People in Mexico were disarmed by the government in the late 90’s. I was there when my grandfathers place was raided by soldiers, they took our rifles and shotguns. My cousins and I were 13 and had AK’s pointed at us while they told my grandpa they would shoot us all if we didnt listen. They knew who my grandpa was, they knew he fought in the Spanish civil war against Frnco and knew wha he had. We only saved 2 we had hidden in a cabin. They did the same to neighboring farms and ranches. Look at them now. Only cartels have guns. It seems they disarm us right before they take our freedom. BEWARE AMERICANS because we are next.

I was born in Brazil and currently live legally in Florida. I always thought that gun control laws could make the United States an even safer place. After dedicating time to studying the topic I can now clearly see the logic and validity of the Second Amendment in ensuring we remain a free country and enabling law-abiding citizens in protecting themselves and their loved ones. These statements by President Biden are disturbing, as well as the audience's laughter. If the real concern was gun safety, the answer should be in educating people and not limiting their access to firearms. At the end of the day, the bad guys will always have access to them, since they couldn't care less about the law. The county I come from demonstrates that perfectly, as criminals are heavily armed while private citizens have no effective means of self-protection. I wanted to immigrate to this country because I believe in the core American values, its position as a leading and exemplary nation, and as a beacon of development to the world. I can only hope that our leaders, governmental or not, display ethics and morals in honor of all who sacrificed their lives for this nation.

Same logic, applied here. But I'm assuming you're a socialist who thinks widespread government control will benefit everyone. Because you didn't pay attention in history class. I believe that our military personell are segregated among them selfs at this point. I have witnessed our troops in public places among each other and not speaking to one another. not even a smile shared between. during travel on leave they encounter others from different units, different MOS and different geological locations of duty and then there is not many from the same state or home towns in their units. no common ground and thats by design. in basic training there all one and tight after that they seperate down the ranks and units and strip you of all morale and give you rank in time of grade that they appoint you in leadership that will cause conflict and weak combat readiness as the chain is only as strong as the weakest link. and not to mention the government waste that is witnesed daily and the personal suffering of the individual solder and or family thats endured through out there time of service.Iask you ? how do you think our military is holding up ?.ex Trooper 81- 89 for country.

⁠@@electriceye1734it’s common sense. The US military is an all volunteer force who’s vets are the most targeted group (at the moment) for gun disarmament. Many in the military are vocal about their distaste for federal funding of Ukraine and Israeli conflict, which has basically devolved into congressional arms dealing.

As a former army vet, people like him and his congress are part of the reason I got out. I refuse to serve a government like this.

The Taliban did not beat the US via fire fight. The US won basically every conflict / engagement, the US lost because the economics did not work out. Most of our lives lost came from IEDs and suicide bombers. Huge difference. The people should be allowed to have AR-15s, but to believe that they would make a difference is extremely stupid. There are two kinds of guns that can make a difference in over throwing a government and they are concealable pistols that allow you to get close and accurate bolt action rifles that allow you to take people out from a distance.

It was created to provide for national and local defense in the absence of a standing army, which the new country could not afford and did not want.Individuals were to provide their own guns, since the US could not afford to provide them. It was to be "well regulated", that is, under a chain of command, not an independent bunch of gun toting rowdies. It was to be composed of white men, who were at the time the only full citizens of the United States. There is NO provision in the Constitution for ANY group of people to decide by themselves that "tyranny" has taken over America and that this gives them the right to shoot at cps, soldiers, or anyone else. If those groups, and others like them, decide to take up arms against the US government, they are committing Treason and are subject to arrest and punishment according to law, The Constitution provides AMPLE means for people to make their will known, to change the people who hold office, to rally, debate, spread propaganda and otherwise alert their countrymen to such dangers as they may believe exist. It does NOT provide for violent insurrection as a means of governing the country, and in fact regards it as a CRIME to be punished, if necessary by deployment of government forces. The Constitution provides for a STABLE, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC in which ALL derives from the People, not just from those who happen to own guns, or who happen to be of a certain race, or who happen to watch a lot of conspiracy garbage on TV.

Biden said it himself... F-16's need to be made available to the general public because that is what's needed to fulfil the purpose of the Second Amendment.

The difference being that the average American doesn't have the ability to dig a complex tunnel network to fight the govt. As a soldier of the national guard, I would not follow an order to take people's weapons nor to fire upon US citizens. I think it's pretty unrealistic to think the US government would even be able to implement the usage of tanks/attack helicopters/f16 so on

Back when the 2nd ammendment was written you could buy a warship if you had the money and that is where the privateers came in and they were basically soldiers of fortune One more point, back then every man of age was required to be a part of the militia. When called up be it for defence of the colonie or in times of natural disaster every single able bodied man came to help. They were also required to show up with a weapon. Some didnt have a musket so they showed up with a pitchfork or other tool that could be used. These are the people who showed up at Lexington and and Concord. Yes many were slauterer but they took a stand against the English. In the revolution we were loosing until the French came to our aid providing naval support, troops, and arms. No an AR-15 is no match for an F-16 but it is pur right to defend ourselves and our constitution, that same constitution that members of the military, and police swear to defend and protect

Not one politician or supreme court judge in this country has a shred of integrity, and impeachment relies on politicians and judges with integrity. Th US military is constitutionally bound by an Oath to obey the chain of command, which go all the way up to the Commander in Chief elected by the People. There is always a Commander in Chief with the full authority of the Constitution behind him or her. In the Civil War, many soldiers betrayed their Oath and took up arms against the Constitution they had sworn to defend. President Lincoln ordered that these men be forced to surrender to the authority of the Constitution, or suffer death or wounds if they refused. If any US soldier betrays his Oath he is committing a serious crime; the exact nature of his betrayal will be part of any court martial or trial he must face if captured alive. We are talking here about the dissolution of the armed forces, the bulwark of American security in the world, depended upon by many allied nations as their strongest guarantee against invasion or subversion.
