Thanks Jonathan appreciate the support :)
Great interview! I like hearing the more personal stories. It is also good that mental health is so much more talked about, especially from big, strong men. Mental health struggles have been looked down upon for so long and it is helpful for others to know they are not alone.
Lawrence was amazing to watch at WSM. Words cannot describe how intriguing it was to see such amazing efforts of power and athleticism
I could listen to Loz all day, entertaining with a great outlook on life.
I think the biggest muscle Loz shows is his heart great interview.....

That was a very good interview. I know KZread is a highlight reel but to hear about how Loz grew up and the things he overcame or rather what motivated him and what continues to motivate him is truly inspiring. Thank you for posting.
After all the years watching Loz I just today learned that he played Ping Pong! What a day.
I have been following Loz and Liz for a number of years but I learned some fairly fundamental things about Loz I never knew before watching this video. Considering Loz’s past his career and abilities to train people and his insights are outstanding. I have a deeper appreciation for the Man he is. Loz saying the practice of perspective is a key to dealing with depression is 100% accurate for me. I have had depression and anxiety since my youth and at 60 years of age now perspective has been a huge benefit. The best I have done in my life is when I daily, even minute to minute practice perspective. I think part of why I follow Loz is his consistency in being alert, involved, and focused in his content he shares. This is a great podcast

Fantastic interview and great insight into Loz, made me love and respect him and more than I ever could
This was such an amazing interview. Thank you and Loz for being so open and sharing yourself with us. You two are absolutely beautiful souls.
What a great podcast. I remember a time when my ex complained to my sister that I jumped from job to job, but she reminded her that every job was better than the last. I did it to provide for my family and to get a job where I was happpy. I hate a job I'm not happy at. Be happy at what you do and who cares about the consequences
Excellent podcast/interview!
Awesome interview Big Loz is such a great guy.
... Awesome interview with you both.

Thanks Richard. Who do you want to see on the show next?
It's funny how you follow someone and grow a liking to them. Hearing loz talk about his childhood. And how it was so so similar to mine after all this time of being such a big fan of his. And it just makes it feel like it all makes sense. People always ask you ohh why do you like this athlete and you always answer "idk it's just something about them" and then they tell a story and you realize wow we are so much more alike then I could ever have thought. big respect to loz. I have been following his beginning strongman program and will continue to support him threw merchandise and watching his content. Big respect.
Absolutely brilliant, proper open and honest from Loz and excellent questions, insight and discussion from Mitch. Top quality stuff, thanks guys.
Congratulations on your first first. The progress you’ve shown is remarkable, great result with the new stone event. Good luck in next years WSM.

I will never do strongman. The reason I love the sport above all reasons. The personalities and the camaraderie between the athletes is beyond any sport I know of. I love it. The fact that this exists in the most "macho" of sports makes it even more beautiful. As a guy, I think it's extremely important to see other men act the way strongmen do. (generally speaking) I love the fact that Magnus will always be respected by current top strongmen, no one really cares that Rob is gay at all. Race and nationalism seem to mean nothing. Also I have never seen pro men in any sport do so much to help the womens side of the sport. They fucking deserve it too. If more people were fans of strongman I honestly think it would improve humanity overall. Oddly the Russia Ukraine thing hit me in a weird way due just to the fact that Shivlykov had always been so supportive of Novikov. =(

Was really excited for this because I have been really enjoying following Mitch's career, he seems to break stuff down in a way that is easier to digest. This was a brilliant interview, have followed Loz for ages and watch his stuff religiously but still managed to learn new things about him and hear him talk about subjects he hasn't covered before. Great stuff, something highly motivating about listening to Mitch and Loz together.
Congratulations on your win last night ❤❤❤ awesome performance

That was a great interview Mitch ! I didn't knew Laurence was the strongest ping pong player in the world. 😆 The fact you talked about depression and mental health really hit me deep. If it can help somebody, personally I've been struggling with depression my whole life since my teenage years. I'm glad I met a friend who introduced me to God (not religion). Yesterday I went for a walk and I was at a low point... I just opened my heart to God and told Him everything that pissed me off about life. Today, I'm more motivated than ever. I think sometimes we just need to let the pressure out and feel appreciated and listened. Even when we don't deserve it, my belief is that He will always be there for us when we need Him and reach out to Him. Mitch you are an inspiration for me. Looking at you motivates me to be in the best shape of my life. I truly appreciate what you bring to the strongmen community and I wish you the best in life. God bless you mate ! Thanks to you and Loz !
❤ loved this - great to see uncle Loz on the other side xxx ❤❤❤
"And since then, you haven't been off the podium". And STILL true as I type this today AND the 2023 WSM winner. Insane first year!
This was so great ❤️ I’m so happy for your win at ACUK, and I have been looking forward to someone getting Loz to tell his story for so long. SOOPER Hooper ❤️
What a fantastic interview! So interesting, much more so than the standard athlete podcast. Keep up the great work 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Watched all of this in one sitting, amazing conversation, you both are great people to listen to. Thanks for making this.

