Bi vs Pan vs Omni vs Queer | Multisexuality

Hello, lovely humans! Let's discuss the various definitions of bisexuality and pansexuality, and how they interrelate within a multisexual experience alongside those who are omnisexual, queer, or have a multi-romantic orientation. To what extent do the labels we use have to correlate with our internal experience? What is the difference between being pansexual, and being bi?

I think this was an awesome in depth look at multi sexuality. Personally I identify as aroace but I still like forming deep connections with people (the term queer platonic relationship really resonates with me). recently discovering the label of an angled aroace has me thinking I’m a pan angled aroace referring to my attraction to close platonic intimacy if that makes any sense. I might be getting too deep into labels tho and should just vibe lol

I identify as an aego, omni and demiromantic cis female. She/her pronouns. I'm also considered an elder, since I will be 64 this year. Thank you for your inspiring and informative videos. 🦋

The videos on this channel are always interesting! I heard the definition "attraction to gender(s) like your own, and gender(s) unlike your own" for bisexual, and that works for me. But the first definition you supplied is close to that, so 👍. I definitely have a preference for men, which is why it took me so many decades to realize I'm not straight!🤦‍♀🤷‍♀😂 Blessed day/night to you! 🙏❤🏳‍🌈🏳‍⚧

I personally just found out I'm pan after months of questioning and using both bi and pan to explain my experiences. But, at the end of the day; I found that for me love has no gender and it's more about the soul of who a person is than their physical body. It all feels the same for me. Loving a non binary person, a woman, or a man; doesn't matter. All that matters is who you are on the inside.

I identify as biromantic asexual, transman and I use he/they. I thought was aroace for a while because after I got out of a relationship I didn't think I wanted to date anymore and that I just had sensual attraction to 2 or more genders. Meaning hugging, cuddling, hand holding, kissing, etc. That might be me as I am still questioning myself and all I really know at this point is that I'm asexual. I currently have a crush on someone and my feelings for her are making me think that I do want to date people but I honestly don't know how I feel entirely. edit: i might have figured it out: genderqueer and nonbinary and aroace and sensual attraction for everyone so queer

I really appreciate hearing another ace person talk about feeling connected to a multi(sexual) label as I am ace yet still feel connected to both bisexual and omnisexual. Especially as a sex favorable ace I feel terms like bisexual are still relevant to me even if it's in a less traditional sense. None-the-less I've had other queer people correct me when I refer to myself as bi or omnisexual because I'm ace, which I guess is understandable i guess. Like I understand the confusion. Then they'll tell me you're actually omniromantic not sexual, but I've never felt connected to that. Yeah turns out that I'm also probably aro. I'm having the whole imposter syndrome thing with it. Anyway I tried to have a conversation about this in r/asexuality because I thought it was an interesting topic, but no one seemed to really get it. Sorry if that's a super long-winded way of saying I found this video really cool. I've also had a lot of complicated feelings over the years whether I identify more with bi, pan, omni, poly etc. Then I also identify a lot with lesbian and sapphic too. Also other kind of similar labels like neptunic and trixic. And I suppose I could always throw in another tertiary attraction to make it more accurate, but I don't really feel the need to.

To be honest I dont know which label i fall under, I tend to say I am bisexual when I shall explain my sexuality, because that is what most people are familiar with, but this video made me think alittle in a good way. I think I will start saying I am multisexual, that way you dont to find out if you are bi/pan etc. I am also demisexual. So I think I will start using demisexual and multisexual. I only feel sexual attraction when I have feelings for that person, but I can get attracted to all sex and genders (some days have preferences and some days I dont).

