I found dr Susskind's remark at 26:50 quite fascinating; the letters A,C,G and T play a prominent role both in fundamental biology and in fundamental physics, with a being the cosmic scale factor function determining the Hubble parameter.

Maxwell equations already can explain very well the unified fields theory via the interaction if the displacement currents with the magnetic fields resulting in gravitational fields.

We know that Newton came up with the rules of the Calculus, which was required to calculate orbits. thedeepspacevoid This is not true. Base 60 was used by the ancient Babylonians. It's why we have the time system we do, which is confusing in base ten. In computing base 2 is used (digital) and the Romans were so whacked they had no concept of zero. But even if true it doesn't answer my question. Was mathematics discovered or invented? It doesn't matter what base number system you use., mathematics will give the same answer.

Hegel's 'unity of opposites', is the true unified theory, that enabled the creation/prediction of positron by Dirac. At the big bang dark matter and dark energy with opposite properties were produced, followed by production of particles and anti-particles, followed by matter and anti-matter..... and on to hot and cold, up and down, male and female etc. Strange Hegel had no idea of positron or anti-gravity, yet his unified theory explains quantum mechanics etc.

Hey Ben. I agree more interesting with the standing back from the detail of the subject. Interesting comment about Taoism too I think. Made me think yeah how the one becomes two as in yin and yang. And then the dance of the two creates the many-fold forms. Yin and Yang could be energy and matter or force and form etc. Thus all the rest of physics becoming emergent. Physics as biology hmmmm!

14:00 You left out the part that shows time has asymmetry and gravity is created by the subtrahend of the EM wave. You'll need to add a second arrow to time of course to support both additions. Appreciation and thanks goes to SLAC's BaBar team for confirming time has asymmetry in 2012 which adds a 4th phase (part) to the atom. Too bad politics are hiding what's really going on.

That's easy as it goes back to the late 40's before dice took over... recently there was CERN's 2011 253.6 mile muon neutrino measurement of (v-c)/c=2.48e-5 sec in 453.6 miles as predicted based on Sommerfeld's observations of the photon using SLAC's E158 weak force asymmetry ratio exposing the asymmetry in time predicted in advance. After the E158 ratio matched CERN's data by creating an asymmetry in time (gravity) SLAC confirmed time has asymmetry a year later in 2012 after SLAC went back over their BaBar experiment's data "looking at it differently" and confirmed time has asymmetry. Unfortunately logic and simplicity is past people who copy mistakes to create new theories.

Because, no one live long enough to discuss such numbers of words.because there are more planets in the universe than a numbers of cells in our brain. So you know..it's an infinite discussion.

Perhaps the smartest person who we know about. Statistically speaking, I feel there must've been many smarter folks. But we never hear about them bec they had the bad luck of being born in places where there was no chance of getting an education or due to a multitude of other random factors in life that took them down a different path. For example, Darwin would likely not have had his epiphany if he didn't come from a wealthy family that allowed him to travel the world, etc.

Let's remember, once scientists unify relativity and quantum theory, they will still be left with the task of unifying materialism and consciousness.

