I have been listening to baroque music for forty years now, yet everytime I play this video I am so utterly moved. A superb interpretation of a piece written to seize one's heart.
I've owned a 13c. Baroque Lute since 1985.... since a hand accident left me unable to play... this is what I always thought the instrument deserves...
This is just breathtaking. What a wealth of colour in the chordal passages. Who needs a piano?
Thank You Xavier. Ave Maria Gratia Plena, Bless you Xavier!
I'm awed. My dogs are awed.

The lute garnered much literature. It reigned for nearly 300 years. A grand era. Thanks for keeping this alive.

So melliflously executed.
Listening to this now has just motivated me to incorporate more ornamentation in my guitar playing. Well done

Beaucoup de mélancolie et de profondeur dans ce morceau savoureu à entendre❤❤❤

Ha, how ironic. I should try playing it from the violin score on my guitar; should be fun. Btw, has Daniel just created a new word? Lutenistic? Gee, you lute players are an odd bunch. ;)

if I could, why couldn't you? ;)

Is that really a new word? Lutenist is a word and you can usually derive -istic from an -ist word. In any event, I like it and I shall seek out the opportunity to describe something as lutenistic although I am not sure how.
Nicely done! This gives me hope for my goal of adapting parts of harmonia artificioso to harpsichord
Me encanta Xavier! inspira más que las de violín, enhorabuena!!

Now serious. John Williams played Bach chaconne on guitar. There are a few lines noticed in chords. On violin you can hear bariolages, it sounds like a technical sensation. On guitar it sounds like finger picking of a folk guitarist. It lasts more than a minute and is booring. John Wiliams himself said so. There is a problem by playing violin peaces on the lute, expecially here. Can you show a solution? Maybe by always changing the rhythm?@@laberintosingeniosos