Off topic but your background looks so nice! I can't stop staring at the lava lamp, which is a good reason why I don't own one, because i would just be staring at it all the time I'm a-spec, or at least for the moment, I think I am. I opt to tell people I'm asexual simply because it's easier, and even if I have to explain to them, I don't understand myself either. I haven't, as far as i've remembered, felt romantic attraction, and for the longest time I thought heartbeat going up and your face flushing red are just exaggerations in fictional writings! But I don't feel like I'm ready to say that I'm aro either. I've been for a very long time felt like i don't really deserve the labels (both ace and aro), I'm mostly afraid that I'm going to find out I'm not, and then have to tell people once again. But hey, my sexuality or romantic orientation isn't really a thing I have to deal with in my daily life, and rather than scratching my head out for this, I think I'll just deal with it when it arises

Awesome video, I love hearing all the different perspectives! I personally consider myself bi and ace-spec, I like just saying bi because it doesn't specify whether it's sexual or romantic or both (just like my attraction lol). To me being bi means I like people on at least two very different positions on the gender spectrum, like I feel like for non-multisexual people their attraction kind of fits to one gender area, like people can be different genders within that but they all have something in common gender-wise (for example how lesbians can like women and nb people who are different genders but have not being men in common). I also really can't relate to people saying bisexual is like being sexually attracted to both male and female bodies, because I feel like every sexuality can be? Like a straight guy can be sexually attracted to someone with a male body if they're a woman or woman-aligned. Also the sexual attraction I experience has nothing to do with appearance and isn't triggered by looking at someone I'm sexually attracted to at all. Ofc if that's how someone defines their bisexuality that's great, it just doesn't work for me

I identify as pan ace enby, im pansexual in the way that i experience attraction to many people regardless of gender, but gender does play a role, for instance i have a type of girl i like, and a type of boy i like, and i havent found my type of enbies but i like even more of them than others, i identify gray ace, because i know im somewhere on the asexual spectrum, but not completely ace, and i identify as enby, or demiboy at times for my gender identity, my friend put it best "freak doesnt have gender" because thats how i am

I relate to feeling both asexual and pansexual. I'm a sex favorable asexual so I do have desires and those desires feel bisexual. I personally like to explain my bisexuality as attraction to the same and opposite genders and just attraction to all genders. I also don't think I'm gender blind, I think gender does play a factor. I want to kiss all the cool xenogender genderqueers lol.

Thank you so much for your dedication to this channel, it is so beautiful, gorgeous and educational :_) I'm allosexual but came here to learn to understand a friend better, and for knowledge itself. This video meant to me a lot, because the label pansexual as you described it in your personal experience, resonate a lot with how I feel attraction. Gender is an important part to me, but the point is how gender "points" are mixed in that person, the combination of their expression is what I like (among other qualities of the person, of course) , but I like all of them (well, except extreme normative gender expressions, I don't feel attraction to them). Also, for me is important, even if I know that nowadays bisexual definition is transinclusive, I still think that politically, the term "pan" is more useful than "bi" if we fight against binarism, but still I understand that bisexual is a perfectly fine word and I use it a lot of times too, because is more popular and its definition is very similar to pans. But when you mentioned that pansexuality is defined as "gender blind", actually I thought that it was more of a cliché than a definition, but... it is true that language is created by the ideas that give meaning to the words so... is true that that is the prominent definition that is given to pansexuality, and it is perfectly logical and valid to some people as well, so... yeah, now I see it from another perspective. Thank you very much for opening minds in such respectful way. Pansex is still the label I like the most, but it's true that it doesn't fit perfectly in my personal experience as it is defined frequently.

Omni-romantic definition fits better what I feel, but it's less well known so I tend to go with Pan.

I’ve always seen the definitions as very literal. Bi: attraction to any 2 genders Pan: attraction to all genders Omni: attraction to all with preferences Poly: attraction to many, but not all, genders Queer: experiencing attraction that isn’t straight This is the most simple explanation to me. Obviously it is more nuanced, and there isn’t a right way to experience a label. If you define these labels differently, there is nothing wrong with that.

I really liked the one that was biro/ace cause I like girls/nonbinary people and think the bi ace flag look good together tbh that’s kinda how I feel but I like to say lesbian or bi/lesbian to better describe my attraction but I can’t tell if it’s queer platonic or romantic and consider my self an aro/ace nonbinary bi/lesbian but that really long so I just call my self aro/ace or asexual or nonbinary aro/ace or demifluid aro/ace