O=E=W=T shows a particle making clock being created by Ohms law and it's many expressions like F=ma looking in a mirror of simple but blinding opposite symmetry of all concepts where relative to the weak force (W) we see a Mass pendulum create multiplication associated with two equal wait states of on/off associated with a wave, and relative to the strong force (T) we see exponential octave (E) division within the time of Observation (O). "Now" is given a beginning and an end for measurement as it's arrow of reverse oscillation phase moves forward in time following its forward oscillation phase with increasing wait states of non-observational awareness the observer does not notice as it waits it's turn for it's own specific harmonic frequency to reoccur. "Relative to the Observer all other Observers are behind it in time". We are playing "leap frog" with time where my clock sees you jump backward and your clock sees me jump backwards as all points of observation fall backwards in time so time can move forward. That's not particularly well stated but like I said the symmetry of time is blinding... and communication of information requires picking a relative frame of reference to express it's inertial frame of reference from, and draw a line of force carrier space separating the weak force from the strong force hidden from a trained physicist using dice by the fine structure constant that would create an asymmetry if not for universal gravity picking up the tail end. Consciousness has Mass and the brain does not create Mass. The brain is a filter of information made out of time and is supported by the 4 forces in physics that extend beyond it creating the 5th force of measurable freewill change based on e-motion. Gravity proves time is real as it is relative to a second reverse arrow's harmonic comma's gain in length, as does the separation of observers by wait states and measured points of past observation held in time dilation and created in harmonic "tonal" octave levels causing the illusion of missing matter to those that don't understand time and the cause of gravity where the further back in time you look the greater the relative effect of time. The more roommates you have, the weaker your vote on what change to create. If you want to see what time is all you have to do is look at light through a slit and make it thinner and you will see a point where the light is rotated from vertical to horizontal that without an answer "why" has perplexed physicists... but as always there is a reason that makes sense and once understood the answer is quite obvious. And the answer why we see the light become horizontal is because it deals with our reference frame of observation which requires the time of two Mass oscillation cycles to create one "instance" of an observed center of gravity in 3 dimensions relative to time that creates the direction of gravity relative to the observer in spacetime, and we are seeing not a precession, but the cause of precession due to "particle" spin. And that observation brings us to understanding gravity connected to light because both are connected to time on opposite ends of two arrows connected to time. There are 3 basic observation frames within a single Mass oscillation and this is why we see 3 "generations" of particles. "When we look at light we are looking at Mass in oscillation, the source of light found within the weak force antiparticle Mass oscillation phase connected to time creating a speed of light clock that should stop our clocks completely in observation of it because it is a master clock signal where the term "relative to light's clock" does not apply as it does to an observer made of particles looking at another observer's particle clocks held together by the strong force.32:00 The "emergent" problem or rather change is caused by time, our only tool of measurement refusing to stay the same length EVEN through a Mass oscillation cycle and the two top/bottom wait states associated with Mass oscillation. If the positron, an antielectron is a fundamental particle then so is the antiproton/neutron for they are the same Mass in oscillation and therefore this applies to their mirror particle states held in time by the strong force. We see our clocks move because time has asymmetry and our clocks are dealing with time dilation separating them based on the constant speed of light. The asymmetry of the weak force {a} is the key to understanding physics in relationship to time and space which eliminates uncertainty. There are no dice and I'm going to prove it using simple basic math to put the outcome of proven complex mathematics together. To make further progress in electronics as well as physics a true or "initial" inertial frame of reference needs to be established for the weak force so the "missing" graviton or "hole" as it is called observed in semiconductors due to it's reverse oscillation phase arrow can have it's phase timing separated from the electron's forward arrow as is already observed and both phases be set relative to the master clock cycle within the weak force so the graviton can have it's 4th oscillation phase in time added to the atom. That's right... the atom has 4 phases or "parts". If space is relative to time, as we know it is, then anything, atoms included oscillating in space must have 4 phases of oscillation and that requires a reverse arrow. You cannot measure a particle's location and it's velocity accurately if you leave out half of time needed to make the measurement. And to do such a measurement you must first establish an inertial frame of reference to set (the length of) the clock being used to measure the particle's location and speed. If you don't know exactly how long the ruler is you can't use it to make a