You would think after re-animating so many dead bad people he would think to not re-animate bad dead people. Every time he gets into trouble is when he re-animates his enemies and it's never explained why. I get he's obsessed, but dude! If you want to be successful and stop having dead ends (pun intended) to your project, maybe don't re-animate people who are going to stunt your experiments.

That cop in the beginning that double tapped the reanimated zombie is easily the smartest cop in the entire genre history.

What I think is kind of cool about this is how West and Cain had such a weird, codependent but ultimately kind of affectionate relationship for two films, but in this one West cares so, so little about Howie. He just doesn't have the same regard for him as he did for Cain, and it's just a cool choice on the part of the filmmakers, to show that West's actual semi-genuine concern for any other human being was focused entirely on one. And I think that's who he is going to find when he walks away at the end. After all, Cain is out there somewhere, and he and West did SUCH good work together...

The interesting thing is, it implies Dan turns state evidence but it also seems like that is the only animosity Herbert has for him. Given the situation, he probably could have easily thrown Dan under the bus and gotten a hung jury. So you wonder if Herbert copped to the whole thing, either so he could keep the 'recognition' of what was done to himself, or if he, in his own way wanted to keep Dan out of it, despite him turning on him.

Not sure if you got it, but the reason the hanging bodies were jerking around like that was because they were re-animated bodies, doomed forever to be dying but never die. The Warden didn't like how quick death was and wanted to prolong the suffering of it, and used the serum to do that.

Fun fact: The character Cabrera (the one who has the pet rat) has a name that translates to "pissed off" which I would certainly say fits his character.

I'm honestly disappointed that you didn't go a little further into Speedball's _"Death"._ The Reagent Formula literally reanimates dead tissue as a whole, that's obviously been established, but to reanimate someone or something that's still alive took it to a different level, as it appears each and every part of Speedball's body started to gain life of itself, the evidence of this is related to the first movie where a corpse's intestines act like a tentacle, same concept here with Speedball. As goofy and outta place the puppet looked, it basically portrayed that Speedball technically became a paradox of both being alive and dead. After that scene it's shown that West kept Speedball's eye, which was still alive and moving on his own, only to throw it away at the end of the movie.

It's also interesting because there's a deleted scene from the first movie where we find out that West had actually been shooting himself up with the Re-Agent. Pretty small doses compared to what Speedball took, but still. Not sure if that's had any effect on him whatsoever, but it's cool that they finally re-explored that idea from the original.

He's working towards an ultimately altruistic goal, every doctor's dream, never losing a patient ever. Every experiment has a different result that is a success albeit not a good success. Each success brings him closer to nailing it. If he had better sources of NPE than the population of a weird corrupt prison, it'd probably work just fine.

I'm so glad you did this franchise, I'd always heard of Re-animator but wasn't hugely familiar with it, but I enjoyed watching this kill count series so much that my dad got me the first film for my birthday last week, so thanks again James!

Zarla's flash animation of Move Your Dead Bones is awesome. If you haven't seen it, go check it out, it's a lot of fun.

A Re-animator remake is still in the works I believe. Hope Jeffery Combs is somewhat involved.

Amazing how I still remember the "Move your dead bones" song from obviously, the furry community. I still remember 2016 quite frantically though, *as it was one of the best years there were.*

Nuyo I think people should be able to post their content uncensored without getting completely fucked over by KZread, all that shit you just listed is still there, the difference is back in the day people who were posting harmless shit didn’t get shafted too, now you get demonetized for mentioning certain words like rape even if you’re just trying to share your own personal experience or spread awareness, or like James losing all his ad revenue for some gore in a movie

Nuyo first of all, in my own opinion, which may be wrong, you don’t need to be 18 to see fictional gore, I’ve been watching horror movies since I was like 8 and I turned out fine, it should be up to the parents to monitor what their kids watch and if it’s safe for them, rather than just slap a tablet or a computer in front of their kid and leave it up to KZread to make sure their kids aren’t watching anything ‘harmful’. Secondly I see what you’re saying about it’s the rules and whatever but what this dude is saying, and I’m agreeing with, is that KZread used to not cater to babies or social standards, it used to be so much more wild and had like a real sense of freedom, they banned fucked up shit whenever they could but now they discourage people from being creative because the site favors vloggers and family family content. I understand why because of ad revenue, but the constant changing of rules has fucked over many of my favorite creators which sucks to see. So I think it was much better back in the day I’ll take the bad with the good

It would be better if he did a posdcast on it instead of a kill count, to discuss the deeper meaning of the movie. Definitely one of the best horror movies of the past 20 years, hands down.

You're paying for the gore at that point. Advertisers don't wanna pay content creators for mature content, but they're okay if you're paying for or renting the movie.

With the passing of Sid Haig you should do a kill count on the house of 1000 corpses franchise

It’s funny that Herbert West, mad scientist Doctor is played by Jeffrey Combs who is the voice of Ratchet, the Autobot mechanic/“Doctor” lol So weird… especially for me since I knew him as Ratchet first.

I love that I get back early on Friday so I can watch an episode of a funny guy making a supposed horror movie not scary
