+Luke Kulak it requires no skill to take down other jets/helis in bf4 compared to bf3... there's so little bullet drop on the 20mm stealth jet cannon that u can point directly at the other jet from a 100 miles and still hit with your spam... also it takes like quarter the time to destroy a heli with that cannon in bf4 as opposed to bf3... it required no skill...

actually i disagree with berzu, jets could be used to contribute to the team, thats what i was doing half the time in the jet. i was in my squad giving air support to my squad, clearing the bases before they moved in, or spotting for them as i had better views, letting them know who or what is where. all these while getting rid of other jets that were pounding my team. now thats impossible to do with bf4.

There sure are a lot of military-wannabe-nutheads in Battlefield - but the game also has it's own share of aviation mechanics and tactics, to which most of us are referring to when talking about dogfighting maneuvers and air speed, for example. I wouldn't pretend to know the first thing about real life fighter jets, but I know (in theory ;) almost everything there is to know about the aviation inside this game. =P I strongly prefer video games to actual wars, and love it when people get deep enough into a game where they figure out all the mechanics and strategies that work best =P Again I don't know to what you were referring with your comment, but here you have my little rant ;)

I highly doubt the "#1 pilot in the world" would be playing on normal mode. Hardcore is where it shows your true skills. No 3rd person camera, just stuck in the cockpit. Sure as hell no indicators so you can spot your target more easily. If people truly want to brag. Play on hardcore mode, especially when it comes to dogfighting. But that's just my opinion.

TheRabbitFear It's funny when people jump to conclusions as well. Did I ever say I was pro? Nope, you just assumed I did. He has his view and I have mine. As I said, it's easier to control your plane in normal because of the 3rd person camera. It's easier to spot enemies because the icon appears on your HUD. People want to brag about being good? Great, they're good in normal mode. Now go to the next level. I don't care if someone was in professional tournaments. I will consider someone a pro when they know EVERYTHING about it. That is including being good with the plane on normal and hardcore. Sure, he may be pro. But more than likely he's just pro on the normal servers. As I said, it takes more skill to shoot down people in hardcore. Flying in normal is completely different than flying on hardcore.

The best players play normal mode. Especially jets :) All the best pilots in the world practice and compete in normal mode, both dogfights and clan matches/tournaments. Third person camera allows for more advanced flying and maneuvers that doesn't work in cockpit only.

Nah, Battlefield 1 planes are so much better than in any other battlefield. That's including BF1942, which up until Battlefield 1s release, was my favourite game to be a pilot in when it came to Battlefield.

The thing I miss the most from BF3 to BF4 is the rockets on the jets. Used to be my favorite thing to do but now every vehicle's countermeasures rearm faster than a fighter can reload. It's a shame that the fighters have essentially been locked to the air superiority role.

Awesome flying,I personally don't like jets being in bf3,if you get 1 or 2 good pilots on the other team then just forget about getting in a vehicle.

Harkov Dent Unfortunately, I have only an old gen console, so Conquest small is the only option. It just really sucks that maps only have 1 jet type per team (Operation Firestorm 2014 has both for me), and that jet type is usually Stealth. On maps like Silk Road, I have gotten a few tank shots and I can usually lock down the skies pretty good, but back in BF3 I could get infantry and jeeps, not to mention I was great at dogfighting others. Now, either my aim is just piss-poor, or the bullets don't hit as hard, idk. I am still pretty good in BF3, though.

He was probably getting locked on by someone else, and honorable jet pilots do stay in the jet when disabled, as they tend to die with it in order to respawn in one.

more or less. I get tired of flying in loops and usually end up dying as I don't have patience to continue that useless shit while ground troops are busy getting points and having fun. one time I just wasted around 20 mins in a loop and then enemy lav ad shot me down. never flew jets after that. Except to unlock that UCAV in Bf4

Hardcore is the only way to play. Especially since most snipers take two shoots to kill at mid range.

Why is it that all legit competitive games are played on core? All you need to do on hardcore is shoot first and you will win the gunfight. No skill required. All you need to do is sit in a corner to do well.

+Max Pollard The game doesn't make sense in core. It takes WAY too many bullets to kill someone. A shot to the upper body with a sniper won't kill in core. That's bs. That's why I play hardcore. Cause you can actually get some damn kills with the damn snipers. And I don't sit in the back either. Always in front. Cause no one else wants to take obj's...

+BeastyGhost4x4 I see your point with snipers but with vehicles I can't play hardcore because you can't go third person which really limits my view. Also with snipers you have to get a headshot which is a balancing factor for the game which makes the more rewarding to get kills with

Or maybe it's because he just doesn't want to play hardcore? Seriously, I don't get you hardcore elitists. Just because they play core, doesn't mean they're not skilled. If anything, they're probably actually more skilled, because playing hardcore is just a mess of recons one shotting you in the chest because they can't get headshots, or people spamming DMRs for cheap and easy kills. But of course, fun isn't an option, am I right?

angrycow hardcore players are a bunch of camping scrubs. Last time I played HC 7 of my teammates were on a roof just watching the tickets burn up. Took my jet and strafed em until I got kicked

Coming from console. I loved BF3 jet dogfights. The maps were much bigger than bf4. It seemed that in bf4 the jets with afterburners would reach the end of the map too quickly.

i remember me going agents 2 pilots on the Russian team and me on the US team and at that time i was mad because the 2 pilots were base raping and i said : Im gona show you who is the boss . i got in the F-18 and when was airborne i took 2 heatseaking missiles and i got disabled FYI , the pilot who disabled me was a lvl 57 and the other one was lvl 100 and in my haid i said that i must take down that lvl 100 pilot 1st then i will take down the other lvl 57 pilot , when i got disabled i managed to control the jet and the lvl 57 pilot was behind my and he was trying to get a good angel to shoot me down and in front of me was the lvl 100 and i had good angel on him and i fired the shot and down he goes and i took my hands of the sticks and the jet did a wide barrel roll and i was going down, the lvl 57 pilot was trying to get a shot but he couldn't save his other pilot and i re-spawned in another F-18 and i took out that Russian pilot , then i base raped them XD

The blue BF3 hud elements and "enemy killed" still looks way better than the bland white in BF4. Damn I miss BF3.