relative measurement on the scale of an atom. And as we go deeper into physics we must include the reverse Mass oscillation phase connected to time responsible for the asymmetry in time SLAC's BaBar data exposed a year after their E158 data showed it first thanks to CERN. You won't like the politics hiding the discovery, but you will find this interesting: e{a}/t=hv. The speed of light is 186282 miles per second: IE 186282 miles = 1 second. This is the result of Mass oscillation or "the Master clock cycle" that has two arrows associated with the DNA's "tonal space" of phosphate and sugar of opposite phase timing creating a pendulum that is slightly longer on the following oscillation phase as the fine structure constant equation shows: e{a}/t=hv. (The fine structure constant is maintaining E as a constant using time dilation, it's a worm hole where more time is measured going back in than came out because time did not stop during the oscillation cycle and time is what we use to measure/observe with. It shows gravity is cause by the subtrahend of the two arrows connecting gravity to the weak force as half of EM... a minute amount more we notice and measure as the direction and force of gravity relative to the observer. CERN's muon phase timed neutrinos were announced Worldwide in 2011 @ (v-c)/c=2.48e-5 sec in 453.6 miles. That is an exact match with SLAC's E158 asymmetry of the weak force data @ 2.48e-5 sec added to the speed of light traveling 453.6 miles creating an asymmetry in time of 20e-5 sec, what we call gravity. After the data was shown to match the E158 ratio SLAC went back over their BaBar data and confirmed the asymmetry in time exposed a year later giving it a sigma 14 level of certainty. *Note that the neutrino created at the speed of light does not exceed the speed of light in adding it's space to the measurement and CERN used muon phase timed neutrinos which is like waiting at a stop light to measure a photon go by and waiting a fraction of a second to make the measurement and adding that added distance to it.* There was a write up on it on Wikipedia but that's been pulled off now but was copied and noted in other areas of the Internet. Here is the simple math that proves it. If you open up a calculator and follow the flow it's easier to see doing it yourself. Weak Force Asymmetry {a} adds 1hour/3600 seconds every 1000 years: Re: SLAC E158 data "using clocks". Muon neutrinos do not exceed speed of light as CERN said "if the data is correct". They are created at the speed of light adding to the speed of light measurement just like the photon "tricks" Summerfeld detected in 1948. (Because their phase angle is @ theta 23 unlike electron neutrinos but you don't need to understand that to see the data match.) 3600sec / 1000 years = 3.6 seconds of weak force asymmetry time added in a year, the distance light travels in 3.6 seconds. 3.6 sec x 186282 (speed of light) = 670615.2 miles added to the speed of light in one year 670615.2 / 365.2425 year = 1836.082055072999 miles added to speed of light in one day 1836.082055072999 / 24 hours = 76.50341896137498 miles added to speed of light in one hour 76.50341896137498 / 60 minutes = 1.275056982689583 miles added to speed of light in one minute 1.275056982689583 / 60 seconds = 0.021250949711493 of a mile added to speed of light in one second Now that we know the know the {a} asy time/distance added in a second to the speed of light (0.021 mile) we need to know the fraction of a second speed of light distance it took for light to travel only 453.6 miles which is the distance CERN's neutrinos traveled to know how much {a} asy time to add to the speed of light traveling 453.6 miles and see if the {a} weak force asymmetry gain in time matches CERN's 2.48e-5 sec neutrino gain in time exactly as I said it would to create the force of gravity. So we simply divide 186282 miles (which equals one second) by 453.6 miles (the fraction of one second distance the neutrinos traveled) to acquire the weak force asymmetry value added to the speed of light. 186282/453.6 miles = 410.6746031746032 (or 453.6 x 410.6746031746032 =186282 SOL) Now we add the weak force asymmetry time gained to the fraction of one second value of 410.67 0.021250949711493 / 410.6746031746032 = 5.174644243208279 e-5 This shows the forward/back total neutrino oscillation time gained in 453.6 miles caused by the asymmetry of the weak force. Now notice the total asymmetry time gained of 5.17 e-5 sec is almost exactly double CERN's 2.48 e-5 sec past the speed of light. The next two simple calculations change physics by adding a 4th oscillation phase to the atom (graviton) and a second reverse arrow to time needed to support the "missing" graviton misnamed the hole opposite the electron and use CERN's data to show it's correct length relative to the electron and prove time has asymmetry that supports the force of gravity exactly as I had been saying for years never expecting this to happen and be so easy to prove and show that E=T, and time like energy must be conserved. We add a second reverse arrow (required for time to have asymmetry) for time by simply dividing 5.174644243208279 e-5 in half. 5.174644243208279 e-5 / 2 = 2.58732212160414 e-5 sec So we have 2.58732212160414 e-5 sec weak force asymmetry time gained in the forward arrow of time, and 2.58732212160414 e-5 sec weak force asymmetry time gained in the reverse arrow of time. We now add gravity to the second reverse arrow simply by using CERN's data which provides the correct forward arrow measurement of weak force asymmetry added in 453.6 miles by subtracting the forward arrow gain of 2.48e-5 sec from half of the ratio gained in 453.6 miles of 2.58 e-5 sec. 2.58 e-5 - 2.48 e-5 = 0.10 e-5 We now add it to the second