convincing the independents to vote elsewhere. And we need their vote. So for that simple reason, Biden needs to go, and get replaced with literally anyone that can debate Biden’s policies in a coherent way against Trump. Pete Buttigieg would be my first pick, but Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Jamie Raskin, literally anyone that can give the “show” that will convince the independents to vote democrat will do.

​@@Touti2423 VP Harris was picked to fulfill the most important duty one in her role can do, and that is to step in as president in case Biden is unable to finish the job. Voters were aware of that when they elected them both, and voters are aware of who she is already because of it. She would have access to the funds raised by their re-election campaign, and would prosecute the case against Donald Trump more effectively than Biden at this point. If Biden were to step down, the chance it wouldn't be her is infinitesimally small compared to the chance Biden drops out to begin with. She eliminates the concerns around age, and is polling better with younger voters and minorities. Voters are ready for a change. Nobody should pretend at this moment that the election is a binary choice between Biden and Trump. To believe this rigid choice is all we have and think "it is what it is" is to succumb to dreary thoughts of fatalism. You will suppress the vote by discouraging voters, and the polls show this. Though anecdotal, your neighbors and friends in blue states will say the same thing if they've even marginally paid attention to this election cycle.

We are gonna lose this election because he can’t give them the “show” that the independents require to persuade them to vote for him. He was voted in AGAIN in the primary. He got the delegates and now they are going to cast their vote for him. If they don't, then it's no different than Trump trying to send alternate electors to cast their vote for him instead of what the people wanted. Next time, vote in the primary. If you aren't registered you won't get a primary ballot.
