BG 4.10: Being free from attachment, fear, and anger, becoming fully absorbed in Me, and taking refuge in Me, many persons in the past became purified by knowledge of Me, and thus attained My divine love.
In the previous verse, Lord Krishna explained that those who truly know the divine nature of his birth and pastimes attain him. He now confirms that legions of human beings in all ages became God-realized by this means. They achieved this goal by purifying their minds through devotion. Shree Aurobindo put it very nicely: “You must keep the temple of the heart clean, if you wish to install therein the living presence.” The Bible states: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5.8)
Now, how does the mind get purified? By giving up attachment, fear, and anger, and absorbing the mind in God. Actually, attachment is the cause of both fear and anger. Fear arises out of apprehension that the object of our attachment will be snatched away from us. And anger arises when there is an obstruction in attaining the object of our attachment. Attachment is thus the root cause of the mind getting dirty.
This world of Maya consists of the three modes of material nature-sattva, rajas, and tamas (goodness, passion, and ignorance). All objects and personalities in the world come within the realm of these three modes. When we attach our mind to a material object or person, our mind too becomes affected by the three modes. Instead, when we absorb the same mind in God, who is beyond the three modes of material nature, such devotion purifies the mind. Thus, the sovereign recipe to cleanse the mind from the defects of lust, anger, greed, envy, and illusion, is to detach it from the world and attach it to the Supreme Lord. Even the ardent propagator of jñāna yog, Shankaracharya, stated:
śhuddhayati hi nāntarātmā kṛiṣhṇapadāmbhoja bhaktimṛite (Prabodh Sudhākar)[v13]
“Without engaging in devotion to the lotus feet of Lord Krishna, the mind will not be cleansed.”

My Gurudev has explained so well. Even in many of his lectures, he has emphasised the root cause of suffering is attachment. Shri Krishna has beautifully explained the link of mental afflictions and Gurudev has made it more clear for audiences. Repeated contemplation of happiness creates attachment which then creates desire. Fulfilment of desire leads to greed and if it is not fulfilled then anger rises. With anger comes to clouding of judgment which leads to bewilderment of memory. It then leads to destruction of intellect and finally the soul is destroyed. The best solution is to create selfless and noble desires. Practice KarmYog

Very enlightening lecture. Thanks a lot dear swamiji. U r GOD'S gft to the humans in this kaliyuga
We can purify our mind by get rid of attachment. Thank you .
Swamji this your young faithful follower from India. This question which I ponder is related to the verse 4.6 from the HOLY BHAGVAT GITA. As you brilliantly explained the root of cause of creation...how did this creation came into existence and etc. Following are the questions : 1. God is always existing. He creates all these universes etc. As per my knowledge, the ¼ of creation is the material prison in which we are existing and the remaining ¾ of craetion are all the lokas... Golok etc. Then when god withdraws everything, does these lokas too pass into nothingness and get created again and again like we born and perish. But these are the abodes of gods then how can they turn into nothingness? 2. If the poor soul understands it's infinite potential and decides to lift the 2 curtains of maya and yogamaya..how in the first place will it draw the curtain of maya and then the curtain of yogamaya and embrace the divine? Please Swamji try to give me some time of your valuable time and answer these questions. Waiting for your response...... ||राधे राधे ।। जगद्गुरू कृपालु जी महाराज की जय ||

Jay shree Krishna 🌹🦚🙏
Swamiji l always wonder how do you explain such a difficult subject so nicely that layman can understand easily
In the process of setting ourselves from attachments, we should not be beguiled for others to subdue us, is my concern
🙏🙏🙏🥰
🙏🙏🧘🙏🙏
Guruji you are explained perfectly and how do our mind clean??
❤🙏🙏🙏🙏❤
🙏💕💐🕉️
Guru ji please need a motivational video for students
Is it necessary to have background music? Maybe or maybe not. OK if so could it be more inconspicuous? For starters the volume could be easily reduced. I think the music element seems to have been introduced recently and I find it a little distracting more so when you are focussed on each word said. Appreciate if this matter can be reviewed by the video editor and team with feedback from others. I value these discourses immensely! I have been listening to them for over a year now and still learning more and more and more. Ultimately I pray that I can have physical Darshan of Swami Ji.
😊👉😂😮😉🥰😘
So should I give up on everything and be free from all the worldly desires and materials? Should i just accept the things as they are be it good or bad, and not try to move forward in life and by moving forward it obviously means earning more money. Should i not try to achieve more rather than just letting go of everything thinking that it will all be gone one day? Am i not allowed to earn so much that it will be enough to feed my coming generations? I know god is my eternal relative but does that mean i should be free from the responsibilities that i owe to my parents? Can't i dream to earn more wealth so that i can provide to my family and those who are in need? I am not trying to prove anything rn I'm just trying to learn what i should be doing. Please i would really appreciate if someone answers my query💌

It's never said that leave ur responsibilities...u should do ur work but without being attached to the results...Externally say u can I hv to done this, I hv done that but internally u must know everything is done by God & everything belongs to God.

You can do whatever you want...only thing said is...later don't complain u did so much still unhappy...I think what swamiji meant is ...having the knowledge frees you from attachment which eventually frees you from pain. Earn money ...take good care of relatives....but don't expect that..just because u earned certain amount you will buy things which will make u eternally happy...or just becz we take good care of our ppl ..they will stay with us forever...or just because u left millions for ur upcoming Gen, they won't have their own struggles!!!!
Pranam