reverse arrow 2.58 e-5 + 0.10e-5 = 2.68 e-5 sec So using SLAC's exceptionally specific but proven E158 WF Asy ratio obtained from adding the distance light travels in one hour to the distance light travels in one thousand years applied to 453.6 miles we can see using basic math that SLAC's E158 data matches CERN's neutrino data announced worldwide @ (v-c)/c=2.48e-5 sec in 453.6 miles with both sets of data adding 2.48 e-5 sec in the forward arrow of time and SLAC's data adding 2.68 e-5 sec to the rearward neutrino oscillation phase adding a reverse arrow connected to time. This creates an asymmetry in time of 0.20e-5 sec (2.68 e-5 - 2.48 e-5 = 0.20 e-5) needed for gravity exactly as predicted. CERN Neutrinos @ (v-c)/c = 2.48 e-5 create a lesser diesis (Einstein's Comma) = 0.20 e-5 (0.10e-5 + 0.10e-5) by matching SLAC's E158 asymmetry of the weak force data in the forward arrow of time @ 2.48 e-5 sec in 453.6 miles. This is a game changer from dice to two sided cards because the data match shows time has a reverse Mass oscillation arrow that gravity needs to exist exactly as shown by the Unified Field Theory equation that first showed me and a few others the weak force has an asymmetry that allows our clocks to move independent of each other. SLAC's E158 ratio that creates the asymmetry of the weak force ratio is an incredibly specific ratio and I had been quoting the E158 data for years after finding it's value showing why it had to match like this creating 3 specific ratios out of the E158 ratio to add an asymmetry to time calling it a lesser diesis comma. A coincidence of this magnitude is simply not possible. (This was done long before SLAC went back over their BaBar data and confirmed the asymmetry in time giving it a sigma 14 level of certainty "far more than needed to declare a discovery".) There is a lot of money involved with Science so don't think some scientists won't play games with the truth. To challenge CERN's (v-c)/c=2.48e-5 sec claim neutrinos (CERN used muon phased timed neutrinos) were exceeding the speed of light which they weren't many physicists said the data had to be in error because neutrinos (electron phase timed neutrinos) were measured traveling at the exact speed of light from ten's of thousands of light years away, not exceeding it. The problem with that "correction" is the fact that we know neutrinos oscillate and have mass and the same laws of Relativity that state no particle can exceed the speed of light ALSO state no particle with mass can travel at the speed of light. So the experts used one "impossibility" to dismiss another "impossibility" failing to see the gross error in logic and some tried to reduce the neutrino mass to say there must have been some slight delay but from ten's of thousands of light years away even a "slight" mass amount would be measurable, not to mention CERN stated an exact SOL measurement after they 'fixed" the "loose cable"... LOL There is a reason for observing a difference in electron vs muon phase timed neutrinos but it is beyond the scope of this post's layman presentation. What we see happening in physics where data is "doctored" to make theories fit is what happens when you use "dice" to measure time with rather that listen to the greatest physicist that ever walked the face of Earth when he tells you that "God dose not play dice with the Universe". This “soldieroftruth” that came out of nowhere to attack me like all the rest he goes after takes being bipolar and narcissistic, emotional traits found in all humans to some degree without a name until exaggerated, to the next level in an attempt to be hate oriented “monopole” to avoid the phase of fear he feels and the dread acquired from seeing people do positive things that causes him pain. This guy is severely hurt and affected by jealousy created by seeing other people’s accomplishments as simple as building an RC model and flying it, or even seeing someone try to improve themself. He refuses to respond and debate the issues of his attacks as he runs off to create more over and over again. His attacks express a habit he has. A habit seen by simply clicking on his emotionally derived name claiming to be "a soldier of truth" exposing a dangerous and extremely high level of gross insecurity for his place in the world around him. He makes his statements of attack while hiding behind a fake name for security and in my opinion if forced to confront reality with his true identity exposed he will react violently especially against a defenseless woman rather than accept the truth that puts him in his place exposing a weak and obviously sick individual attacking the whole world around him. His actions expose a problem that makes him more than a nuisance by insulting everything he sees. He is a threat to everything he sees with a strong desire to destroy it because of how he feels about himself. Whatever doctor is feeding him medications should be barred from practicing medicine. And the purpose of this post in response to his attack on me is to expose both of them before this guy hurts someone because some pharmaceutical company gives out kickbacks to make money off of selling meds that make people crazier than they were before they started taking them. I do not think QM contributed anything to the invention of transistors. What contributed were simple knowledge about chemical bonds in crystals, the role of electrons in these bonds, and a lot of empirical measurements. Those inventing transistors surely knew about QM, but transistors can be understood well conceptually without knowing anything about QM, and at that time the tools for calculations using QM on these applications were not there. Nowadays I think QM calculation is used more for such purposes, though.

