@@drooleybob Haha my computer talks to me. I have a braille keyboard. BUT a person legally blind his or her best eye has less than 20/200 vision or less with the help of glasses or contact lenses. Having 20/200 vision means that a person cannot be more than 6 m (20 ft) away to see what a person with normal vision can see from 60 m (200 ft) away. We say legally blind vs blind as I do have some light perception. Hope this educated you a bit.

Couple of points: First, seeing how the woman in the red saree spoke in Hindi, and you chose to translate that in your own English, I say stick to it; 'Orientalising' the woman's accent seems unnecessary. I mean we oughta be past those kinds of determinisms by now. Second, the Bhangarh legend always had a Gothic feel about it. This story kinda drove right into that trope! Especially how the woman in the red saree actually both starts and ends the journey! Also, the barter of life for life! Nice finishing touch there! 🌻
