He didn’t correct himself for the Kamala/Trump slip, unless I’m missing something. I did listen for it multiple times in the full video. Truthfully I make the same mistake often, but I do have adhd which causes cognitive delays to a certain extent. Sometimes I’ve been in meetings and have used the wrong name and maybe realized it later, sometimes I’ve even asked out loud did I use the wrong name. It could be nothing but it could be a problem. But compared to his baseline he wasn’t doing this before and now he is. I think in addition to this the multiple unfinished sentences could indicate an issue.

I watched the entire press conference. Biden showed a very deep knowledge of foreign affairs - Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, China. It's ridiculous to even think of comparing him to Trump who probably couldn't find Italy on a map.

Obama had a poor performance in 2012 but won the election. Hillary Clinton was up by 5 points towards election day but lost due to the emails, yet trump lost the popular vote. That what's im seeing in this election. Only problem with biden is his gaffes but he has knowledge of international/domestic affairs. Honestly I don't know what should happen.

You are in the strong minority of voters in the country according to the polling. This guy can’t do 5 more years of governance and it’s plainly obvious to anyone, let alone anyone without a bias. We shouldn’t choke down a Biden candidacy when we don’t have to. There were essentially no primaries, people played hide the ball with Biden’s mental state during primaries, people would have voted for anyone else if given the choice with all this in mind. The polling bares this out as well. We have the ability to get out of a situation where we have a guy we are hoping can string a sentence together vs a psychopathic narcissist. republikkkans have already shown they have no standards. They are unmovable and have a propaganda ecosystem that supports this unbalanced playing field. We can't expect that out of the other party. But let's also not pretend that having some standards on the left is "impossible" standards. The debate was a self-inflicted wound. That's on Biden. He had one job, to counter existing concerns that he wasn't up for the rigorous campaign. He utterly failed. The only reason this is a topic is because he made it a topic because it was bad in a way no one had seen in such a setting. If that debate disaster didn't happen, these two gaffes would carry much less weight. But it did happen, so it's not unreasonable to consider these more evidence of a problem.

The general question is not to compare the cognitive lapses of an 81 or 79 year old, even if the older one has more foresight, democratic understanding and leadership quality. The question is how it can be that a country like the USA has nothing hopeful or alternative to offer in the political landscape under the age of 79. Money, money, money, power, power - yiiieeeah?! Biden is clearly ahead when it comes to political and economic experience and understanding of democracy, But to accomplish this feat of strength at this age (which of course does absolutely nothing to rejuvenate him) and to seek another candidacy for lack of alternatives speaks volumes. And why Trump, with all his transgressions in pretty much all areas, is being chauffeured around at 79 years of age as a wise draught horse as a savior for the USA and its problems also speaks volumes.

Trump makes so many speaking mistakes that this focus from the right is totally disingenuous. Yet more, you add a gaff he made at a different event into this one to justify saying he didnt "do the job". Exactly how high is the bar for you? Trump messes up names in every speech and always has, you just don't see it because he's your guy. Biden has also always had this problem and while it's gotten worse lately, so has Trump's. "Saudi Arabia and Russian Re Be Do- ahhhhhh," comes to mind. Biden gets a name or two wrong here or there, Trump glitches and starts speaking in tongues. One of these is drastically worse than the other if you know anything about cognitive function. Spoiler: getting names wrong is a very very common issue and due to the way our brains are wired to pull from recent information when multitasking or stressed. Now just straight up slurring words, that is not normal, and very concerning from a cognitive decline standpoint. Go read up on some scientific papers on the subject and you might change your tune if you're not too far gone.

zero chance he gets through 4 years. we are looking at probably his first 100 days and then I think he'd step down. If Kamala then did well, she'd have 2 more elections to run. Potentially making her a 3 term candidate. And if she were to choose, say, Andy Beshear to fill the VP role, it could work out extremely well for the Democrats

If it is occasional name mix-ups that I need to be concerned about, it does not bother me. President Biden has competent aides around him who can step in and support him with those mix-ups. There are names called so often, I can understand that at some moments they got mixed up. Especially when all play a big role, the day is full of meetings and tiredness will get a hold. Biden has very good moments, something one can not say of Drumpf, and good people around him. It's his administration as a whole who did a good job the last 3,5 years. He need to go on.