I was nodding off a few times, but the analogy between strings from string theory and DNA was interesting.

The next Einstein to be must understand the Quanta as the immanent transition from 0 to 1, from the Intangible 0 to the Tangible 1, from 0-Time to 1-Timing. The Uni-verse I.S. Maybe Einstein known weak force unite EM force by (2/3) power of proton mass time permittivity of free space equal to 4*pi time electron's mass, unite strong force with gravity by ch = g*m^2, unite 4 force only unite gravity with EM force by 1836 ratio of mass of proton to electron.

I think I understand the analogy to biology, that the different possible geometries of the extra dimensions correspond to different DNA base pairs. And, this makes possible a huge number of possible sets of laws of physics. But why can't they concentrate on finding the geometries of those dimensions in our universe, and then using that information to make testable predictions that differ from those of the currently accepted theories? I got the impression from the talk that the large number of possibilities makes the scientific method obsolete

I can holds them against my hands, and moves them vertically or in circles, without any aid . All DNA sequences ARE (chemically) stable; that's why ancient DNA survives. The reason there are not even more different life forms is that, relatively speaking, very few theoretically possible DNA sequences produce organisms capable of reproduction. But that still doesn't give us a unified theory, because it doesn't explain why DNA and not DNB in the first place.

question. with infinite possibilities. dark matter dark energy. as two black holes massive black holes eat and eat more growing until these two black holes finally eat each, could a big bang happen in there ? study of dark matter dark energy is easily dismissed since we have so much of it .but the study of black holes and how they grow with that mystery about them. everything seem to be going in all directions it's growing because fast moving fast soon they say it should stop. everything we know about blackholes and the lesser we know about dark matter dark energy, time gravity in a blackhole seems easier then trying to understand our limited understanding of physics.

The very last comment...."re-wiring the brain usually involves abstratic mathematics" should be taken with a grain of salt, A math equation doodled on a knapkin or peice of paper will never "represent" the present moment---in time (see Time Reborn by Lee Smolin), because time itself is a biological experiencial side effect of "being alive". I've read The Foundation Trilogy (Isaac Asimov), so no-thanks; been there and done that!

If you truly 'understand' you should be able to 'predict' and if you can predict then understanding is not far behind.

Four-Dimensional Space. The whole. of Reality is born of a Single Reality, a quantum particle, that has a dual quality. Space is a great Void, 0, is simply the holding place for the Reality of everything. to include Time and motion. the whole of Time being born of the Zero Hour, the motion as a totality is motionless, is geodesic in nature. There is but a single Universe although there are many parts. Unity, symmetry, existed only prior to the moment of Creation. Before Creation, the Universe was without form and Void, there being only Darkness upon the Deep. The Universe is Four-dimensional; you can not leave out geodesic motion as a dimension in Space.

This structure is in everything and everything is within it, the universe and The spirit universe, The physical world and the spirit world, quantum particles and spirit quantum particles. Everything in Alpha has a Spirit counterpart in Omega. One may say what would it be like to be in multiple places at the same time? You would be looking at space time matter while seeing The spirit of space-time matter within yourself. They would have to be offset the one to the other or you could not tell the difference of being in time or eternity. And one could say how would your consciousness handle your body being delocalized in space? Your consciousness can handle it, it is your brain that would have the problem. There would have to be a team of neural connections in the brain that would be able to cope with this problem. Or You would be stuck between time and eternity not having the ability to move. You would be trying to move as if you were in Space time matter but it doesn't operate that way. You would have to operate the structure manually in The spirit of your mind in order to function, you would not even be able to breath! you would have to consciously breath for your physical body while in your spirit body or you would die.

Demetrius Anderson Space is relative to time, even two slits for a photon or electron to go through have a place in space/time and do not exist at the same time relative to the observer/electron. One slit is on the left, and one slit is on the right. So an electron going through both slits is not going through both at exactly the same time any more than a car that drives past First and Second street does so at the same time. The difference in scale makes the atomic world hard to see but as Einstein said it behaves the same in objecting to the uncertainty principle before the value of weak force asymmetry was known needed to measure with on the atomic scale after establishing a true or "initial" inertial frame of reference to measure from.

I think I have an idea about quantim physics everything is at one place at all times called a singularity when you think that you transported a part off a protron to a different place in time you really diddint maybe 11 kilometers away it is in the same place at all times its not this that is spooky what is spooky is I think that it is space time that is spookey thank you quantim physics I also think this is crazy but it only makes sense ps nothing moves faster than the speed of light unless you never moved might take 1000 years to figger this out with a quantim computer

Good starting point of awareness. The equation above shows "information frame" formation is a concept of opposites created relative to time adding a reverse arrow needed to move energy back and forth as a pendulum and starts with Mass/something creating it's opposite "nothing". Because it deals with E energy, and E cannot be reduced or go away it must be transferred into another "room" of time T called the strong force where "in equal time" it goes back into the "room" W where it came from. W is one size, T gets bigger. Space is relative to time. If you have little physics background then you are lucky as it is so simple it can be blinding. It's far better go through it intellectually before trying to add numbers so you can see what you are doing. It's a clock that creates atoms of 4 phases/parts in T. It created the symbol {a} now being used. Imagine a lever, {a} is where you put the fulcrum in time between past and future. The ratio keeps changing and has no arrow. It'll rip your head off due to the symmetry but I can see you already starting to think in the right direction. But the right direction has an opposite direction, a phase in time, and one follows the other with the Observer always in the middle. There is no Mass outside of W. Matter is made of time.
