Point of fact it was she who dumped him, not the other way round.He was offered a contract as an opera singer,she was not. Simon was right in his foresight on their very first appearance on BGT when he said "dump her, she will hold you back" And of course the rest is history. I rest my case!

Jonathan and Charlotte were never more than just friends who shared a vocal coach. The vocal coach encouraged them to sing together for the audition because Charlotte was outgoing and confident and Jonathan was the opposite. Charlotte's dream was to do musical theater and never classical music.

Start with Google, on the top right enter images, then input his name. One shot shows the weight he lost (black suit) but he kept his baby face. It appears he regained, but on the plus side, he got married. He lost touch with Charlotte. Apparently she went into Musical Theater which was what she wanted.

A once in a generation opera voice. To be bested by a dog act was absolute injustice.

Why no update on Charlotte. Ive been following her. She's in on The East End and Broadway shows and is extremely successful at what she really wanted to do from day one of her entry into music.

Spot on. Apart from the singing and their friendship, Charlotte was his emotional crutch. Jonathan could barely stand up in front of a crowd and that's where Charlotte came in. His confidence level was near zero. So, how is it possible to take someone who has a very low level of self esteem and confidence and turn them into a star? (You will remember when Simon suggested that for Jonathan to have a future, he will have to go it on his own. Jonathan promptly declared that without Charlotte, "they" were going now. At that point, Jonathan knew that he had no future without her) Enter Charlotte. Sadly, she has long been forgotten! I am sure that the one truth she always holds on to is the true story behind the story, which she believes will always prevail!!!

When she filled out the BGT application she was just going to put her own name down, then she added his (without asking first) because she felt she would get farther with him than she would alone. After over a year of performing together their creative differences and busy schedule are what separated them. She didn't want to do opera-style singing, she wanted to do musical theater, and that is what she is now doing.

This show helped Jonathan in so many ways, and having Charolotte with him gave him the confidence he needed. I love them both. Thank you.

Jonathan is a beautiful soul with an incredible voice and talent but Charlotte is doing what her heart wanted in musical theater. They both followed their individual paths but Jonathan is a slimmer mature person albeit still very recognizable 10 years on. Their work together gave both the confidence to excel on the stages where their talents can soar.

Mentioning someone’s weight is out of line.Its humiliating and painful for the person struggling with this horrible food addiction.Jonathan if your reading here your an amazing person and very talented.It took you a million and one voices in your head to go on stage infront if billions of people .You are an inspiration and role model to anyone struggling with food issues.I am 30 pounds overweight and could never go up on stage or speak infront of a large group..With every song you sing and heart that you fill with your voice how you look is irrelevant.Thankyou for passing on your gift and teaching us that music isn’t about anything other than our souls singing and Gods given gift to mankind.Keep doing what you do and don’t listen to body shamers stay true to yourself and God Bless.

His singing was outstanding!!!! Really gifted and humble ! God bless him!

I 100% agree with wispi wisp. They were two high school friends who had different dreams for their style of music. Nothing more, nothing less. Most of us drift away from school friends as we go into adulthood. That is why if we did have school friendships that carried on, they are so special to us especially as we grow older and older. More power to both of them for finding success in their chosen genres!

I also love Jonathan's voice, and performances!

I rarely think about Jonathan in relation to his weight (except for health concerns). For me, it's all about the VOICE, his growth in self-confidence and maturity, and his catapulting to operatic stardom along with all the other greats, including Paul Potts!

I'm a huge Jonathan Antoine fan. If he tours Canada, hopefully he can add a stop in either Kamloops or Kelowna. I would love to hear him sing in person.

I'm still waiting to see why he's unrecognizable now.

I’m sure in the first 2 minutes of their audition everyone was watching Jonathon and knew immediately he was a star. She only blended in in the background. Not saying she is not talented and have a beautiful voice but everyone was enamored with and mesmerized with Jon.

I agree, but he needed her in those early stages as he didn't have the confidence to stand up there alone. Considering that she openly said she wasn't a classical singer and instead wanted to pursue musical theatre, she was a great friend to him to get up there, singing outside of her comfort zone and blending into the background (I imagine she would have looked more impressive singing alone than being compared to his phenomenal voice), in order to give him the confidence he needed to start his career.

So she also knew that singing with Jonathan she had more chance to win so she wasn't so confident in herself she was confident in the combination. So she was more aware that him that he was massively talented ... She just forgot to think that next to Jonathan's level she would be a bit invisible. So in the end both needed each other at the beginning!

