This is the best bias binding tutorial on KZread! Using a contrast color really makes it pop, and you went slow enough that I can see the steps and the camera angles were really good. It’s frustrating when you see one of those tutorials where the person‘s hand is in the way the whole time LOL. Thank you so much for this great resource!

Super demonstration on bias tape! Love it.Thank you .
Thank you Liesl! An excellent teacher -- does not mince words, does not over-explain or complicate steps, exceedingly clear, nimble fingered and visible in example, neutral and informative, answers questions before i even have them. I'll share these with my community of sewers who have always sewn but been intimidated to try patterns and "official" techniques! Illuminating new tools!
I bought a bias tool many years ago & forgot how to use it 😊. Thank u for showing how to make bias with & without the tool. Also how to sew using thin or delicate material 👍🏾❤️💯💯💯💯💯
I love how you were using different colours so I can see clearly wht your doing. Great tutorial a d I love it
So good and what a calm and beatiful voice you have. Thank you
You have a lovely voice for these video tutorials. Thanks for making this video.
I wish I could click the like button a million times. You are great. I am starting to sew, and I never knew there was something call bias tape maker, and neither a sowing ham. Just ordered both. Gracias!!!
A great tutorial. You are an amazing teacher. The best video I have ever seen. Thank you so much 💓💓💓
Hello, Just wanted to thank you for this wonderfully well shot video. You've covered every detail needed to help us here. You voice and overall demeanure (I think that's the right word - French lady here) has brought calm. Just for that alone ty. Your efforts and time shooting and posting this is very generous. Stay well!
Very good detailed instructions. Thanks
So well explained and filmed, thank you
Liesl Gibson is MY FAVORITE Teacher !!! I Love Her !! Well, my Husband 1rst.. and then Liesl !
Great tutorial! Clear visuals, excellent teacher, I'm confident to try my first baby bib finishing it with bias tape! Thank you
I’m just learning how to sew. I really appreciate your video on bias and facing video. The instructor was so pleasant to listen too and really helped me understand. I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your efforts. I have subscribed
Very good tutorial and I like your pace and soothing voice too.
Excellent tutorial. And a gorgeous shirt! Many thanks!
Superb tutorial. Thank you. I am very impressed with the camera work, the editing, and the sound. Very professional. Clearly, Ms. Gibson has a ton of patience. It helps to have slender, pointed fingers to do this detail work. My construction hands make it more daunting. I had heard people claim to make their own bias tape, but this is the first time I've seen it done. The little tool to prevent finger scorch is interesting if you can get the hang of it. I guess practice makes perfect. I look forward to learning more.
Your voice is most soothing. I love the video. Peace ☯
Excellent teaching video. Love your voice and hiw you explain everything and why you do it that way. Hope to. See more video from you.
Fabulous! Clear, concise instruction. Very well done. This instructor is a true professional - both as a sewist and as an educator as well. I'm subscribing. ;-)
This tip of making an X in the fabric was sensational, now I'm going to hit it finally.
Perfect tutorial. Thank you!
Best video and shot, thanks
can't believe how talented and patient you are in your sewing. Thank you for the clear video. Can't think that I can ever do this to such precision but I'm definitely inspired to try.

yes I saw that- her patience
Thank you, very informative and confidence building for a beginner, you didn't assume we know the terms, materials or process. I learned a lot about fabric, bias, finishing and of course this facing technique. Excellent and thank you again.
thanks for sharing! very informative and neat presentation!!
Great tutorial, I've watched many bias binding videos. However, yours seem to more simplex and detailed. Mostly everyone tries to go so fast and not really explain what is being done to brain the objective. 👍 Thanks for sharing.
god bless you for sharing your talent .
Thank you very much for this great tutorial.
Dear Liesl, I came across this video by Happenstance. I buy a lot of bias tape. You should try the tube method. Easy Peary when making lots of bias tape.
That was very clear and easy to follow, thank you

What a wonderful video. I am so glad I came across this. (I felt your pain with the steam iron!) I can't believe I've never used this technique but I certainly will be from now on; such a lovely result. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and I have to agree with others about your calm voice :)

Hi, thanks for this tutorial. Would you use this technique on tshirts too? I have a lot of round necks that I want to turn into lower cut ones.

Hi there - you would want to be sure to use a zig-zag stitch to keep the necklines nice and stretchy! Happy sewing!
Nice video clear explanation kindly provide more free videos
Thanku.👗
You could use the 45 degree angles marked on your mat. There are several.
Great video. I'm new to garment sewing and your videos very helpful! Can you tell me what pattern the blouse is? Very cute!
That's now how you use a bias tape maker, creeping along an inch at a time. They are really fast and accurate when used properly. You need to put a little bit of tension on the back end of the fabric e.g put it under a weight. You can then pull through a foot or more at a time, perfectly folded and iron it.
Thanks, and am now ordering the bias binding makers...

Hi thanks for the lovely vedio. Pls try vilene bias perforated tapes for neck line which is much more easy and time saving.
Thankyoy
My fabric has open, embroidered flowers on it, and I’m having trouble with the bias binding. I think it may be due to the flowers having no give. I’m at my wits end trying to make this work.
What is the importance of bias tape? Is it better than just a simple hem or does it help to make sure the edges don't fray?
Hi Liesl, thanks a lot for this nice video, it is very clear and well done. I just have a little question : at the 18:25 minute you said something I could not hear well, you said ''if you have a .....?. Can you please tell me what that was so I can get it to make the sewing easier. Thanks again.

***** Oh that was it.. I couldn't hear it sorry. Now I know, thanks a lot.
Can you please make a video (not even sure if this is a possible technique because I'm new to sewing) on how to finish a decorative pillow or the last part of a blanket without the stitches showing. I tried to make a blanket for my son with two different prints of fabric (one on top, one on bottom) but when I got to the last corner, I didn't know how to finish that last inch with my machine without showing the stitches and the hem allowance..
Thank you! Have a bless Jesus Christ year.
❤❤❤
So, to get the Bias.. You say the selvage edge is the Vertical Thread.. I'm a bit confused, You mentioned that you clipped a tread and pulled it out to know that you've got it laid out correctly ? I'm new to this. Also this video is made in 2014, So I'm just winging this comment, to see or not to see ~ A response . Lol... Okay... 3.2.1... Nothing, Awe too bad for me.