What a great podcast! Really interesting to see Loz open up about his life.
Honestly one of the best interviews I’ve watched. The questions and topics from Mitch were great and not the standard stuff we always hear asked. Was cool to learn more about Loz. Mitch, I look forward to the future interviews/podcasts you do. You’ve been awesome to watch so far in shows, absolutely smashing it 💪🏻🏆
Fantastic interview love Loz!!
Love you both, and love this format. I’m an aging amateur strongman and a mental health professional, so this is right up my ally.
Great interview
Great interview! I'm only half way through, but had to say what a good job you are doing.
So much wisdom in this chat.
Great interview guys, so interesting hearing more about Loz's life and family, thanks so much for sharing, it's really uplifting and motivating.
Great interview! Love to hear about the person beyond the sport.
You guys have fantastic chemistry together!! My prediction is The Mooooooooose wins WSM 2023!!! Absolutely love Uncle Loz and cousin Mitch!!!! 💪🏼💪🏾

Great interview. Loz is a gem.
Awesome podcast/interview Mitch, really like the way you deliver it, it's so smart and subtle, much more of a calm and intellectual nature in strongman podcast (since both of you are really smart meticulous the way you guys saying things). And this is a really good dig dive to Uncle Loz. He never mention a lot about his personal life, and thank goodness you ask that really politely, makes him comfortable (although in my pov, he kinda already let go and okay with that heavy subject matter since that was in the thing in the past ... but still tho) and manage to make this more than a hour interview went really good. Thanks for the content
Thx for the great podcast! Awesome to hear more insights from Loz!

This was a brilliant interview - really interesting direction to pull it away from the obvious subject of strongman (hence the title I guess! 😄) but still found it fascinating. You’re a great interviewer too, Mitch 👍🏻 (been picking up tips from your interviewee?! 😁)
As someone who dealt with depression as well, I learned food can trigger and create. Sugars and high processed carbs have a huge negative effect on our bodies as most know but they also lower the quality and performance of our minds. I eliminated sugars a year ago and its been the most positive and happiest year of my 48 year old life. Seeing all the sweets and high carbs what a lot of you strongmen eat, I have to imagine if you guys don't burn it off fast enough, a lot of you guys probably experience a lot of days when you just don't feel right and start walking that fine line of depression?
Thank you for making this video. I can totally relate to a lot of the topics covered. In particular, motivation, mental health, bad relationships, having a child with autism. My background is a difficult ex wife, former athlete in high school (tennis) and college (lightweight crew), and father to a child with autism and another with ADHD.
Awesome interview with Loz!
Loz turned out a good human considering. I hope if his dad is around he keeps him at arms length. Passive aggressive/ toxic people NEVER change.
Mitch will be the Larry King of strongman. Tough questions! Love it
Well done guys, a great listen. If I happen to see both of you famous guys at Giants live Glasgow...I'll get you to take a photograph of me with Ashley & Liz 😜
Great interview mitch! 💪🔥
The moose is fast becoming my favourite athlete. The way you grab life and run with it is just inspiring.
With greater sport popularity and wealth NEEDS to be, on balance, greater athlete recognition and financial compensation. The fans are not coming to see Colin, Darren, and other management, yet they are the ones ruthlessly ruling the roost.
Hooper is on another level from the rest damb watch out the hulk is about !!!
Excellent interview. I can't see an episode 1 though?

Good interview Mitchell, but the title seems misleading. I first thought Laurence was interviewing you. Beyond strong with Laurence Shahlaei fits better IMO.
Smart move to listen to Lawrence. Great coach trains great athletes. Lawrence, as is Moose, is a very excellent all around athlete

Strongmen ARE celebrities, as Strongman, like all pro sports, is entertainment. No reason they shouldn't be treated as celebrities.
Podcast like a job interview for a coach
Cheers
Mitch said not long ago that he doesn't really have any heroes but I think that after this interview Loz would have moved very near of the top of the list of whatever category is just below Heroes
Mooooose!
3:23 Are you KIDDING, Loz?? A 400 pound squat is HUGE--far more than 90+% of the world can manage.

Did not know that Lewis was autistic. He does a great job on the videos.
How do you (either of you) think you 'd fare going about life and training alone, with no partner or team?

I haven't listened to this yet, but I remember that you said that you want to talk about things others don't do online. How about you talk about the steroid usage in strongman? It is so hard to find good information on what the top guys do in that department. It is also a huge topic that no one has tapped into yet. thoughts?

I just dont think its an interesting topic tbh, unless we're talking peptides for injury recovery and such, the more unknown and exotic subjects. all athletes use AAS, there's not much else to be said about it than that..
@vvoof2601
Жыл бұрын
@@Nelarsen The thing is that while people like you and I know that steroid use runs rampant in all sports, the vast majority of people think they just work hard and eat well. Steroid use in sport needs to be openly discussed by as many athletes as possible.
@Nelarsen
Жыл бұрын
@@vvoof2601 To what end, exactly? I dont think its going to benefit anyone, the athletes nor the fans. I think its fine that those who know, know, and those who dont, have no reason to know. Eating well and working hard should be the priority for rookies to begin with - not knowing that their idols are actually pushing grams of anabolics a week is good IMO.