@@sanaconmantra I think she said "yes together" because she knew just how talented he was, but that he needed her support to tap into it properly. It was to give him confidence. She also knew his voice would overpower hers and stand out more, so people would be drawn to it. Think of one of the best West End performers. On their own, they're sensational. Put them next to Pavarotti and you'd struggle to notice them. She knew that would happen to her, because whilst she is talented, he has an incredibly rare gift. I think they both knew that it wasn't a "forever partnership" (this show is a stepping stone for all the contestants). She was clear that she wanted to go into musical theatre from the start and knew she could get useful experience by doing this, but she could also have taken very different routes. She had the confidence to do it. He didn't. By entering alongside him, knowing she would be outshone, she ensured he got a break. Yes, she got something out of it, too (& she deserves that), but I don't think we would know who this incredibly talented young man is if she hadn't accompanied him and helped him come out of his shell. I don't believe he would have got up there on his own without her. She gave him the confidence to shine.

​@@sopissedoff LOL, SHE wanted to go alone. She had put her musical theater dreams aside for a year in order to do the albums and tour with Jonathan. So she finished school and is now performing in London at the West End, which was her dream. They are each very happy and successful doing what they love. To me a snake is someone who goes around the internet spreading lies and rumors about somebody they are jealous of. I feel sorry for you. You sound like an old bully.

I can't seem to get enough of Jonathan's voice. Having watched him from the BGT show I continue to hear improvements in his voice. I am glad that he is able to get his weight under control. I can't wait till he has an opening in the USA where I can hear him in real time. He and Charlotte may have gotten beaten out by a dog act, but he and Charlotte were the real winners of the show.

He has an amazing opera voice esp when we first heard him on the show, thankyou Simon for assisting him .

Good for him!! Simon knows what talent is. When I first heard Johnathan I was blown away. He's as good as LUCIANO PAVAROTTI! The scary thing about Simon is that he would say what I was thinking at times. I have a good ear for music. Simon was spot on and he made a great choice by signing Johnathan up. I wish Johnathan the best in all that he does! I wish him much happiness as well!

Their BGT audition was back in 2012. At the end Simon signed them to his SYCO record label for 1M British Pounds. They made 2 albums and toured together. Next, SONY offered them each a Solo Contract. Charlotte's album was released first . After, She Decided To Return To Music Arts School And Graduate. She now has a successful carer in Musical Theatre which was always her dream and has performed in London's West End! Both are doing what they love. Jonathan has multiple Solo albums, several reached #1 on the UK Classical Music Chart. He is very popular in Canada and the USA. His Sold out 2019 Toronto concerts were filmed for PBS TV. He recently had concerts in LA at the Beautiful Walt Disney Concert Hall, where he received a Standing Ovation after every song! His Music Videos of "Amazing Grace" and "These Are The Special Times/Momenti Splendidi"(A Best global Music Video Award winner) and "Io Si/Seen" is per Grammy Award winning composer Diane Warren's request! It debuted at #1 on itunes music chart. Check out "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from his Toronto concerts. He also sings Beautifully in German.

He has a beautiful voice although, unless Charlotte has done something unforgivable, she is worth checking in with. Disappointing to only hear one side of the story.

Kind of sad. She stood for Jon when others bullied him. He stood up for Charlotte when Simon wanted to split them up. He should be the "bigger" person and kept their friendship together.

They were very good for each other. Charlotte genuinely seems to be a good person and people got to see that and know that about her. Even though she does have considerable singing talent, I don't know whether anybody would have noticed her were it not for her pairing with Jonathan. Jonathan is obviously very talented. But he lacked self-confidence. And so without Charlotte, it's probably true that he would have remained sheltered and also would not have been noticed. And so they both benefited from joining together as a duo. I'm very happy for them both.

Congrats to him for losing a lot of weight, but he’s still hefty and has the same hairstyle. He’s easily recognizable. Best wishes to him in achieving a healthy weight in the future.

Both very gifted talents. Both successful in their own right. I grew up in the south in what you might call the boom docks. But I will fall for the classical singers every time. Love these 2. Cried watching Paul Potts and of course, Susan Boyle. Sometimes these are the very singers that are such a surprise.

Keto diet will not only put him at a healthy weight but add many years of quality life. He can avoid years of bodily injury and sickness, countless prescription drugs etc., by simply eating the right food and avoiding the wrong food. Simple as that, good luck in life Jonathan.

Money drove them apart ... they do not even speak to each other today...Charlotte was the glue and magic that gave Jonathon his voice. He is good alone but only magical when Charlotte is next to him... symbiosis only works properly that way . Her voice was amazing as well and complimented Jonathon so well it's why they were so amazing. Shame we wont ever see them on stage performing again. They really were world class together. Well, googled his transformation. He certainly has lost weight and not as big as he was 10 years ago. Can't believe 10 years has passed by since the BGT audition.

She WAS offered the same deal. Sony offered them each a solo recording deal. Her album came out first. But she wanted musical theater so she went back to school and is now performing in musicals in London at the West End which was her dream!

I’m looking forward to hearing how he sounds now. He was amazing at17- he should be astounding at 27!

In 20 years a reunion???......such is gratitude.....the guy would still be in his shell and weighing 550 lbs if not for her 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Charlotte was his gate opener in performing music......... / I do not know, how greatful he was (and still is) when it comes to that point.

The first thing that success and money do is to destroy relationships between friends and family members. I guess that I'm too old-school in that, if I had to choose between friends, family, or money and success, I'd pick the happiness of having my family and friends every time. I've NEVER been scared to work for what little I may have. They can keep their money.

Headline is about weight loss. Video has less about that than the headline does.

I hope Charlett Charlett didn't get alot of hate saying she was bringing him down. I believe she's the one that gave him the strength to get out there. I wish her all the best in her long life.

A £1M record from Simon means nothing! All it means is that they will spend £1M on publicity, agents, make up artist, trainer, transport, booking venues etc and release one single! Also, the artist doesn't see a penny of that initial million investment until they have sold a million albums! In other words, for every £10M you make Simon, youll get £100,000, if you're lucky! Worst capitalist n record deals in the Industry! Plus, you"ll have to sign a confidentiality agreement and a dozen other contracts signing your life away and prevention you saying a bad word about him or his label in future, even if he drops you, or face legal bankruptcy! 😡

@Creative Dave. Yes but remember that without Simon they would probably never have any album. Who would give them the initial one-million investment? Their aunt? After fulfilling the contract with Simon, they are free to break away and continue their careers without him. He is good at sniffing talent, he gives talent a chance, they make him money, and he helps kickstart their career. Win-win.

If you do not show how he looks today compared to years ago, you wasted my time. I pass by stories on him in future.

A friend gave him confidence to strive and should have stayed in touch. Good friends are hard to find.

When I heard them the first time they appeared the guy impressed me more than her, although she was pretty good, she was not at his level.

Jonathan needed no changes as he was the one contestant that blew us all away with his performance just the way he was! Perfect in Mind, Body, Soul and Voice!! Why change something that is so different but Perfect and stands out from all the rest?? Reminds me of when 2 people first meet and 1 absolutely adores and falls in love with the person. Then over the next few years of relationship try to change everything about them!! Thats not Love!! Thats called control....

She dumped him. After BGT and Simon said to dump her because she will just hold you back , was a terrible thing to say. She was the one that gave him all of the courage to go out on stage and sing or he would _still_ be a nobody ! How fast greed takes over the human heart and turns his back on a true friend . She is now successful in her own right . Kudos to her ❗⚘

Looks like Jonathan had a great support from Charlotte to find the courage to present himself on the big stage of AGT so I think that he should remeber that forever !

And he probably will. So will she, cause she really did NOT get the short end of the stick. She gained a lot from it too and let's be honest, if Jon had dumped her, like Simon suggested, nobody would remember her today and she would probably never have reached where she is today. She does quite well these days with an estimated net worth of $1M.

This is coming from New Zealand, We have watched Johnathon from his first audition on Britain's Got Talent, and we just love him, his Voice is certainly one of the best in the world, and his beautiful personality is so precious. He was brilliant with Charlotte but needed a solo career with an incredible voice like that. We Wish him all the best.

Yes-agree didn’t show transformation and wonder why they split- recall at audition Simon blatantly said Jonathan would do better going sol-but he said they were a duo. I think she gave him confidence, and wonder how it ended. His comment about reuniting was blaze, I thought, but maybe I’m reading too much into it

Opera singers like Jonathan are rare that happen once in a blue moon,like Pavarotti. Whereas singers like Charlotte, (though good) are a dollar-a-dozen. And i hasten to add that she also has had measured success perhaps on the back of their duet together. However she has done well and deserves the credit for that. Jonathan on the other hand has been a runaway success with no end in sight. God bless you Jonathan.

I was very disappointed that a recent photo was not shown. I also was disappointed to hear that he has not had any contact with Charlotte in years. She was more loyal to him than he is to her.
